Notes to Reviewers and Readers: The Blood-Hunter Race or Elders have been on Earth for several millennia. Use of contractions like I'm, don't or can't is not practiced. They use a refined way of speech. Also, please read the CURRENT edition of my books. There are several OLD editions out in circulation. Please contact me at guido.emily@gmail.com, I will provide a current edition.
The Elder Council is still knocking and they will not back down. If only they would have listened to their Queen. Charmeine tried to warn them of the dangers that awaited them, she pleaded with them, she spoke the truth, but their eyes and hearts were closed. The dangers that her family had to face and the hardships that they endured could have been avoided had they only listened. Now the damage has been done and the love and tenderness that we have grown to adore between Charmeine and Tabbruis is shattered. It’s like taking the marshmallows away from your hot chocolate. Two lost individuals, who once lived as if they were one, are now torn apart- both searching for answering and knowing the answer is right in front of them. But can they stay apart when their love for each other is such a strong and emotional current? With this bond broken, will the Elder Council succeed in their mission?
It just keeps on getting better and better! After reading Charmeine and Mactus, I had to know what was going to happen next to Charmeine and her family and Emily just keeps on writing a superior series. The action is non-stop and between the romance and the fighting with the Light-bearers, Blood Hunters, and the Elder Council, I cannot tell you what I enjoy the most. Charmeine, what a fireball! She seems so timid and loving in just the right moment and then bam! off she goes. I want her on my team any day. I am not into gushy romance books but this book is so sweet and tender with the right amount of romance that the words feel not forced, but free flowing and true. Looking forward to book #4.
Charmeine and Tabbruis are two angels made by God for each other and now that they have been reunited on Earth they must combine forces to save it. Charmeine and Tabbruis know that they must fight the Elder Council in order to save Blood-Hunters, Light-Bearers and Humans, but can they save their family too? As the past is remembered and the future revealed, will their love survive? Lies, fears and a breach of trust could come between them, which could mean they would lose each other along with their family.
Charmeine is a stong heroine with a very unique, rough past, yet she has found the love of her existence and she has a caring family. However in the third installment of The Light-Bearer Series, Charmeine’s inner fears are shown as she struggles with her role in the prophecy. These fears remind the readers of her past and they give her a more relatable charm. Fans of the series will be taken on a heart-wrenching journey throughout the book that will leave them all speechless at the end. Guido has created a fascinating world filled with examples of compassion versus judgment, trust versus fears and faith versus doubt. Readers will be impatiently tapping their fingers as they wait for the arrival of the fourth book.
Notes: Emily Guido provided a copy of this book for me to review. To learn more about the author and this book, please visit her website: http://emilyguido.com This review was originally posted on my website: http://ariesgrlreview.com
I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.
Firstly I would love to thank Emily Guido, author of Accendo for giving me this wonderful opportunity for reading and reviewing this fabulous book.
WOW! I never saw that coming, I mean the wonderful twists and turns that this book took totally knocked me over and left me total shocked with the outcome at the end. I loved the writing style of the author and it took the book a notch higher in it's awesomeness.
Charmeine is a heck of a heroine, she is emotionally strong and doesn't back out when her family needs her the most. She crossed limits to hold on to the trust of her family and keep them save.
The suspense is eerie and the mystery that the author introduced in this story is really remarkable but it spiced up the read even if it made me chomp on my remaining nails, but I won't complaint!
Love, loyalty, trust are put through dangerous tests and betrayal and hatred will threaten to overpower them all shattering their bond and making them weak and lost. Will they be able to fight back as a family? Will Charmeine and Tabruis be strong enough to save their love and keep trusting each other?
Well I will recommend you to go through this gripping read and find out the answers because once you start it I bet that you won't be able to stop. A totally action-packed, heart wrenching, breath stopping read which will haunt your dreams for days.
Action, adventure, fangs, love, glory, and redemption is all in this book! I have to say that this book is so romantic and extremely non-predictable. The author, Emily Guido, had me guessing up until the last. I was cheering and crying at the same time. I have read "Charmeine" and "Mactus" and I thought it was a ride, but "Accendo" doesn't disappoint.
Okay without giving away the plot, I was really crying when someone doesn't return from the battle and just was in shock! I thought, "How is this happening?" Then the author makes the best come true for all. Meanwhile Tabbruis learns a hard fact that heros come in different shapes and sizes.
I'm telling you I thought "Charmeine" and "Mactus" was awesome but this book is wonderful. I really can't wait for the next book "Seditious" to be released.
The third installment of the Light Bearer’s Series, is best read in series order. Accendo follows Charmeine and the fight for her destiny, ensuring the safety of her love, Tabbruis. A never-ending set of challenges that test both the physical and emotional strength of the hero and heroine; their faith in their reconfirmed love is a source of strength they draw upon repeatedly. Remaining one step in front of the elders as they face loss, insecurity and danger creates a page turning tension. The author has deftly created a world that will excite and enchant with unusual settings, twists and turns all created with beautiful writing that transports the reader into a new world.
I was provided a copy of the book from author for purpose of BTS eMagazine Reviews. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.
WOW! "Accendo" is a wonderful book full of twists and turns in "The Light-Bearer Series."
Like other couples in real life, Tabbruis and Charmeine have personal issues to overcome.
Emily Guido, writes not a perfect couple but a couple who loves one another but is flawed like we all are. It is refreshing.
The action is at a high and fast pace. When I think I know what is going on, the plot twists and warps into something completely different. I laughed and cheered while reading.
I just loved Shane and his struggles made me feel so sad for him.
I do not want to giveaway the ending but God Blesses the wonderful couple Tabbruis and Charmeine.
Wonderful book and can't wait for "Seditious" the Fourth Novel in "The Light-Bearer Series."
Well, Emily did it again with the third installment of The Light Bearer series. We find Charmeine, Tabbruis and the rest of their family fighting a battle they aren't sure they can win. They have their family back but can they hold on to it? Accendo is about fighting for and trusting the person you love no matter the consequences and no matter how bleak the outcome appears. It's about the belief that time nor space could ever separate two people who are meant to be. I loved that their road was far from easy and at times it would have been easier to just give up but they never did. I will definitely be waiting for the next installment in this awesome spellbinding series.
It’s wonderful, exciting when a book starts with the plans for a huge battle! And that’s just what book three in this series starts with. We find our heroine and hero experiencing the ups and downs that most real relationships have. Ms. Guido makes them real in that respect. Our heroine discovers her inner strength. Our author’s character and story development continues, we learn more and more about the “family”. This book ends with the battle of the ages, we see that even our heroes can suffer injury. Wow! What a book!
I am still on my book high from The Light-Bearer series. I've enjoyed Emily Guido's take on her paranormal portrayal of good versus evil. Moreover, I enjoy the fact that she weaves quite a bit of history into this fascinating novel.
Accendo is the third book in the Light-Bearer series written by Emily Guido, and the final part of the first trilogy. I think the best way to call it is the "Elder Council Trilogy" as from the first book, Charmeine, it is obvious that the Elder Council have a hatred of Light-Bearers, and Accendo explains why this is.
This is a religious book, but please do not let that discourage you. I have read several books with religion being one of the main factors and they have turned out to be very good books.
There is just the right amount of action and paced well, with the lead up to it has you on the edge of your seat, and it does not disappoint. We learn more about the main characters through the author's unique style of writing, and she does not go into too much detail with the supporting characters, just enough to learn who they are. Emily's descriptions give you a mental image of the surroundings, and I am very impressed that she has not shied away from same sex relationships.
This is, in my opinion, the best book of the series so far. Well done Emily, I look forward to the release of your next book.
Notes to Reviewers and Readers: First, the Blood-Hunter race or Elders have been on Earth for thousands of years. Because of this, they do not use contractions like I'm, don't or can't. They communicate in a more refined way because of their age.
Second, there are several OLD editions out in circulation of my books. Please leave a review on the current edition. Please feel free to contact me, Emily, at guido.emily@gmail.com to check the edition you have is the recent edition.
Spoiler alert - This is Book III of The Light-Bearer Series by Emily Guido
She remembered.........
Tabbruis had been taken from her, but she was being given an opportunity to save him from Hell.
She heard, "Accendo Charmeine..... You will set in motion your destiny when you cross the gates of Heaven" . "Accendo Charmeine."
Charmeine and Tabbruis assembled everyone in the Grand Hall. It was decided, they would go to the Acropolis in Athens, Greece to put an end to the Elder Council. Charmeine and Tabbruis would lead them into battle.
Charmeine had been warned about the dangers and she told them everything. Tabbruis argued with her, when she told him her plan.
Her heart broke. She knew he had no trust or respect for her plan of attack. He had lied to her, betrayed her trust. Tabbruis had failed her. She was his gift from God, how could he not believe? She felt she would have to leave her family and friends in order to save them.
As Tabbuis watched her ring drop, his heartbeat slowed. He was terrified, as he looked around, stunned that she had left.
He followed her, but Charmeine knew it was wrong. Wrong to let him convince her to follow him into battle. Even in her sorrow, she fought, and her vision was fulfilled. Not everyone returned to Romania alive and the Elder Council still lived.
It took losing her to make Tabbruis see, that she was the strong one - her- not him. He realized how wrong he had been, not to have faith in her. How wrong, not to believe in God and God's plan.
Now, what would become of them?
4 STARS - Would Highly Recommend To Others
The story strikes at your soul. Telling of love, faith, loyalty, trust, betrayal and the ultimate sacrifice one makes to save those you love. Emily's writing is simple and direct. It speaks to my heart. I laugh as I'm writing that. I'm turning into an old softie. That is SO not who I am. LOL
This is a novel about religion, but not like any religious novel you have read before. Emily Guido's approach to God, Hell, Heaven, Angels, Vampires, Judgment day.....is so unique it sets her books apart from the rest. Everyone starts out as an Angel, it is the choices you make that change you from innocent and good, to evil and everything in between.
Do you believe we are born good or evil? Do you think it is our environment that makes us choose one over the other? Is it our love for family and friends that helps us make the right choices in life? Or do we occasionally become lost through no fault of our own?
The books get my mind working. Isn't that what a book is supposed to do? Leave your mind running long after you have closed the cover? Each book is better than the last.
I have fallen in love with the characters and their plight. In their deepest sorrow, my heart mourns for them. In their happiness, my heart soars. At the end of each book, I am saddened by the need to wait for the next one. I want to know right now what is going to happen. This will be a series I will reread when I have all the books in hand. ^_^
I received this book from Emily Guido. She has not asked for a review, but I happily give it.
This review is hard, as this is the third book in this series and I have many emotional ups and downs, especially in this book. I've come to know and love the characters because the author has done a outstanding job with describing them and their personalities. I've wondered what was going on even when I wasn't reading. If you were reading my reviews or read the series, you know the egotistic stupidness of the men. They went to battle with the Elder Counsel and got defeated just as Charmeine predicated they would. They had to retreat with one family member dead and Charmeine barley holding onto life. Tabbruis was beside his self for not believing in his wife and queen. Will Charmeine stay in Heaven or return to earth to stand beside her husband and family to defeat the Elder counsel? The Elder Counsel still didn't have what they wanted, Charmeine. Dimitri, Tabbruis and the rest of the family knew they'd come after them. It took a couple of months for Charmeine to come out of it. In that time Tabbruis learned a lot about their relationship and how it came about. Will the gentlemen listen to Charmeine for the next battle? Can Charmeine ever forgive Tabbruis as a husband and protector? Will they defeat the counsel and have their entire family returned to them? Will they have faith in their queen of Light Bearers and Blood Hunters? It's all in this book and so much more. The books flow from one to the other effortlessly. A surprise ending had me crying out for another book in this series. My time has come to a end with Charmeine, Tabbruis, Shane, Thomas, Dimitri, Neal and Sandra. I'm Sad!! Read this series, you'll know what I mean. "Mactus" my LightBearers & BloodHunters!
Spoiler Alert! This is Book III in The Light Bearer Series
You are probably safe to read this, as I didn’t giveaway anything about the events in this book.
My Review
It’s always difficult to review the next book in a series, and even harder by the third one.
Charmeine must choose wisely when she comes face to face with the Elder Council. The wrong choice could destroy her family and all those she loves.
My heart almost broke when the falling out between Charmeine and Tabbruis occurred. I could only read on, my heart aching, as their love and trust fell apart. I had to have faith they would be able to rekindle what they had lost.
“I love your father, you , and everyone else in the family…when everyone did not trust my instinct, and he didn’t back me up…Well, something inside me started to die.”
The Light Bearer Series is about love, faith ,trust and hope. The characters strive for a peaceful, happy existence while battling evil minions and overcoming the uncertainties, worrys, and needs of everyday life.
The further I read into this series, the more I hope. I hope for their survival, for their faith, for their triumph.
As ever, Emily’s love for her characters is breathed into every word, every action and tragedy that occurs. You forget these are fictional, supernatural beings, and become so emotionally attached, you can only….only wish.
I was given a copy as a gift from the author. No review was requested, but it was honestly and gladly given.
