The Savoury Plum has kept Grace Knowles busy from pursuing her real desire of making it big as a pastry chef in London. She is tired of her small village life and her nosy twin aunts, until one evening when one of England’s elite football player lands on her doorstep in search of a wedding cake changes her life forever.

Guy Rowling is the sexy striker for the London Lion's. He would have never thought a friend’s indiscretion would land him straight in the middle of a scandal and into the life of young, innocent, Grace. Surprised by her natural beauty and flattered by her enthusiasm to help, Guy wants to get to know Grace in more ways than one and he is willing to do anything to make it happen.

Open to the prospect of a new venture for Grace and maybe romance for both, Guy and Grace embark on an unexpected sizzling sexual love affair. Yet envious foes do not like the budding romance between the couple and want to ensure that they are permanently separated. As the pressure mounts, Grace and Guy wonder if their relationship can survive under the glittering lights of the paparazzi, determined enemies, bitter family and the test of time.

Set in modern day England against the backdrop of the English country and city side, Delicious is filled with steamy sex, glitz, glamour, wealth and romance. Delicious is the first novel in the Rumour Mill Series.

Erica Hutchings is the author of Delicious: A Rumour Mill Novel which she self-published through her own boutique publishing house, Paper Rabbit Books. She was born on a beautiful late spring day in Brooklyn, NY. She was raised in Bushwick, Brooklyn and on the South Shore of Long Island until her twenties when she moved back into the City. She attributes her love of writing from her childhood years when she faithfully watched the PBS show Reading Rainbow and read authors such as V.C. Andrews, Sidney Sheldon, and Jackie Collins.

During her teenage years, Erica was told by her English teachers that she should pursue a career in writing and journalism. She won various awards in English literature and debate. Unfortunately due to financial restraints Erica was unable to attend university and settled for working in various positions such as jewelry repair and real estate sales in New York City.

In her mid-twenties, Erica met and fell in love with her British husband to be. She moved to the U.K., married, and went to the University of Bedford where she gained a degree in Business. After five years of living abroad and complications with getting pregnant, Erica and her husband made the decision to return stateside. Shortly after their return, Erica soon learned she was pregnant with her first child, a son. After the birth, they moved from Brooklyn, NY to San Antonio, TX.

It was during her second pregnancy with her second son that Erica decided to write her first novel, Delicious and publish it. Although she considers it to be not her finest work, Delicious became relatively successful and readers often ask when the follow up to Delicious will be released. Due to health issues, Erica had to place the series on hold indefinitely.

There will be a new stand alone novel to be published in Summer 2019 relaunching Erica’s career as an author, publisher and cementing the foundations for her future success. She’ll also be blogging about her lifestyle, recipes, home decor and more to wet the appetites of those interested.

Currently, Erica resides in Hill Country, TX with her adoring handsome husband, two lovely feisty playful sons, a royalty believing cat named Lily and a dirty dog named Harry.

This riveting read was filled with fantastic prose, steamy sex, and well written 3 dimensional characters. It shows that one can include erotica in one's books without allowing it to descend into pornography. Great book, for men, women; and couples to, shall we say, enjoy together. Nudge, Nudge, wink, wink.

VERY WELL DONE MS. HUTCHINGS

I won this book through a Firstreads Giveaway.

I have never walked away from a book before. Never. No matter how bad a book turns out to be, I can usually soldier through it.

Eventually.

But I just... I had to walk away from this one. I had to. I couldn't bring myself to finish it. I don't condone book burning, but if there had been a fire going near me, I probably would have chucked this one into the flames. I was so frustrated, for lack of a better word, that I almost started a fire myself, just for the pleasure of watching this one burn and not having to admit about it being a part of my collection anymore.

Basically, this book reads like a fanfiction. Not because the characters remind me of anything, or because the story-line seems just a tad too familiar, but because of the writing. I have read alot of fanfiction in my days, and to me, this just reads like a lemon - a term used to describe a fanfic that contains explicit sexual content - that was written by a twelve year old girl who has gained all her knowledge of sex and writing from reading other lemons that are also horribly written. It's just... crap. Complete and utter crap, I'm sorry to say.

There's this line from the first paragraph of the story that sort of told me that this was not going to be a fun ride for me. "His best friend and groom, Darren Dowling's wedding was only four days away and Darren completely utterly screwed it up literally." I left nothing out and I changed nothing; that is exactly how that sentence reads in the copy of the book I have.

Yeah. It hurt my brain to read that, too.

I think, though, what really bugged me the most about this book and just made me decide that this was not a book I was going to be finishing, was the dialogue. Oh, the dialogue. It just... No. It was so... Robotic. Miss Erica Hutchings didn't really use contractions in the dialogue so everything was so formal and almost forced. No human being talks the way these characters do. I'm sorry, they just don't. I don't know what possessed her to write like that, but she could not have done a worse job.

One final thing I ought to mention was the obvious lack of proof-reading. How hard is it, really, to run something through a spell-check? Or hand it off to a family member or friend who excels in English? I mean, I may not be aces when it comes to grammar and punctuation, but at least, when it comes to something like a report for school or just something that's really important to me, I run it through a spell-check at least a dozen times and reread it until I get sick of every last word on the page, so would it have killed Miss Hutchings to run it through a spell-check at least one or two times? Or at least to have read over it once or twice?

All of this just brings me back to what I said before: this book reads like a fanfiction that was written by a twelve year-old girl. I absolutely do not recommend reading this unless you're a bit of a masochist, and even then I would proceed with caution.

You have been warned.

Ok. I give up looking to read this for free coz I can't buy it coz my parents prob wont let me and I don't have the money. I liked the first 5 chpts but then again I didn't finished but I am really interested and want to read more sobi think it is only fair if I rate it 4 stars. Since I only read 5 chapts I'm not going to say anything but I really really like the start of the book and that it seems to be going somewhere interesting

Delicious is an erotic romance novel with great potential. It tells a good story, but unfortunately errors that could be fixed with some editing detract from the overall experience as it is right now. With some editing love, Delicious could very well be a new favorite for fans of the genre.

The pros: Erica Hutchings knows how to spin a good story. Rather than being a cookie cutter example of a book, here the plot contains some exciting twists and a great cast of colorful characters. Each of these people has their own agenda, all of which weave together nicely in the tale of Grace and Guy's relationship. The end product is a romance that incorporates some of the sexy, salacious, and seedy elements of the celebrity lifestyle. If reading up on your favorite celebs and their latest escapades is one of your guilty pleasures, then you'll find much to enjoy in this book.

The cons: As it is at the moment, Delicious has its share of grammatical and other such mistakes. The good news is that these can easily be fixed with some editing.

As for the love scenes, I have to say that, in my opinion, they were about 80% hot and 20% silly. I'm not sure of the solution here - I have wondered before how authors of erotica novels can manage to write so many of these scenes without just repeating the same material over again, or else resorting to some giggle-inducing imagery.

So in conclusion, I do think Delicious has the potential to be great. It just needs some more TLC from an editor. Then, not only will this book be improved, but the entire Rumour Mill series could be a great success in the world of erotic romance. Bravo, and good luck!

DNF: I got a few chapters in a realized that this just wasn't for me. The blurb appealed with a soccer player hero (I love soccer!) but I found the dialogue between the characters to be very stiff and almost unnatural. The author chose not to use contractions and it stands out, in a bad way. I couldn't get past how the conversation wasn't flowing smoothly and there wasn't enough introduced story wise to keep me interested.
