Murder and ghosts go hand-in-hand and vengeful spectres seeking justice or haunting the scene of the crime or their killers have adored the pages of literature since before Shakespeare. This chilling collection of true-crime tales dating from the mid-eighteenth century to the present day all feature some element of the paranormal. Gathered from across the UK, cases include the discovery of a body by a spiritual medium, a murder solved by a dream of the mother of the victim, and evidence at a Scottish murder trial provided by the ghost of the victim himself. Featuring visions, psychometry, ghosts, haunted prisons, possessions, and spriritual detectives, this book is a fascinating look at criminology and ghost hunting.
A very interesting book about the paranormal and crime. And how crime cases have come up that have been rather strange and solved by the medium's and physics. In this book you will read about some really well known cases as well as famous people in the paranormal field in England and abroad All in all a really interesting read for anybody who is into the real life paranormal. As well crime.
A varied blend of true crime stories with paranormal connections and experiences makes for an exciting premise, but for some reason a number of these stories as told by the author just failed to deliver. Most of the crime narratives are compelling (though the author's delivery was at times dry), while it just seemed that the paranormal aspect had such minuscule relevance to the solving of many of these crimes that it makes me wonder if those chapters were better left out of the finished work.
Really interesting read about crime and ghosts and psychics. There were some typos and I Personally didn’t need to hear about all the details of all the crimes. I was more interested in the psychic or ghostly parts rather than the terrible crimes.
An interesting read dealing with the use of psychic detection in criminal cases. The author offers many well-known crimes as examples and gives a good history of the subject.
Just...ok. Interesting stories, but became long winded and tired by the end. Could've done with more of the early stories. Overall, not a bad read but not the hair-raiser I was hoping for.
An interesting read - wanders a little before starting into the point of each chapter, and some are a bit more loose than others, but a very interesting read.
I found the book interesting but long-winded. The stories included were long and drawn out and this took away from the actual paranormal portions of the story. It was a decent read and I would recommend it to people interested in the paranormal rather than those interested in true crime.
