This is a short and simple story about a girl who discovers her pet mouse has had babies and want to go to a friends house to tell her the news. This would have made a fun silly story if all the animals had just lived with these humans but as they were caged it gave the story an unpleasant element that didn't need to be there. As the story made it clear they were pets it didn't consider the animals feelings or how you might behave around an animal which had just given birth or whether it was appropriate to have all these animals, many of them wild animals in a house.
I didn't care very much for this book because it was kind of plain and short. With that being said I think this could be a very good book for kids who are just learning to read on their own. I think kids will like the different animals and events happening and I think they will like some of the chaotic drawings. I probably wouldn't read this out loud to a class as a whole though.
This book was about how a girl was afraid of going to Mary Bloom's house because she thought all of these things would happen but when she finally did go there to tell her that her mouse was having babies, none of the stuff she thought was going to happen ended up happening after all.
