*sigh* I love books like this. Short, sweet, and just what every romantic wishes for.

Amanda is all about work work work, but when Jake, her childhood crush, shows up what she thought she wanted quickly changes. Amanda has been in love with Jake since they were kids and has never forgotten their kiss underneath the trees after their homecoming dance. Problem is Jake took off and ran after their kiss and now that he is back begging to get into her bed she isn't so sure she can be a one night stand and go through the pain again. Jake wants Amanda, plain and simple only he wants her for way longer than his normal relationships if you can call them that last. He only has to prove to her that he is worth taking a chance on.

These two were so much fun! I love the whole childhood friend turned lovers storyline and Time Changes Everything is definitely one of the funnest I have read. Their banter was hilarious and they were so sweet together. My favorite part was when they went back home to their meddling families for Christmas. Their moms were so funny and I smiled from ear to ear the entire time. My only complaint is that I wish Amanda would have been the one at the end to make it all right. Jake deserved for her to come crawling back and I really wanted her to prove her love to him. The ending was sweet and I liked it, but Amanda needed to show Jake she was ready to take the leap. But I can't really complain Jake was sweet from the get go and I really couldn't have expected anything less from him.

Other than that I really enjoyed this and I will definitely keep my eye open for more from this author!

I thought this book was great. Humorous in places, sweet in others. And some great heat too! A quick, fun read and a really cute couple.

Amanda thinks there is nothing more important than her big shot in the fashion industry and she is much too busy to be going out for her friend's birthday party. However, it is a long standing tradition and so she can't disappoint them. She never expected to run into her long-time crush, Jake, who used to live next door to her. To her surprise, her feelings haven't changed, and the attraction is immediate.

There are times when Amanda makes her life more difficult than she has to, but I understood why she did it. She is afraid to trust what she is feeling (or maybe what Jake is), and she also doesn't want to lose the things she has worked so hard for in her career.

Jake, though unwilling to commit in the past to a woman, is actually a very swoon-worthy male who I quite enjoyed. He will have his hands full convincing his "Mandy" that they should become something permanent and tell their parents - who have likely had the pairs' wedding planned for years anyway.

I loved the chemistry between Jake and Amanda. This is actually one of the first contemporary romance I have read instead of the romantic suspense genre (I'm usually about the suspense stuff), but I thought this was a lot of fun. Oh, the secondary characters are all great, but Mandy's niece stole the show for me and I really enjoyed her.

All in all, a bang up job for Melinda's debut novel and a 5-star rating from me.

When I read this I was looking for something light and this totally fit the bill. It was a friends to lovers story which is one of my favorite themes.

Amanda and Jake were best friends then one day the line was crossed.

After this they went there separate ways. Jake became a player where Amanda became focused on her career instead of love but fate had different plans. Then once again Jake and Amanda meet up but can they become more.

Because they had history together being together their relationship escalated quickly. Outside influences tried to keep them apart but sometimes love is enough. Or is it????

Sweet story about passion, drive, friendship, second chances, hope and love.

First love can be so brutal, especially when it’s not reciprocated. Amanda and Jake grew up together and when they got older and he kissed her, then left, it broke her teenage heart. Now seven years later, it seems like Jake will be getting some of his own medicine. Amanda’s not ready to commit. She has entirely too much going on.

Jake finally finds the woman who is the ONE, only to find out he’s known her all his life. It’s his little squirt. When he’s ready to try a relationship, she’s wary. She keeps pushing him away putting everything else first.

When Amanda suffers Jake’s absence because of her reluctance to commit she realizes she doesn’t want anything if she can’t have Jake.

I really didn’t know if these two would ever get their stuff together. Jake was scared to commit. He’s never done it before and doesn’t understand why he should now. Amanda is scared to give her heart to him again. Once they both pulled their heads out and realized what they were losing they came together in a very romantic way.

Ms. Dozier pulled me in slowly and had me wanting to pop Amanda upside the head. Usually it’s the hero who I want to smack, but not in this case. This new author shows some strong promise as an up and coming author. I can’t wait to see how her future works progress.

Oh, Jake!

I feel like I’ve been waiting forever to read this book. It’s been on my goodreads TBR for months. I read the prequel, Boy Next Door, on Smashwords two weeks ago. And finally, FINALLY I get to meet grown-up Mandy and Jake.

And it was totally worth the wait.

Melinda Dozier has crafted two fabulous characters -- one a feisty, independent woman who takes charge of her life and follows her dreams. The other a sexy, successful attorney whose heartbreaking past leaves him with a major fear of commitment. Mandy and Jake are well developed, brilliantly written, and completely charming. Dozier does a fabulous job immersing us in her characters’ world, letting us glimpse their love story from their childhood interactions to their tentative exploration of their adult feelings. And speaking of adult feelings, I should admit that I’m quite the prude, and I had to read a few scenes with my fingers over my eyes. But for fans of steamy romance, I think Ms. Dozier’s writing will be more than satisfactory. ;)

Five stars to Time Changes Everything. I only wish this were the first in a series - I’d love to see what happens next for Mandy and Jake!

i have to say that i love this book. you have a woman Amanda that is determine to make it in the fashion world. she wants to be able to get her mother approval. so she works hard everyday at macy's and then she gets noticed to do a fashion show for denalo. one night Amanda is out with her two best girlfriends to celebrate one of there birthdays. in that same bar jake was there as well with his friend. never would jake the bachelor that he is would have thought that his present and past would meet up again. but his high school neighbor was in the bar, one that he had a bond with in high school. they shared a kiss and had ran away from the connection that they shared. to scared to commit didn't want to get hurt. but he always and wondered about her. little did he know she wondered about him. little did he know that she had a crush on him from the first time they met. who would know that this one night would start a love spark that neither was looking for. you will love this couple and the story of how the relationship sparks. there is passion, love, and a happy ending.

I loved this story about Mandy and Jake. It's a sweet story with just the right amount of heat thrown in to spice things up. My only complaint was that it was too short. I want to know what happens next!

The title of this book is absolutely spot-on perfect!! I adored reading Amanda (Mandy) and Jake's story. Their history of growing up together made the tension throughout the story electrifying as they explored new ventures. Mandy's priorities and fears got a bit annoying at times, yet I also understood her perspective. I found myself rooting for the score in this book and I'm left craving more of Mandy and Jake's story. Melinda wrote this book just right to give it the feel of a full length novel as the breaks between chapters were perfect and not a lot was skipped out. I connected with the longing, desire, angst, and hopefulness throughout the read. Again, this may be a short read but it had the emotions, history, and life of a full-length novel. Give it a try!!

Wow! This was a fabulous book and I am so glad that I got to know Mandy and Jake. I understand the pain of not wanting to be hurt in a relationship. Mandy and Jake both had their doubts but I liked that Jake realized how much her cared and wanted to be with her, even if it was out of his realm of experience.
I can’t help but think there was more to the Dominic relationship and that he hurt Mandy in more ways than one. I loved this story and can’t wait to read more from this great author

Time Changes Everything by Melinda Dozier Time Changes Everything by Melinda Dozier Was an entertaining book and by far and away the best part about it was the end. I LMAO! The characters were pretty well-developed and the storyline was entertaining, but I was having a difficult time with the dialogue. I kept rolling my eyes and getting irritated at what I felt were unreasonable responses to certain things. The prequel to this, The Boy Next Door had the same problem. It's why, though I liked both stories, and only gave them 3 stars.

Phew phew! Bestfriends turning into lovers really is one of my favorite scenarios. The relationship Amanda and Jake had and has started confusing and complicated at first but the tension is really there. It will get the readers thinking when it is really known that you are in love. When everyone around you is sure that you are, then what would stop you?

Amanda and Jake both had their issues and being with them figuring it out by reading this book has been interesting. One is afraid to commit and the other is scared if the other can really start to commit. Complicated, eh? But that ending was so perfect and sweet, you'd be jealous!
