I will have my daughter put a comment on this soon, but as a parent this book did exactly what I wanted it to. It gave my daughter, who hated reading at this time, a love for reading! She reads like crazy now and it is because of this book series. She fell in love with it, it wasn't too long, had a few pictures, and she got to get the horses to go with it after reading the book. They are beautiful too! She loves this series even though she has moved on to longer chapter books, she still loves reading any new ones in this series! From what I heard it promotes team work, and individuality, and fun, hard work, and friendship. Couldn't ask for more from a book. This may not be the book for your child to turn their reading love around, but it was for mine. She is a huge animal lover, as well as a girly girl. So tiny horses with wings tha are born from a child blowing on a dandelion wish, was just what my 7 year old needed!

Copyright Year: 2008
Theme(s): Horses, Friendship, Magic

This book, while cheesy, will be so much fun for students to read in the classroom. It's fun, engaging, and has an air of whimsy that I haven't experienced in a long time. There are great themes around friendship and exploration of magic as well. This would be a great choice for independent reading time.

I have a ton of Breyer horses growing up. I love that this story of the Wind Dancers. Kona with her flowers. Brisa with her beautiful gems. Sumatra with her long ribbons. And finally, Sirocco with his crazy butterfly's.

I read this book when I was really young and I learned lots of words with this book!!!
My family and I were laughing about how often I tried to read it and how I read the same chapter over and over again trying to
comprehend it! It was truly a valuable piece in my childhood! I don't think I ever finished but I still remember the red barn and the coral colored pony named Kona...

This is a book about magical horses that have wings. It tells about how they were born. A girl lived on a farm and had wishing flowers, which were dandelions. She wishes on it and that's how they were born.

Wasn't the best fairy book I've ever read but I still like how the book goes through the horses first day on earth. This book is definitely for little little kids not a fifth grader. I still sort of liked it though.
