Decided to re-read all my Amelia books, and this was definitely my favorite. I wish I could've gone to space camp as a kid, but that's probably why Mission: Space is one of my favorite rides at Disney World.

I can't believe there are 29 books in this series! I think I only got up to the 4th book as I think I was reading them as they were coming out (??). I loved how fun these books (or should I say notebooks?) were to read. Opening them up it felt like you were reading someone's journal. Lined paper, handwritten font, illustrations, objects that were taped to the pages (drawn to look like such with tape and shadows), all came together to really create the feel of a real journal. And Amelia was such a fun narrator. I'd definitely recommend this series!

Amelia, the science-loving, artistic, and independent 5th grader takes us into her personal journal- allowing us into the inner-workings of a ten-year old's brain. The book is written to look like a journal, with drawings and personalized touches. Students will love really diving into the interesting and unique mechanics of this book. Imbedded in the hilarious stories Amelia tells is a story of bullying. Read to find out how Amelia deals with another student who is far from nice to her. This text has possible cross-curricular values because it incorporates a significant amount of science. A great resource for strong independent readers who may be dealing with bullying issues.

when Amelia starts fifth grade, she ends up without a friend.on top of that, she got the evil witch ms. busby. and if that's not bad enough,a girl named Hilary starts bullying her about everything! It seems like life is hopeless when one afternoon she gets a postcard from Nadia that says she can come to space camp with her. she tells her mom and she DOESN'T SAY NO! at space camp, she gets to be commander, just what she wanted! when she goes back to school, she tells Hilary off. this story also has the title:Amelia's bully survival guide not to be mistaken

Here is another great Amelia book that students can use to inspire their journals off of. Students can make their own journals and put anything they want in it such as stickers, stamps, wrapping paper etc to make it their own personal journal. I would encourage them to use a lot of different types of media. They would use these journals to write in when they come in the classroom every morning.

In this book, Amelia tackles the subject of school bullying. Unfortunately, sometimes there is no other recourse in dealing with a bully than to be just as mean to them. Amelia Takes Command's takeaway moral for me was this revelation, and honestly, I am here for it. Not everyone deserves kindness, especially when the bully is acting with intent.

4.5 stars I love this books. It is written liked it is a little girl in her school note book. It talks about all the fun a 5th grade girl can have. She goes to space camp, deals with stupid boys and a girl bully.....

It is fun to read but a little long for smaller kids. More for 8-12 year old I would guess. I thought it was fun!!

Hell, I know this makes me a six year old, but I can't hold it in: I LOVED how she FINALLY did a man-up in the end and actually stood up for herself.

Another fun notebook from Moss. This time Amelia is dealing with a typical middle-school bully. She deals with it by writing in her notebook and focusing on a fun science camp.
