The vampire Deshwitat, imprisoned for centuries by a sorcerer, is released upon the world and seeks revenge against the one that imprisoned him, and also helps fight against evil as he tries to find his place in the modern world.
The continuing story of the unlikely trio (vampire, nun, and teen) really doesn't get very far in this book. A new character (Rett) is introduced, and there's a bit more back story revealed, but most of this book just seemed to be gratuitous filler. Long battle sequences (which are good, just long), lots of inane chatter, and out-of-place cutesy joking are what make up the bulk of Rebirth 2.
Also, I don't know if it's just my copy, but the most of the artwork seems rough around the edges... almost like there was a reproduction problem at the printers. It's not too bad, but it was distracting.
It’s honestly such a trip to read this book series again. I forgot so much. But reading it has brought back so many fond memories.
I’m actually very excited to continue the stories and see if Desh ever does get his revenge on Kal. I’m also hoping Millnear becomes more of a major player after this book. Being introduced to Rhett again…man I did I ever forget what a crush I had on him. Can’t wait to start book 3.
Volume 2 of this manga only made me dislike the ladies even more. Neither Remi nor Millenear like Deshwitat. It’s understandable of Remi since her father sacrificed himself by letting Desh use him to get powerful enough to win last volume. Millenear just sees him as evil. For his part, Desh is an alpha male douche so it’s easy to dislike him. On the other hand, he has reason to be nasty, he’s been away from over 300 hundred years and the world is very new to him and to him it’s like yesterday he lost his lover. The only way for Remi to get dad back is for Desh to die but he’s okay with that but only after he gets revenge on Kal.
We get to meet one of Kal’s generals. She too has hentai boobs of doom and a barely there one piece to fight in (but to be fair, Kal’s running around in a Mayan priest loin cloth ala Hollywood so it balances I suppose). She’s afraid of Desh. Kal doesn’t care and oh, he’s out to kill the world for some reason and he’s supposed to be Light.
The bulk of the book however is in Hong Kong where Millenear takes Desh (and Remi who is running around sporting Velma’s outfit only with orange vertical stripes…well it does say she’s the virgin I suppose). Once there, instead of getting trained in how to use Light magic, Desh is attacked first by a guy he knows, the now-immortal Rhett who is doing it jokingly but his companion, a woman named Beryun takes it seriously so we get another long battle sequence with Millenear and Remi cheering on Beryun. At least Beryun can fight and seems more useful than Millenear. When the battle ends, we learn something important about Desh and to my delight Millenear gets dressed down hard by Rhett (who is at least a likeable character, finally).
Since I’m getting this from the library, I can probably get more when I run out of other manga to read but I wouldn’t run out and buy this.

2nd volume of this epic Korean vampire series. Determined to learn the sorcery of "light" Deshwitat, vampire master of the dark arts and his companions Remi Do and female exorcist Millenar head to a temple in Hong Kong. Here they meet an old friend of Desh, Rhett Butler who has been rendered immortal by his nemesis Kal. A female priest, under false orders to kill Desh challenges our hero and almost the entire volume is spent on the face off.
OMG is the pace slow, very little happens for a single volume - 166 pages I've managed to summarise in 6 lines. It's pretty much one fight that really isn't that interesting. The names are stupid, the characters aren't original and even the artwork is derivative - Shades of Ragnarok and Bastard!! anyone?
The story and characters are ok, but I hope it comes into its own soon, because so far I'm not that impressed. The one thing I did like, however, is the emphasis that dark and light magic are NOT synonymous with good and evil.
Part of the new wave of manhwa (Korean manga) the 'Rebirth' series catalogues the story of a 17th century vampire named Deshwitat L. Rudbich, who has been released from 300 years of stasis by his enemy, the evil sorcerer Kalutika Maybus.
Volume Two sees Deshwitat travelling to Hong Kong with Remi and Millenear to a Buddhist temple in order to learn light magic. Greeted by a friend he had long assumed dead, Deshwitat is attacked by a demon-slaying monk. However the attack is against the orders of the head of the temple, and the group discovers a shocking secret about Deshwitat.
Reviewing this book after re-reading it since joining GoodReads.
This book was very intresting, but weird at the samw time. I was really attracted to the book at first because of the artist talents, Lee Gang Woo put into the book. After reading the book for a hour or so, I thought that this book had a very good story line. Basically based a Vampire that is on a path for revenge for the death of his (Lover), and on his journey he runs into new allies that help him get closer and closer to the end of his revenge. I would really recommend this book to anyone who likes to read good vampire novels.
