Took me a while to finish. I forgot that this book gets into Millnear’s past and how she discovered her powers. Also to know that she accidentally killed her aunt and uncle, but it wasn’t a safe household for her. Desh does make a good point. He’s a vampire and he eats humans. If you wouldn’t judge a tiger for eating a deer then he shouldn’t be judged as well. I’m very excited to get into this series again.

A definite improvement on the previous 2 volumes. Things are beginning to get interesting.

Vampire Desh and his entourage: Millenear the ex-communicated exorcist, Remi the human girl, Rhett a 400 year immortal and Beryun an artificial priestess who can weird both the powers of light and dark head to the Vatican, the source of the power of light. Desh is determined to learn light magic even though the priests have told him that its impossible.

There are some really interesting character dynamics emerging. Desh an evil vampire may be humanity's only hope - his nemesis Kal has been prophesised by Nostradamus to destroy the world. Millenear and Remi struggle to come to terms with the fact that they must work with a vampire they despise. Artwork's so so - there's a really nice panel of Desh feeding and I liked his face off with Millenear over his vampire nature. We also get a little of the exorcist's back story towards the end of the volume.

Not bad at all.

Part of the new wave of manhwa (Korean manga) the 'Rebirth' series catalogues the story of a 17th century vampire named Deshwitat L. Rudbich, who has been released from 300 years of stasis by his enemy, the evil sorcerer Kalutika Maybus.

Volume Three follows Deshwitat's visit to a Buddhist temple in Hong Kong where he seeks to learn Light magic in his quest to defeat his arch-enemy, Kalutika. However he soon learns that the only place to learn the Light magic he seeks is at the Vatican. Upon arrival in Italy, Millenear observes Deshwitat feeding on an innocent and attacks him but is easily beaten. While sleeping during her recovery, Millenear dreams of her time at the Vatican... and her expulsion.

Meanwhile, an emissary of the Vatican seeks out Deshwitat to invite him to a private meeting...
