Covering a bizarre story assignment, newspaper reporter Jonie Waters enters a house. Beneath the floorboards in one room, she unearths a trunk concealing a corpse. Jonie dashes from the grim discovery to notify the police. But by the time Jonie’s romantic interest, alluring detective Daniel Wyeth, arrives on the scene and reenters the house, the trunk and its contents are missing!

With the police and her newspaper coworkers questioning her credibility, Jonie makes tracking down the body and the murderer her mission. She won’t let anything get in her way, not even distractions that include covering a series of newspaper articles with her old flame, interacting with her dysfunctional family, intercepting a mugging, and surviving a round of mud wrestling.

Silver Flashing is the second novel in the Jonie Waters Mystery series by Amazon Bestselling Mystery and Romantic Suspense Author Tamara Ward. Action and light romance combine with engaging characters and humor for a page-turning whodunit set in Wilmington, NC.

I really enjoyed the story. The tenacity of Jonie in her pursuit of the truth was very good. I will need to look for the first book in the series, and wait for the further adventures of Jonie Waters.

Loved this story.

The writing is fast paced and tight with excellent character development. The who dunnit was well executed and cleverly done.
The love interest between Jonie and her detective had me holding my breath at times. The family dynamics between Jonie, her father, her stepmother and half-sister (who is an amazing character) are emotionally authentic and valid.

Normally I don't enjoy reading in the first person point of view, but Ms Ward's execution is flawless.

Can't wait for the next book in this series to see what happens with her sister and the love interest.

I loved Tamara Ward’s novel "Storm Surge", and was delighted when the follow up was released. "Silver Flashing" continues with the characters from Storm Surge, yet Jonie is faced with a different murder.

Ward’s writing is crisp and her characters are well thought out and developed. As with her first book, the “who done it” part of the story is intriguing, but is the characters that captive my attention.

I loved this book as much as the first! It takes the reader through all sorts of emotions, from love to anger; suspense to catching your breath. Looking for a great read that will make you upset to put down? This and it's previous book are great choices.

Tamara Ward's second Jonie Waters mystery is outstanding. It has that perfect balance of excitement and creepiness. Jonie Waters is delightfully quirky -- you can't help but like her. I strongly recommend this book.

Jonie is the kind of girl I want to get to know. The first few scenes of this book had me hooked. I NEEDED to solve the mystery along with Jonie, which is of course, the sign of a great mystery novel!

I cannot explain why but this book disappointed me after reading all the good reviews it got. I read approx. half of it and then just browsed through the other half.
I found the book slow. The "family story" of the main character could have been left out.
