Luke Mitchell struggled to find what was left for him in this world. He had never been this lonely before, and now it was consuming him. Love hurts, but the New World Order (NWO) hurts more!
They say knowledge is power, but knowing about the existence of the New World Order (NWO) is both jarring and life-changing. Once they were revealed to Luke there was no going back. He would have no chance of ever seeing the world the same way again.
Doomsday Diaries: Vol. II by Aaron Powell reads like an action packed post-apocalyptic love story. It is the inner struggle of a young boy forced to become a man, all the while learning about what love really is.
The research that went into writing this book is both extensive and awe inspiring. It is obvious that the author, Aaron Powell, is well educated and talented at pulling from his own real life experiences.
Aaron Powell served as a Marine during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2003 with a bachelor of arts in criminal justice and a psychology minor. He also completed a second bachelor of arts in business administration at Ashford University, where he graduated with distinction in 2011.

The movie 2012 comes to mind.
Having been hidden away from the real world for so much of his life, living in a bunker under the earth, it was obviously easier for Luke to accept the existence of the New World Order (NWO) than it was for his parents, that’s both good and bad. Being that sheltered from it made it so Luke didn’t understand just how manipulative, dangerous, and advanced this organization really is and so it was easy for him to fall into their web.
I think Luke realized right away it would be even harder to convince other people about just how evil the New World Order (NWO) really is, but he had come too far and he’s not the type to give up. With the help of his Uncle and his father’s old Military buddies Luke puts together a plan, now he just needs to stop thinking with his penis! Aww, young love.
In today’s world the New World Order (NWO) is dismissed as a conspiracy theory, even though it is openly discussed by everyone from the President(s) of the United States to the Pope! The New World Order promotes world domination by manipulating the economic, political, technological, educational, religious, and medical systems around the globe. It is the goal of the New World Order (NWO) to completely enslave humanity.
If the New World Order (NWO) did take over tomorrow the vast majority of the world would not understand what was going on. The New World Order (NWO) has been very successful in their attempts to hide in the shadows and spread their propaganda. Allowing for many of the people who do realize what the New World Order (NWO) is to ignore it.
Luke’s parents might not have ever discussed the New World Order (NWO) with him, but they gave him a strong enough foundation of morals, values, and education to not be completely tempted by their lies and illusions. I’d like to think if the end ever does come that my kids will respond to the New World Order (NWO) in a similar way.

It’s hard to teach old dogs new tricks !
It will obviously be easier for a newly established One World Government/New World Order (NWO) to exterminate the vast majority of the population and then start from scratch with a new generation of people born into slavery.
Population and reproduction control is one of the points addressed on the Georgia Guidestones (aka American Stonehenge). Many people today, who know about the stones, think they have something to do with the New World Order (NWO). The fact that most Americans have never heard of the Georgia Guidestones, or its message to humanity, reflects the degree of control that already exists today over the minds of the American people.
The world has used this idea of population control in the past. One example is the Nazis. Most people have heard of the Nazis sterilization programs, but they also subscribed to an ideology in which the human race could be improved by limiting the reproduction of people considered inferior.
Under the former President of Romania, Nicolae Ceasescu, the citizens of Romania were forced to reproduce in the service of the states. Women's reproductive lives and human rights were exploited. The state's violence against its citizens was bolstered by a web of interdependent practices: physicians were expected to police women's reproductive activity and all childless persons twenty-five years of age or older were fined on a monthly basis. Women's and men's sexual relations were intimately affected, at great psychological cost to the population.
The book followed along the theory that the New World Order (NWO) would repopulate selectively. For a teenage boy, with no experience in relationships, it would be really easy for the New World Order (NWO) to play with his emotions and urges. Luke was ready for a lot of things, but girls weren’t one of them!
Excerpt:
“…she was removing a black box from the craft’s interior. She tossed it out the rear where it landed at my feet, ‘There, we won’t need this anymore. It’s how the NWO will track us’…”
The black box or event data recorder (EDR), automatically records a vehicle’s speed and other information. They were built to determine why a car's air bag activated, but can now be used to reconstruct what happens in the seconds before an accident. Sounds like a very useful tool, but more people have access to a black box then you might realize.
The issue of black boxes, as well as RFID Chips, was only brushed by in the story, however; both are still worth pointing out. For those who don’t realize it, black boxes are a way for Big Brother to surveil every American’s transport habits and location data. Luke learns that the New World Order (NWO) uses it for that exact purpose in the story.

“…’a small chip implanted in their body’.”
Radio-frequency identification devices, or RFID chips, are just bigger than a grain of rice but capable of withholding a vast amount of information. Often these chips are implanted into pets just in case the pet runs away or is stolen. It allows the pet to be identified. The conspiracy behind these chips is that eventually, everyone will be required to have one. Everything from your health records to your money would be tracked on this tiny device.
The technology is already being introduced into society, and people are so desensitized that they are going along with it. We chip kids to prevent kidnappings, chip the elderly to guard against Alzheimers and Dementia, they just started chipping people with diabetes to monitor their blood sugar, a new theory is allowing the experimental chipping of people with allergies, soon we will be chipping people to prevent medical mistakes... and the list goes on and on! It all sounds good on the surface, using technology to better our lives, but is it?
The Bible tells us that we should ALL have a year’s supply of food storage. Perhaps that is so we will have food when we are only able to buy or sell with the RFID Chip. This technology is based on a barcode system, the root of barcodes is the binary code of 666, leading many religious followers to view the RFID Chip as the mark of the beast. Because of all the benefits of RFID chips, it’s likely much of the world line up willing to get chipped. Would you?
Excerpt:
“’People need to learn to put their faith in each other, to help each other and grow in a positive way. That is what God really wants. Instead, people seek comfort from outside; they pray for help and plead for strength and forgiveness, the very things that mankind can provide for each other. Many people are easily warped and corrupted when they face difficult times and resort to evil ways. It is when they find that there are no rules, no consequences that this occurs. But it is also these circumstances that reveal the true heroes…’”
I don’t think Luke sees himself as a hero, or anything special for that matter, at least not in the beginning. When he meets up with his Dad’s, Patrick Mitchell’s, Military buddies he realizes how important of a guy his Dad has been to the world, but even if Luke doesn’t see it the guys obviously realize that Luke is the one that is special.
As he does in many of his books, the author brings back reoccurring characters that will be familiar to avid Aaron Powell readers. The book also introduces some new people, allowing for the reader to learn much more about the team who served with Patrick Mitchell in the Military. The author’s character development is amazing, however; being that many of his characters are based on real people he might have left out how good looking some of his Military comrades really are. ;)

“I couldn’t believe how beautiful life was at that moment. For just a few moments I felt absolutely free, life seemed so amazing, and despite the terrible things I had experienced recently, I understood that there were still good things in the world, things worth enduring the complicated and miserable tribulations in order to experience. There was still hope.”

Doomsday Diaries II: New World Order by Aaron Powell is an action packed adventure novel into a post-apocalyptic world of the future. I enjoyed the story so well I could not put it down and read it in one day, which is unusual for me.
This is the second in the Doomsday Diaries series and I felt Aaron Powell really began to pull the story together. The overall storyline was well developed and believable. It was an easy book to read and follow. With each new twist you could feel the story intensity level rise and the excitement build. I enjoyed following the story and getting into the book.
The characters were well defined and believable. The main characters and the hero flowed seamlessly from the first book into this book with the continuation of the storyline. Each of the new characters added to the story helped build on the suspense and action. Aaron had a few surprising twist with the characters which added to the story.
I am looking forward to reading the next installment.

Once again I am not disappointed, I have been left wanting more and more. I am just finding that these books are just not long enough for me. As I get involved story with Luke and his protector, and those he meets on his journey of growth and awareness. There are times it is very easy to forget Luke is still just a teen. And other times you almost hear your own words out loud saying, OMG DID SOMEONE FORGET HOW OLD THIS KID IS? Granted he didn't grow up like everyone, and Everything is with a whole new set of rules, or none. And after all he just be the one that saves the world, then saves us from ourselves! Did I already say I WANT MORE? Amazon, where is the third in the series???? I cannot find it! Again as you can tell the author has pleased this reader.

I was hoping it wasn't so this one was much sadder so much death, sorrow, and pain. You could feel the pain of the deaths that took their toll upon him it was like you were living through him

Like I said in my review for the first book, I wanted to like this. The author very generously sent me a copy of the omnibus edition even after I failed to win the giveaway, and I would love to report that the flaws I found with the first one were fixed the second time around. Alas, I cannot. This will contain spoilers for the first book (nature of reviewing a sequel and all that) so be forewarned. Review of that one here.
The world perished in fire, victim of a plot by the world's elite to purge the earth of all who are unworthy to even be enslaved. Emerging from their shelter, Luke and his family were captured. Luke was taken to a breeding facility where he met the impossibly perfect Kara, then escaped to save his parents after promising to return for her. Alas, he failed. Luke's parents are dead, and he has now escaped with the mystery girl who's been helping him behind the scenes. Will he be able to find new allies to help him rescue Kara? What has been happening at the breeding facility in his absence? And just who is Moesha anyway?
Again, this was fairly mediocre in a lot of respects and downright annoying in others, though the plotting showed improvement. It was definitely more gripping than the first one, which dragged in spots. Oh, and apparently this is still diary entries--Luke just had to go back after the fact and write up his entire escape, given that he didn't have time to write at the time. On the bright side, the author definitely seems to know what he's talking about in the military sequences. I was hoping there would be less graphic sex this time around. I suppose there were fewer such "scenes," but what ones existed were just as graphic bordering on pornographic as before. There's also a poorly-done love triangle thing here, which is less triangle and more bait-and-switch, but I'll leave that for the deeper analysis I do on the whole omnibus.
Issues that were new to this volume: First off, the whole thing is revealed as a front for some New-Age the-Universe-as-God bull$#!^. Probably involving dolphins as some sort of extra-spiritual figure as we move forward, though that's only been hinted at so far. Then there's the incredibly unsubtle and uninteresting stance that clones are soulless monstrosities to be exterminated--no hint of moral ambiguity there to make things more interesting. That is something I've seen done much better nearly every time the issue has been raised, from the Star Wars EU to Michael Bay's The Island. That's right, in this regard Michael Bay writes better characters. That's a blistering indictment.... On a related note, Luke himself is inconsistent. In one scene he is disgusted by the soulless clones and expresses the sentiment that they should all be exterminated. Fifteen pages later he's decrying the loss of life on both sides, praying both for his friends and enemies as they drop like flies around him. It's inconsistent, and I don't believe anyone short of Christ himself would actually pray for his enemies in the midst of a firefight.
CONTENT: This serial is hands-down the most sexually explicit novel I've ever read. The sex is graphically depicted to a level bordering on pornography. You've been warned. R-rated language, occasional but still present. Strong violence. A load of New Age spiritualism, which I still expect to feature dolphins in the next couple books.

Of the four, this one is the slowest as the table is set for books three and four. Needs a bit of editing. Some readers have made mention they wouldn’t be moving on. Don’t be fooled. Yes, this one is a bit slow, but trust me, you will rush through three and four as everything comes together.
The prologue seems a bit out of place as we are thrust back in time. It really stumped me. Fear not, the lines will all be connected in the fourth one.
We are introduced to the NOW’s (New World Order) plans on ruling Earth and raising a new breed to carry out the evil plan of King Winthrop. Think of the Star Trek episode with Ricardo Montalban is seeking to build a master race. With over 99% of the population destroyed, Winthrop is going to create his own race which has one purpose: To Serve Him.
The core of this segment revolves around the NWO’s breeding station for teenagers. Think Logan’s Run. Now this is where it gets very steamy as the mating center is described in detail and I mean in detail. We are also introduced to Kara who Luke thinks is his true love. Nothing is as it appears.
The kids are there for one reason and one reason only: Breeding. Sounds like a Mecca doesn’t it? At first, it would be a lot of fun but as the scenes continue, Mr. Powell does an excellent job of removing the humanity from the topic and replacing the act with robotic actions. It be like a male being a guest at the Playboy Mansion. Seriously, it would be great for a while, but once the excitement of being surrounded by beautiful women everyday wears off, it would become the norm. The thrill would be gone. Paradise isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
The connection between Luke and Moesha, for me, was a bit overdone. Granted, I know Mr. Powell enjoys writing about erotica, but in this case I felt the dehumanizing of Luke’s sexual acts with Kara and Moesha were a bit overdone. But then again, that could also be the beauty of the act.
