The road to redemption...

Struggling single mom Corinne Dawson doesn't have time for fun. She's too busy making a new life for her son and trying to avoid being dragged down by the ghost of who she used to be. But when an accident knocks her boss out of a local dance competition fund-raiser, she finds herself face-to-face with the worst mistake from her past.

Attorney Tucker McGee has always seen past the prickly exterior of this former mean girl. He knows there's more to the story than simple spite. When they get partnered for Dancing With Wishful, he finally gets the chance to act on the spark he's felt since she moved home. But getting past her regrets just might be the biggest challenge he's ever faced.

As the competition heats up, so do the feelings between them. Will Tucker be able to convince Corinne that she's more than the sum of her mistakes? Or will she be forced to leave town to find a new beginning without him?

I have loved Tucker since the first time he strutted onto the page in Wishful. And after she was instrumental in healing the rift between Tyler and Brody, I knew there had to be more to Corinne than we had so far seen. There are parts of this book that don’t make for easy reading, in the same way that the nightly news isn’t always the easiest viewing. The people who are supposed to love us the most are also the ones with the greatest ability to hurt us. Sometimes they take advantage of that situation and we’re left to pick up the pieces in the aftermath. This is where we find Tucker and Corinne, healing from wounds inflicted by people who were supposed to love them. I thought this was a beautiful story of love, life, redemption, and recovery.

I fell in love with Tucker in a previous book when he gave up lead in the town production to match make between Brody and Tyler.

Do you need to have read that previous book to get into this one? Not a chance. That is just what propelled me to pick up Turn My World Around. I wanted to see what happens with Tucker.

And trust me when I say you want to know what happens to Tucker, too.

Corinne is a compelling character. She has returned to her hometown with a less than ideal life. She's divorced. No one knows the circumstances. She has a young son. He has no male role model. She was a popular, yet mean, girl in high school and that is all anyone sees when they look at her. Everyone but Tucker.

Corinne's employer gives her a second chance with a job and motherly advice she is not getting at home, where she is once again living.

Does Tucker get the rest of the town to forget the past? Does Corinne stay in the town to try and reset her reputation?

Pick up a copy of Turn My World Around and find out.

Disclaimer: I received an advance copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Oh my goodness! Tucker 🥰 He has been one of my favorites since I started this wonderful series! So I was happy to finally be reading his book! Tucker is the one guy everyone wants to be friends with. He kind and such sweetheart! I knew he that he would be perfect with Corinne. Corinne was not so nice in high school so I was happy to see that Tucker saw past that and stuck by her side. I knew it was going to be something special. He did everything to make it work for Corinne and he didn’t leave out her son Kurt. Their love story for sure had some ups and downs but I’m glad they made it worked! Tucker and Corinne were absolutely perfect! 🥧🥰

Can’t wait to go back to Wishful and catch up with this amazing group of friends 💛

I have read all 6 of Southern Romance series and Kait has improved with each story. I am a sucker for single parent stories as this one we have Corrine and son Kurt falling in love with Tucker. We have a Dancing with the stars local contest and Kait bringing to our attention an abusive relationship all in one story I loved it keep up the great writing Kait.

Everybody loves Love

This is a really good story. I liked the whole 'Dancing the Wishful' fundraiser and how that made Tucker and Corinne come together.

Corinne was busy trying to rebuild her world from the ground up. It was unfortune that she had to go back to her mother who assured Corinne she was nothing but a failure and couldn't do anything right. You wonder if her impressionable son Kurt picked up on those bad vibes?

Tucker had the biggest crush on Corinne when they were in high school, but she didn't know he was the one who was leaving daily notes and occasional tiny gifts in her locker. Flowers. Candy. Nothing out of this world. Just something simple, but it was the regular messages reminding her she was someone special that had touched her. Those notes got her through some dark days. Corinne kept those notes.

Tucker had a confession: he had the biggest crush on her in high school and he was the one who left all of those things in her locker. He told her: "because sometimes a cheerleader needs a cheerleader."

He had been concerned about how she thought she was good enough - for anything or anyone. "Stop letting the opinion of a**holes be your truth. You are talented, beautiful, hardworking woman. It's time to start believing that."

Tucker took a shining to Kurt from the very beginning but that left Corinne concerned in case their relationship didn't work out. That boy needed a father. Some men are born to be daddies and that's what Tucker was to Corinne's son. Kurt needs a good role-model since Lance given up all his parental rights last year without a thought. Couldn't have a rugrat messing up his new life.

In the end, Tucker and Corinne won the dancing contest pretty much hands down along with the pool Mama Pearl started on Dinner Belles voting on the love life of these two and hoping they would find their way to each other.

"I don't understand." Corinne stood wide-eyed looking at Tucker. "You bought a house?" It wasn't just a house. He pulled out his hand and her sight fell to the ring in his palm.

"Ohmygod!"

Tucker took a deep breath and dropped to one knee. "Will you and Kurt marry me, be my family, come and live with me in this house?" After-all, they were a packaged deal and it was a pretty awesome picture.

"Say yes, Mama! Say yes! Tucker said if you say yes, I can get a puppy!

Marriage, family, house, and dog? In that order? Not much of a choice, is there?

I guess it doesn't get any better that. I suggest you read this whole series. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Happy reading!

One step forward and two steps back

I loved this small town single mom, former mean girl romance. The story was filled with all the emotions, the connections and the love. Tucker is lawyer in small town Wishful. Lately all his friends have paired up and he’s feeling adrift. Corinne is a divorced single mom of 5 year old Kurt. She is working as a waitress while going to nursing school. She grew up in Wishful and was a mean girl in HS and is trying to show the town who she is now. Tucker had a teenage crush on Corrine in HS but in the year she’s been back in town, he’s got a bigger crush on the grown up woman. When they’re paired together for a local dance competition, sparks fly and the journey to their HEA starts in earnest. I loved the way Tucker gently, lovingly, and beautifully helped Corrine come out of her trauma/guilt-caused prison and begin to shine. To get to their HEA they’ll be a lot of baggage unpacking and Tucker has to practice dancing one step forward and two steps back to get them there together. I have a soft spot for the people who are a bit uncomfortable in their skin because they don’t feel like they fit in or are worthy, like Corrine. So I love when they finally see their truth and their worth and they get swoon worthy HEAs. The story was well written and included engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and a captivating storyline and will have you feeling all the deep emotions along the way. I am excited to read more this wonderful series.

It’s good to get back to Wishful, that small southern town that’s so similar to every other small town in America, only not quite. Anyone who grew up in small-town America will relate to this series. They’ll totally understand all the undercurrents that run through the town and how utterly frustrating, but endearing, the people are.

Turn My World Around is book six in the series. I had to read some of my old reviews and the book blurbs from this series to remember exactly who Tucker McGee was. Hey, I’ve read a lot of books since my last Wishful book, give me a break! It didn’t take long...Tucker made an impression in that first book. It was nice to finally have a story that was all about him. It was also great to reconnect with all of the others from Wishful, to see where their lives have gone, and to see where they’re headed.

If you like a story about a single parent trying to make a new life, an adorable little boy, and the town golden boy, you’ll like this one! It’s sweet with just a little bit of spice and drama, it’s about truly earning forgiveness and accepting that may never happen, and most of all it’s about turning your life around and never giving up.

I quite like the Wishful series; every book is a standalone, so you can read them completely out of order (although chronologically is, of course, better), and still not miss anything.
Corinne Dawson, struggling single parent, came back to Wishful after her marriage disaster. The problem? She used to be one of the "mean" girls in High School, and the residents of Wishful have long-reaching memories. She does not have time for the latest project to save Wishful, but when her boss is incapacitated through an accident, there is not a lot she can do but help.
Attorney Tucker McGee has always liked Corinne, seeing the hurt little girl inside her mean outer shell, and when he is partnered with her at the latest Wishful project, he cannot believe his luck. But it will take a lot of patience to get past her barriers.
Very well told story of regrets, prejudices, and 2nd chances, with sympathetic characters readers might recognise from previous books. A good plot, enough twists and turns to keep the story interesting, and intense and also humorous dialogues make this book a joy to read.

I really enjoyed it!

I love this small town southern series that takes place in Wishful, MS. In this story, Tucker is an attorney and a man everyone loves. It seems he's quite the dancer as well. Corinne, on the other hand, is the "mean girl" from high school. She has returned to town after surviving an awful marriage and has worked exceeding hard to turn her life around for her five year old son Kurt. Yet is Tucker the only one who acknowledges that? No, there's Mama Pearl from Dinner Belles who is highly supportive by giving her a job and encouraging her to go after her dreams of becoming a nurse and giving Tucker a chance.

Kait paints quite a picture of a woman struggling to believe she is worthy of love and acceptance no matter how much she has changed. And Tucker? Well, he's the perfect, patient gentleman. I really enjoyed this story and the cute interactions with young Kurt!

I am not sure how to rate this book. I enjoyed it, but I also kept expecting more from it. I was waiting for it to hit a peak it never reached. I was invested, but also waiting for more to really bring me into the story. By the end, however, I was invested enough to sign up for the author's newsletter for a bonus epilogue, so I definitely cared about the characters.
This is a pretty basic romance. Nothing spectacular, but nothing terrible either. Which, with all the duds I've read lately, a story that I can enjoy all the way through without wanting to slap one of the main characters is welcome.
This story was sweet, with a hero who believed in the heroine even when she didn't believe in herself. For a story including heavy topics, I expected the book to delve more into those topics, but it handled them in a surface-level manner. The sex scenes were mild and tender.
Overall, I give this one a 3.75 out of 5.

I hadn't read the description carefully enough to catch the "mean girl" part, because if I had I probably wouldn't have even tried the book... and that would have been a shame! As a target of mean girls and bullies not only in high school but from 3rd grade on, I don't have much sympathy for the breed, but Ms. Nolan hooks the reader in by introducing the heroine as she is *now* not how she was then, and we're instantly sympathetic to her plight... and for heaven's sakes it has been 10 years, people need to get over themselves. And they do! The whole thing was handled wonderfully by the author, a great balancing act of bringing Corinne through the tricky maze of public opinion. I thought it was great how she worked the conflict with Whitney, her old ex-best-friend. This was just a great read that left me smiling! I'll be going back to read the rest of the series now!

Second Chance Romance

When mean girl Corrine returns home after surviving a bad marriage she finds that old memories of her bad deeds are hard to escape. Enter Tucker the town sweetie who has wanted Corrine since high school. Small town success reunites with small town reformed bully.

The author paints a verbally abused girl trying to survive also trying to make amends for past bad behavior. She’s also struggling to make a better life for her son and herself. My issue with Corrine is her lack of maturity about her personal life. Instead of talking, facing her issues she runs away. If ever there was a candidate for counseling, even group therapy, Corrine is it.

Of course, Tucker is the perfect guy but at least he isn’t saving the day all the time. Corrine eventually proves she can be a better person than high school would indicate. Overall, good read.

Strength and persiverance

Abuse of any kind visit unacceptable. Being aware and being a part of breaking the cycle takes guts, strength, courage and persiverance. Ms. Nolan's overall quality of writing through the Wishful series has been amazing. To incorporate the best parts of this small town, along with the not so good has been an amazing journey. Touching on such an important topic of abuse was really commendable. Each book in the series is a stand alone, yet a chance to reconnect with previous members of the community. Each has a wish, and each has the wish answered. How? You must read to find out and it is so worth it! No cheating, some bad language, some intimacy scenes and a whole lot of good reading. Enjoy!

“Turn My World Around:A Small Town Southern Romance”(Wishful Romance Book 6)

This was a really good, very easy read. Its the kind of book you want when you don’t want to think too much.A woman with a young son, living with a curmudgeon mother, just graduating from nursing school, working double shifts at the diner to make ends meet. And a man,a lawyer, and all around good person, who decides to have a town “Dancing With the Stars type benefit to build an addiction to the local women’s shelter. They somehow get partnered together and start getting reacquainted after high school years before.
It’s a fun book in a lot of ways but for some real problems that make you think, and that’s a good thing.Hopefully you’ll read this and like it as much as I.

5 star review Turn My Workd Around (Wishful #6)by Kait Nolan

Audio Review:

This was an entertaining romantic story that ticked the boxes for me. Well written, the narration by Amy Mc Fadden was good and her voice was easy to listen to. From the first chapter I was hooked on the story that was told. The characters were easy to relate to and I really liked them. The chemistry between them was intense and I found myself laughing out loud on a number of occasions with the witty banter and humour. The secondary characters were just as entertaining and I hope to see more of them at a future date. This book is a little gem that I have no trouble recommending. Amy McFadden certainly did justice to the characters and the wonderful story that the author created

I was a little worried that because I've been looking forward to Tucker & Corrine's story for so long that Kait Nolan might not have been able to live up to my expectations. I should know better!

I loved this story. Former mean girl Corrine catches the attention of town sweetheart Tucker. We learn that Tucker has actually had his eye on this single mom for quite some time. Norah has more ideas and this time Wishful has a dance contest. More townsfolk scheme landing Tucker & Corrine as partners. Toss in Corinne's adorable son and I was totally hooked.

While absolutely a sexy romance, this is also a lovely story of repentance and redemption. There's a fabulous HEA, for Corinne as an individual and for her relationship with Tucker.

Amy McFadden rocks this again. The emotions were strong with this one and well done. I continue to be thrilled with this writer/narrator team.

Insightful and compelling romance

As always, Kait Nolan takes you down a path to unexpected love, with a variety of hiccups along the way.
While the regular formula of get together, break up and a joyful reunion is always present in her books, Nolan always manages to add a fresh take on the challenges faced by her couples.
This book focuses on Corinne's redemption from her bullying ways in her high school years and neatly tackles the issue of domestic violence.
A great read, it led me to several late nights and neglected housework

I have been provided with a copy of Turn My World Around by the author for an impartial review. This is another wonderful book in the Wishful Romance series. This book just had my emotions all over the place. In this beautiful story you get to learn more about Corinne Dawson who we have previously met in an earlier Wishful Romance book and finally see why she is the way she is. I loved getting to see Corinne and Tucker together and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing their journey throughout this story. I can’t wait to read more by this author.

A small town romance. It’s about giving someone a second chance even though you believe they do not deserve it. It’s about the one person that can understand and love you despite your ugliness because they see you and gets where you’re coming from. Tucker loved Corinne despite all of her meanness. He saw and knew the real Corinne and had secretly loved her. As a child Corinne never saw Tucker but as adults he was the only one willing to give her another chance. This read was ok but the concept of it I loved. So it was a good read.

Overall a good story of Tucker, a well-liked, well-respected attorney in Wishful, and Corinne, who regrets having been a "mean girl" in high school and is trying to make a new life for herself and her young son after getting out of an abusive marriage. There's not a lot of angst in the story except for a lot of the town folk who can't seem to forget what Corinne was like in high school.

The main characters are well-developed. I thought Corinne's mother changed her behavior rather abruptly though.

The book has a satisfying HEA.

Tucker has been there for all,of his friends. He is successful, a lawyer. When Corrine, a high school classmate, returns to Wishful, with her little boy, he remembers how much he liked her back the. Corrine has left an abusive relationship and is beginning her new life. She is going to be a nurse. As the dance completion fund raiser is announced, he gets paired with Corrine, with a little bit of help from Mama Pearl. As Corrine works to right the many wrongs she did back in school, one by one, she wins over Tucker’s friends. Will they make it together? I found this story engaging.

I loved this book! It was great getting to know Corinne, who had been a small role in the previous books in the series, find out about her past and then watch her fall in love. This story felt more realistic than some of the previous love-at-first-sight stories. This couple is a bit more practical — not to say there weren’t incredible moments of chemistry and sparks or wildly romantic gestures — and that made it more relatable. I enjoyed this story and look forward to reading the next!

A small town fundraiser dance competition leads to romance second chances.

She is a single mom with her mind on finishing nursing school, passing her exams, and getting a job nursing. She's working as a waitress full time, studying full time and being a mom full time. He's a local lawyer who's had a crush on her since high school. And her boss just volunteered her to be his partner in the fundraiser.

I have been waiting to Tucker to get his HEA. He has been in earlier books and has always been there for his friends, strong and willing to help where needed. Corinne is a single mum, trying to do her best to atone for her previous mistakes and make life better for herself and her son. She and Tucker are so good together. This story has lots of emotions, it will take you on a rollercoaster ride all the way to the HEA. I love the Wishful series and look forward to reading more.

Very heartwarming story.

I loved this book, but it did start a little slow for me. But once I realized how brave Corinne was for returning to her hometown, I couldn’t put the book down. She’s really worked hard at becoming a better person. Loved how good Tucker was for her and her son. Had some tears a few times. This book is worth re reading, and I had some happy tears in the end. I highly recommend this book.

Make a wish at the fountain in Wishful Mississippi

Sometimes the life lessons we learn are hard and painful. Corinne has struggled to make life better for her son and herself. You'll enjoy learning how Tucker and Corinne end up as partners in a dancing competition/fund raiser for Wishful's Women's Shelter. Can former high school classmates forgive Corinne's former "mean girl" reputation and support Tucker's desire for a relationship with Corinne?

I read this one years ago and just listened to the audio. This is one of the books in the series I've only read once (some have been 2 or 3 times) so some of the details had slipped my mind over the years. I forgot how much corrine had changed. It was great to see good guy tucker get his happy ending after the meddling he did helping his friends in previous books. As always, Amy McFadden did a fantastic job on audio
