Part of the MELT DOWN circle with Reku Fuyunagi.

She writes most of her BL and shotacon manga under the pen name "Ashika Sakura", and writes tame BL and mainstream stories under Sakurako Gokurakuin.

She is most known as the original creator of "Sensitive Pornograph" and "Sekirei", which are now both anime. She seems to be authoring mostly male-oriented work than yaoi these days.

When she presents herself in the afterwords of her comics, she tends to be very shy, embarassed and modest when she writes them, which some fans find humorous because her manga can get very sexual and outrageous.

Gokurakuin is a huge fan of singer, Akina Nakamori.

I liked this more than the first volume, but not quite enough to bump it to 4/5 stars. It still hasn't done anything really remarkable with its ideas and the characters, though they're starting to develop some personality, are largely interchangeable.

Mana is a good-hearted crybaby who can't remember something traumatic that unlocked her powers. Kaname is the group emo who is spending a lot of time ruining shirts. Naoya is the flirt who revealed a large chunk of his backstory (and twin sister) in this volume. Tsukasa and Tomonori have that teacher-student large-age-gap will-they-won't-they-kiss vibe that was really popular in the early 2000s manga scene. (Looking at you, Loveless.)

It seems the villains for this series are going to be an unnamed sixth faction, led by a gothic Lolita girl complete with stuffed bunny and eager manservants. (Tsukasa is an Eraser so I take back what I said previously about them being the villains. Of our core group, Kaname the Darklore, seems to be on a slippery slope towards villainhood.)

I'm more intrigued by the second volume than the first, but I just cannot get over how evil 'Mind Breaking' sounds. Every time someone excitedly mentions that Mana Mind Broke them, I just cringe. Is it a translation quirk? 3/5

Finally having read volume two, I can safely say that the progress of this story has taken an interesting turn. It's nice that the first volume was mostly set-up and this one gives us an actual formation of the team that's unfolding. Five different young men with their supernatural gifts and the girl who awakened their powers all came together over the course of the previous book and this one, and it's nice to see them forming an allegiance and finding a purpose for their group.

I would say more, but I fear it would be giving away too many spoilers. We'll leave it at this: we get a lot more glimpses of our antagonist group. We're still only given vague clues as to what their purpose is in all this, but it's enough to pique one's curiosity.

Personally I've got a soft spot for the character Isshin and his dedication to Mana (and I would much sooner ship him with Mana than what feels like the obvious endgame ship for her.) It's also getting a little easier to recognize the characters despite design similarities.
