Emilie Grey found her boyfriend Conner Hanglinton cheating on her after two years of dating. She's crushed but of course with the help of her crazy best friend she is going to move on. To bad, she didn't know just exactly how her best friend was going to help her until it was to late. Now she has the school's bad-ass not leaving her alone and even crazier than that are his bad boy kisses...
I didn't think I'd like this book too much because of all the hate on it, but I thought 'whatever, let's give it a shot' and really didn't think it was that bad. Almost every comment about it was negative and I don't think people are being fair to the main character, Emilie. I'm just going to give my opinions to the hate, because half of it was completely unfair to Emilie.
There was an extensive amount of hate for her blaming Jared for the abuse of her ex-boyfriend Connor. Let me just clear this up - when you are being abused, you need someone to blame. She wasn't thinking straight and she needed to blame someone else or she'd go crazy. We've all done it - blamed someone for something that wasn't their fault, because we couldn't come to terms with reality. It's not fair to hate on her so much for that. And in the end, she realized it was nobody else's fault, but Connor's.
There was also a lot of hate on her because she didn't want to get in a relationship with Jared because he was a player that broke hearts. Why are we hating on her for that? She was trying to protect herself from heartbreak and anyone with a brain would do so. When you have a reputation like his, you can't just trust him and want to get in a relationship with him the first chance you get. I think her hesitation was completely reasonable and shouldn't receive hate.
I myself didn't enjoy the book all that much, but it isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I finished it in 3 days and I don't think I'll ever reread it, but it honestly wasn't that bad.
The only part that REALLY got me upset was when Jared forced Emilie to go the mental facility and see Connor. She CLEARLY wasn't ready and he had no right to force it upon her. It was entirely up to her when she wanted to see him and if she didn't want to, he shouldn't have forced her like he did even when she was protesting.
Another thing that bothered me was the amount of comments saying they felt bad for CONNOR! Are you kidding me?! He cheated on her after two years of dating then proceeded to abuse her when she didn't want to continue going out with him. I get that his dad abused him too, but you can't just defend an abuser because they were going through something. I'm sorry if I'm being insensitive, but you just can't. Emilie didn't press charges because she felt bad and forgave him almost immediately, and that just proves how kind-hearted she really is, but he ABUSED her. I can't even come to terms with how people have the nerve to defend him after everything he did.

this motherfrocking heroine.. UGH. 4 stars?! & there are pretty much only positive comments about this book?!!!! DID WE READ THE SAME BOOK??? HOW TF SWAYYYY HOW
If this was a book from an established publishing house with a professional editor, I would have been offended. But it is a free book, written and edited by someone who has a day job. With that in mind, it is a well-constructed story with a fleshed out plot. I would be interested to see what this writer can do with a team behind her.
It was a good read. Even though I didn't fully liked the characters, the story was good, fun, frustrating, sad, cute... The theme of abuse and stalking always makes me sick and angry. That's why I found it hard to read those pieces of the story and seeing the girl take all the shit and not tell anyone about being abused made me angry and frustrated. Emilie pissed me off most of the time and was annoying. Jared was hot and kind of fun, but also a little arrogant and frustrating. Conner - I'm sorry for him being abused by his father but still... he was sick and needed serious therapy. He was really creepy. My favorite character was Austin, even though I think he was stupid for protecting someone so sick and and cruel who hurt him both psychically and physically. Hailey was a good friend, sort of. I think she was a little too nosy. But she cared about Emilie. Anna was a cruel, hateful, stupid, jealous bitch. And I can't even imagine how in the hell Jared got to have sex with her. Repeatedly. For months. And he even believes her lies instead of confronting Emilie to know the truth. Stupid. When Emilie and Jared finally, finally, had sex....well, wow.... Hot! I have to say, I'd have liked to read more about these two love birds. They're so fun and cute!
Okkk so this was realllyyyy cute,I haven't read something like this in a while so I'm glad that I've chose it because I needed sth like this; it was short and their wasn't too much drama. So it's basically about this girl who's in highschool and she just found found out that her boyfriend is cheating on her and then she meets the amazing bad boy and the story starts from here. Of course I loved Jared and Emilie but I think Jared's brothers were the stars of this book, like Austin was soo sweet and Timmy is just funny with his inappropriate comments and rude remarks and I just loved them. So if you want to read something short and nice you should definitely start reading this.
It was okay. I mean, I finished it. I just wasn't impressed. I think a lot of the problem was due to the fact that it's essentially a rough draft. There was a lot more going on than I initially expected, and I thought some of it was ehhhh. The "yelled" "screamed" sort of things drove me nuts. Do you people not realize that yelling is going to draw attention? I dunno. I picked it up after a couple of months and was able to figure out things again pretty quickly, so there's that. Thank god we didn't have six j names to choose from. I never would have remembered Jared otherwise.
Has the cliched bad-boy-good-girl storyline, but with a few twists.
This book made me laugh out loud, and also made me cry. It gave me feelings, which a lot of books fail to do. I felt like I was one of the characters, and for a while there I kinda wished I was.
Oh, I just love love ya' know! :) This was such a cute read, I love Jared and his filthy mouth and Emille is a sweetheart with a little bit of sass. What more could a reader want? :P LOVED IT
Really liked this book it was well written and really cute I would probably read this book again and would recommend to friends. The chemistry between the two characters was really good
