‘Manav’ (Human Being), an epic published in 1976, deals with human nature, development and duties. This book is full of literary aesthetics and artworks by the multi-faceted Prashrit, and is considered to be his best creative work, which won the Madan Puraskar of 2023 B.S. (1967 A.D.), Nepal’s most prestigious literary award.
The book was originally published by Pasina Publishers, Lumbini in Chaitra of 2023 B.S. (1967 A.D.).

About the author

Modanath Prasrit is a Nepali writer, politician and political activist. A long time member of the Nepali communist movement, he became the Minister of Education in 2051 B.S. His writings reflect his communist ideology. His book Devasur Sangram is particularly noted for its challenge to Hindu orthodoxy. He has won Madan Puraskar for his epic 'Manav Mahakavya' in 2023 B.S.
