A gripping psychological thriller on the inherent greed and evil of man, dooming the planet.

Two hundred years of tender love between man and alien, political downfalls, wanton violence of unspeakable order tempered with laughter, family loyalty and hope is the thrilling vehicle by which Ms Accinni conveys her cautionary tale of the merciless disrespect man gives his planet and the vulnerable creatures entrusted to him.

"Baby" introduces Netty, a naive teenage farm girl given in marriage to an older brutal opportunist disguised as a successful citizen during the years of Prohibition in Sussex County, New Jersey. After years of enslavement, Netty flees into the night from her rapist and bootlegger husband, traveling back to the farm worked by her parents, where she rescues an unfamiliar damaged creature she finds in a cave in the woods of her childhood, falling in love with the enigmatic alien she names Baby. Together they find happiness and fulfillment despite the changes to Netty's body wrought by the proximity of the unusual creature.

Damaged by entry into our atmosphere while pregnant, the confused creature forgets the purpose of his mission, appearing unconcerned with the disappearance of his offspring and savoring the unexpected joy of the love he shares with young Netty.

When a handsome Italian stranger comes into Netty's life, complications ensue as she falls in love while trying to hide the bizarre and wondrous changes to her farm and her body. Netty, Baby and Wil strive to conquer obstacles thrown in their path by life, succeeding wildly until the heart-rending and astonishingly brutal climax to their story.

This charming, yet brutal story is the prologue to a series that will chill and surprise you as it foretells the selfishly destructive path man has followed since his species evolved. It pulls no punches while allowing Netty and Baby's influence to transcend mortal life as the world dances toward depraved indifference, introducing other characters along the ride that readers will laugh, shed tears with and learn to despise.

What lengths will Baby and his offspring go to complete their mission? Will it spell Armageddon for the beleaguered planet with its vulnerable and exploited creatures or will man tip the scales himself, leaving those that love the creatures to salvage the pitiful ruins?

J.K Accinni’s novella BABY begins conventionally enough. The year is 1929 in rural New Jersey, and Netty, the young heroine, has fled her abusive and conniving older husband. He has raped her both physically and legally, taking land for himself that rightfully belonged to her. She stumbles her way to an old farm once managed by her parents.

At this point the story takes a strikingly original turn. In a nearby cave, Netty discovers an injured extraterrestrial whose own healing powers are restored as the creature taps into Netty’s life force. They communicate telepathically, and “Baby,” as she names the being, takes up residence in the farm house. While Baby’s small stature makes the alien seem like a pet, nothing could be further from the truth. Baby is able to heal Netty’s wounds, revive dormant seeds, and grow prodigiously productive crops and trees.

A young man beset by robbers is then thrown into their path, and Netty and Baby heal the handsome new arrival, Wil. Thus is a rare ménage à trois formed of male, female, and extraterrestrial. Baby isn’t having sex with the humans, but the creature is having an effect on their bodies, which I will not reveal. Discovering what these changes are is one of the joys of reading this tale. I cannot emphasize enough how much I was drawn into the narrative, putting aside another novel that I was enjoying because BABY had captivated me. Reading about Netty and Wil falling in love and combining forces with Baby to restore the farm deserved all my attention and gave me tremendous pleasure.

As one might guess, the abusive husband and his equally evil minions return to the picture, and the final chapters deal with rape and murder followed by revenge. This part of the narrative feels underdeveloped. While it is clear that Baby, Netty, and Wil have transmogrified, they disappear from the page, only making shadowy emergences, and the author doesn’t reveal their thought processes—only the outcomes of these processes. For example, some innocents die as part of the revenge, and I wondered why, given that Baby was such a benign creature. Also, I missed the three main characters, and I wanted to share their satisfaction as the immoral characters met their demises.

I have one final criticism, because I promised to give an honest review in exchange for reading the book. In the later chapters some of the language chosen by the author doesn’t fit the 1929 era. For example, a character is compared to a “dork,” a word not in use at the time. The sheriff’s car is called a “cruiser,” and the sheriff sends alien slime off to the “lab.” The FBI didn’t establish its famous lab until 1932, and rural New Jersey wouldn’t have had a crime lab as we think of it today.

These are minor reservations to the author’s overall success in BABY. It is compulsively readable, whether one is a fan of science fiction or not. The fantasy is melded seamlessly with realism to create a poignant and memorable tale.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. At the beginning you couldn't help but feel the turmoil that the main character Netty felt living with her abusive husband. It was a violent Marraige and he had only married her for land and money that she had inherited but didn't know about. She finally gets the courage to escape his clutches so she runs and runs to the only place she knows. She ended up at the delapitated family home. One day Netty comes across a injured creature and she nurses it back to health. After that they become bonded. This is one book that is a page turner right from the cover. I typically do not read Sci-Fi books but the talk on these books I couldn't resist the peer pressure. The characters were really well developed and the author has a great ability to create vivid imagery. I definitely look forward to more from this author.

I love this book. This book pulled at your heart strings and made you root for Nettie, Baby, and Wil. After being married to Robert and treated like she was nothing, Nettie discovers some of Robert’s secrets and takes off. Going back to where her family once lived, Nettie discovers an alien that she names Baby and discovers the healing powers of it. They become very attached to each other and Nettie wants to protect Baby. But when a stranger comes around and enters Nettie’s life, will she be able to keep Baby a secret or will that endanger their lives? This is a touching story of true love and friendship and the beginning of a wonderful series

How tragically ironic. Nettie Smith, a young farmer’s daughter with an abiding respect for all life, gets married to a brute of a man who shows his true colors only after the wedding. He imprisons her in the mansion, does not allow her to communicate with anyone, and physically abuses her. Finally, after several years, Nettie finally escapes back to her farm, only to find that all of her loved ones are dead and gone.
Afraid of being found out by her husband, Nettie hides inside her cabin in the middle of nowhere. She only ventures out when necessary. But one day, she is compelled beyond what her reason tells her is safe to wander into the woods, where she literally uncovers a strange being.
It is injured, and Nettie focuses only on that fact as she takes him back to her home. Their relationship grows closer, even though communication can sometimes be a problem. Everything else around them grows too—crops, orchards, fields. Soon Nettie and her hidden companion are able to make a life on their own, and Nettie forgets her brutal husband and his gang of Prohibition bootlegging thugs.
Enter Wil Capaccino, a young man who Nettie finds beaten up and left to die on her land. Once again, she brings home the injured and nurses him back to health. Once he gets over the shock of meeting Baby, the strange life form that lives with Nettie, life settles back to normal. Wil stays on, and their little family grows in love and prosperity, even while both Nettie and Wil start to change physically.
All is well until Robert, Nettie’s husband, learns of her whereabouts. He is a powerful gangster who rules the courts and the law officials, and soon has the prosperous farm back in his own crooked hands. He thinks he has done away with Nettie, Baby, and Wil – but he finds out that is not the case. And Nettie and her family are far from gone…
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Ms. Accinni did a great job of making her characters real. Nettie is a very likeable, very strong character. I like that she is independent and willing to take her problems into her own hands. Certainly, Wil is a great help, but he works from a base that Nettie herself established.
Wil is someone I would really respect. He loves without question, accepts Nettie for who she is, even when her physicality changes. Every time he meets up with a life-changing situation, he merely weighs it against his love for Nettie, and decides for her. This attitude turns out to save his life, although it doesn’t seem that way when someone “kills” him – those who read the book will understand why I put quotes around that word.
And Baby—Baby is a miracle sent down from somewhere. There is mention of Baby’s “offspring”, which is tantalizing because it isn’t found. Baby himself is anything but a baby, which is the irony in his name. He is older and wiser than anyone on his new planet, and has gifts that he is only too willing to share with his new acquaintances.
What a wonderful first book in the series! I hope to pick up the next one soon, because I just have to know how Nettie “managed to save her coup de grace” for Robert.
That’s the last line of the book. The next book is entitled “Echo” and begins in 2033. And Nettie is still in the world. Hmmm…

Baby [Species Intervention 6609] book one by K Acci
I adored this book. It is every pet lovers dream and it tugged on my heartstrings.
Netty is extremely naïve in the beginning of the book. I wondered at which stage this naivety would actually start to annoy me, it never did. She is naïve but she is not stupid nor is she ignorant, she is simply untouched. Her state of bliss does not carry on though, her new husband is a treacherous man with no good intent, rapes her, disfigures her and cast her aside. Soon you find that this narcarcistic behavior has a root, money. Natty grows as a character in the beginning of the book, she evolves but it is not until she meets up with Baby where her true character starts to shine!
Baby, I loved Baby but I will leave him unexplored so as to surprise the reader.
Will, as a character is nicely grounded in a strong familial and communal base. This lends his character depth that is both necessary and helpful as to see him shine once he meets up with the loves of his life. Loves is not a mistake, I mean for it to be plural. Netty, Baby and he start the perfect family where working is at the order of the day and fortune smiles on them as long as they are willing to put in 110% into their endeavours. Not all these favors are natural but all of them would have been for naught had Netty and Wil not decide to make the most of what they have and to work for what they want.
The story line is truly unique and with an alien creature the like of Baby in the mix it might have been a parody at times. Instead it ended up being a fresh, new take on more than one subject.
That brings me to my next line of praise. The author addresses so many issues of moral decay, social injustice, cruelty towards animals etc. that I wonder at her ability to weave it into the story instead of allowing these sub plots to become preachy and take over the main story line.
The formatting and editing of the story was fairly well done and did nothing to distract from the story itself.
All in all a highly recommended read to all who loves to read, if this is not your usual genre, trust me, this is not a book I would or could place in any given genre so chances are that you will end up loving it as much as I do.

Baby 6609 by JK Accinni

I totally loved the story and the characters. LOVE BABY!!! I did not foresee any of the events that took place halfway through the book to the end. What The Heck!! This story is very original and unique. It is a mix of the early 1940's with sci-fi twist. There is also tragedy, happiness, and other things that make this book GREAT! I for the life of me could not put it done and kept thinking about the scenes and the ending. I'm dying to read ECHO the next book in this series!! I'm wondering how it will tie into with this one. I think this author will only get better and better. My heart broke toward the end and ached for the characters all I keep thinking is WTH!! lol GREAT READ!!! MUST TRY!!

The story is about Netty who is a poor girl on a farm with her momma and papa. A nice man Mr Woods comes and brings gifts to her and her mother for the farm. One day a suitor finds interest in Netty, she finds herself thrust into a nightmare after that. She makes her escape many years later and returns to her family home. She works hard and gets the farm back up when she stumbles upon an odd but beautiful creature. Fearful of what will happen to the pretty thing, she brings it home and names him baby. Baby is a creature from Oolahan that somehow survived from giving birth and uses energy from Netty to bring healing to itself. They become attached to one another, but can their good luck stay? Can she truly be happy with her man-killing husband a couple towns over? Will he come for her?
I give this book 5 stars because I loved it!!

Originally I planned on giving this a 4 star as the explanation of baby and the womb hurt my head. But Once I continued to read on I easily overlooked that as I watched the life of Netty and her brutal rapes and how she ran away from her abusive husband to start over with her rightful inheritance. But nothing is plain sailing in life and this book shows that. Her husband Robert wanted her inheritance.
Along the way Netty discovered a creature from Oolahan who was called Baby. The love for each other grew and when Netty saw a drifter named Will she never expected to fall in love.
Unfortunately this was short lived as they were all brutally murdered, but in spirit they lived on seeking revenge on her husband Robert and all the men on his pay roll.
This book is definitely a must read for everyone and I cannot wait to read the second

Baby (Aliens Species Intervention #6609 Book One) by J.K. Accinni is an exceptional book!

I have to admit that i have read books 1-3 but forgot to post a review for Baby! I love this talented author J.K. Accinni. Her books are a raw look at our world and the cruelty caused to our beautiful creatures great and small.

That said, I love our character Netty and for her brave spirit after being brutalized by her husband. When she finds Baby things begin to change for her. What is Baby's purpose in our world is yet to be revealed and with high praise for the talent and creativeness of this author, I encourage you to read all the books in this awesome series.

Big 5 Baby stars for a thrilling and engrossing read!

I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

Wow, I love science fiction, but this book is much more! It's a love story.

Netty is a wonderful character. Unfortunately, she is forced to endure abuse from her rapist husband. Although badly treated, her spirit is not broken. When an opportunity to escape arises, she takes it. I loved her warm and generous heart. When she finds a hurt creature, she takes it in and looks after it. She names it Baby.

Baby is an alien, who has a mission. One that gets blurred once he meets Netty. I grew attached to Baby. He has a unique way of looking at things, almost childlike. However, his mission is not altruistic.

Wil is also a fantastic character. He is loving and kind, and just what Netty needs. Together, the three of them make themselves a unique family.

I knew going in that this book would be dark, but I felt a bit like a rabbit caught in headlights! I was totally fascinated with this story! The violence is very disturbing, but I found myself completely hooked. I found the characters very life like, and I became very sympathetic to them. I also took an extreme dislike to Netty's husband. He deserved worse punishment for his crimes! The book is very fast paced and before I knew it, I had reached the end. The ending was a complete shock, and had me in tears. I am now looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Echo.

J.K. Accinni has written an amazing science fiction story that tugs on every emotion: anger, disgust, hate, love, happiness, sadness and terror. Due to the extreme violence (abuse and rape), I do not recommend this book to young readers, or those who are squeamish or of a nervous disposition. I do, however, recommend this book if you love a well written science fiction/love story that will stay with you long after you have finished the book. - Lynn Worton

Baby by J.K Accinni is a wonderfully written book. The book centers around three main characters. The first an adorable little character Baby who isn’t from around here, but don’t go by its name. Baby is far more mature and intelligent than those on this planet. Then there is Netty – troubled with the trauma from her life that she left behind, she comes back home to start life afresh. She then finds Baby and things start looking up. She builds herself a new life and finds comfort with her new pet Baby. Then of course there is Wil. He is the quintessential boy-next-door type and can fix almost anything. Together they start a life that is prosperous, fulfilling and just good. But things take a turn for the worse when Netty’s husband Royce comes back into the picture. A journey that will leave you wanting more, Baby is a unique book.
At first it took me a while to get used to the writing style but when I got into the story it was hard to put the book down. The story just draws you in and leaves you wanting more. This is one story that is hard not to like. I liked the fact that the book was fast paced. There is never a dull moment in the book. Without a doubt Baby is my favorite character. He is so adorable! I would love to have a pet like him! :3
Unique, fast-paced, exciting and just downright amazing; Baby is an all-round book experience!

As much as I enjoyed Netty, Baby, and Wil’s story, it was a little hard for me to connect with these characters as the author used two different writing styles which I found slightly confusing and annoying at times. With Netty, Baby, and Wil the writing was too stiff and formal, and with the antagonists the writing was a lot more informal and too modern for the time period represented in the story. Although it didn’t take away much from the story, I felt the author should’ve stuck with either of the two voices for ALL the characters, instead of switching from one extreme to the other.

“Baby” is the first book in what looks to be a very exciting and promising series. Although this is a great read with a deeply touching story, readers sensitive to profanity, violence and cruelty, should give this book a wide berth. For the rest, indulge yourself in this novel with its cliff-hanger ending which will leave you eager to jump into the second book in this series to find out what happens next to this mysterious species. I’m really happy I got this book as a free download for kindle. It’s a truly terrific story which will touch the hearts of most readers.

I had the joy of reading J.K. Accinni's book Baby. The book itself pulled me in and it only took me 3 days to read because I kept forever getting lost in the story. I love the portrayal of Netty and how she goes from a caterpillar to a butterfly with the help of the amazing Baby. I could imagine baby trotting along behind Netty everywhere she went and I was just so very enthralled with his character. He was truly amazing. How he had unending and relentless love for Netty and then for Wil. I like how his demeanor changed when he was with the two different characters and how they formed a family where again beautiful things come from a damaged past. I especially like how Baby was the "protector" of the kittens that touched my heart and really showed the heart of Baby himself. Ms. Accinni is a very talented wordsmith and you can tell her heart was in this book fully heart and soul. I would read this again and again and if I could give it stars they would be infinite because I loved this story so very much! I can't wait to move on to Echo which is sitting right beside me as I type.

Netty flees from her abusive husband, Robert, hiding out at the New Jersey farm where she was raised where she hopes to rebuild her life. There, she unexpectedly encounters a dying alien, Oolahan, and nurses him back to health. She bonds with this creature she calls Baby and he uses his healing ability to revive the blighted farm. Netty finds a handsome man named Wil in the forest left for dead and they eventually fall in love. Life seems practically perfect until Robert learns of Netty's whereabouts and comes after her.

Compellingly written, fast-paced, and unusual, this book takes you on a rollercoaster of emotional experiences. Netty's innate compassion and kindness warmed my heart, while I felt only anger and hatred toward Robert and his violent and greedy cohorts. A war between good and evil you won’t want to miss.

Just finished Baby and I loved it!! I had an immediate connection to Netty and Baby and the author’s writing style made the pages fly by. Great descriptive imagery. I loved the setting. The author did a fantastic job of convincingly placing me into 1920’s rural New Jersey which is one of the last places I would think an "alien invasion" would take place. The specific problems of that decade served as a fascinating backdrop for this cautionary tale. I was devastated by parts of the story (don’t want to give too much away!) but was pleased by the closure at the end. I was also excited to find the first three chapters of the next book Echo at the end of the book. All I can say is WOW! I can’t wait to see how this alien story is going to play out for planet earth across space and time. Recommend to anyone looking for a fast paced adventure story.

Beautifully written tale of an alien rescued by a women abused by her older, evil husband. He is also stealing her inheritance. These events will lead her to discover her real father only with many other revelations.

The relationship between the alien, Baby and his savior, Netty blossoms along with her farm which they manage to save. Hard work, love, unselfishness and strange changes to Netty's body flourish as they make a success of the farm. Then, along comes a love for Netty, making her life complete.

Funny how evil lays ruin to the best of intentions. Prepare yourself for tears as the author's tale rips out your heart then shows a side of evil we might never understand and a side you would rather not see.

I was given a copy of this in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is a heartwarming story of an alien who comes to Earth on a mission, but becomes side-tracked when he meets an abused woman and decides to heal her and turn her into his "Sister".

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and couldn't put it down. I read it just under a day because it was so engrossing!! The characters are of Netty, "Brother" and Wil are so lovable. Of course, there has to be some bad guys to be punished and J.K. does an excellent job of making sure that it gets carried out Alien style! I can't wait to read the next book in the series, Echo(Species Intervention #6609)!!

The story takes place in 1942. Netty is a young woman who was married off to a man named Robert. The night of her wedding, he brutalizes and rapes her. Several years later, Netty has gained weight, lost her hair and is continued to be raped by her husband. She finds out some information about her husbands intentions and flees. It takes her days to reach her old farmhouse, now dilapidated from abandonment since her mother was murdered.

She meets a new creature in her travels and it looks a little worse for wear. She takes it home to nurse it back to health. She dubs him with the name Baby. Baby kind of reminds me of E.T. being that he's short. He has golden fur, wings and a tail with a bulbous end. This is the start of a positive relationship that Netty so desperately needed. She starts tending to the farm to be able to sell her fruits in town. That's when all the odd things start happening. I wont go into further details on that :-)

Netty finds a man in the woods surrounding her cabin. He looks feverish, on deaths bed. She takes him to the cabin so he can recover. The three of them eventually make a great team around the farm. Netty's good fortune doesn't last for long when an unexpected visitor shows up.

I really enjoyed this book. I'm not usually a fan of sci-fi, but the author kept me engaged. It was written more like a contemporary with sci-fi elements. It gives you a really good basis for what the characters are like. This wasn't one of those action in your face type of books but I'm assuming that's what the other books in the series are for. This was just a little taste of what's to come. I'm hoping for my action in the next book. I think everyone should give this book a try, it might surprise you.

Today, I finished Baby by JK Accinni! First, I'd like to say that this book kept me sane throughout my move! It was a fantastic escape from that obnoxious "real life" bit!

Netty is a teenager fleeing from an abusive marriage. She returns to her childhood home, which stands in ruins. She discovers Baby, an alien creature, in a cave, barely hanging on to life. Baby and Netty heal each other and form a fascinating bond. Soon, they meet Wil, a man looking to start his own life. Together, the trio rebuilds Netty's family farm and even build a new life together. Unfortunately, it's not long before Netty's abusive husband returns to destroy what happiness they built.

The first thing that I noticed, and the thing that really shines, about this book is the originality of the story. There are countless aliens on Earth stories out there. Some of them even portray those aliens as innocent friends, but none are quite like Baby! The physical and emotional changes these characters go through are absolutely extraordinary!

I also adored the combination of an overall simplistic lifestyle with complicated problems and complicated story. It definitely had me on the edge of my seat in places, but I was never completely overwhelmed. I also have a serious soft spot for stories that take place in simpler times, so bonus points from me there!

If you have ever been in an abusive relationship, there are parts of this book that are extremely difficult to read from an emotional standpoint. This author really knows how to tug at emotions, both good and bad. The good times are amazing, and the bad times are absolutely horrific.

If you haven't read this book yet, you need to pick this one up! You won't regret it! I can't wait to start the second!

I was given this book in return for an honest review. It's 1929 and Netty is a young woman from a poor, but loving family. She marries Robert, who turns out to be a sadistic and abusive husband. Her mother murdered, she has no where to go. After years with Robert, Netty makes a discovery that changes everything and she runs back home to her dilapitated childhood cabin, taking one of Robert's beloved gold coins with her. Dropping it one day, she finds a cave and insde is a creature unlike any she's ever seen. Lonely, she takes it home to care for it and find that her feet, once infected, are healed. She names it Baby and over time they heal each other. Baby has powers, he speaks telepathically, heals all of her seeds, orchards, etc. She becomes quite prosperous by selling her baked goods, fruits and vegies. One day she stumbles upon Wil, a young man trying to find his place in life, he had been mugged and is very ill. Netty nurses him back to health while hiding baby from him. Wil begins helping fix up the house and farm. When Maggie, Wil's beloved horse is injured, Baby finally shows himself to Wil while healing the horse. They all live together happily, but Netty is changing into something other than what she was before. A chance encounter with one of Robert's employees will change everything for Netty, Wil and Baby. There will be deaths and there will be vengeance the likes of which you have never seen. This is one of the most unusual books I have had the pleasure of reading. Although there are few parts that are a bit slow, stick with it, it is worth it. This book is unique and I enjoyed it. WaAr

I received this book to give an honest review. I do wish I could give this book more than 5 stars because it was one of those books that I just happened to fall in love with. The main character Netty, I felt for her on so many levels. With the abuse that she succumbed from her husband to her becoming independent and running her farm along with starting a business though still a bit weary of her husband finding her. She finds a creature who she falls in love with, names him Baby, and in a way he changes her life. She learns that she has to keep him a secret as he is not from this world. While taking care of herself and Baby, Netty finds a man in her woods that is almost dying. She nurses him back to health with Baby's help and in the process falls in love. But will he find out Netty's secret? And if he does, how will he react? You just have to read to find out.

Netty's husband Robert is one very mean man and when he finds out Netty is on her parent's farm he stops at nothing to get rid of her. I can honestly say I cringed on one of the deaths that Robert caused. I actually re-read the part to make sure I read it correctly.

There are deaths, and revenge but not in your normal way. This book is very unique and I highly suggest you pick it up and give it a read. Netty and Baby's story will pull you right in. I can not wait to read more as I can tell this will be a good series. The author has a wonderful imagination that came alive in this book.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was easy to get into the story and it held my interest all the way through.
Netty broken in body and spirit fled her abusive husband after she leaned the true reason he married her. She was a poor, average girl from a small farm and he came from a wealthy family. She returns to her now depilated farm house. In an nearby cave she finds a strange looking creature she takes home to heal and names him Baby. Little does she know he is an alien capable of many things but mostly good deeds. They heal and help each other. Her farm prospers, all while her body changes too. her appearance changes over time.
She helps an Italian young man,Wil who was passing by and got mugged on her land. They fall in love and stay together, but just as their happiness reached the peak, with her expecting a baby, things take the turn for worse.
Her husband is back with the vengeance. And we discover just how far his money reached and who is on his payroll, including the local deputy sheriff. The story takes un unexpected turn and at this point I doubted there'd be a happy ending. But though the bad guys did meet their gruesome ending over the years, the Baby, Netty and Wil return in some different form.
The ending is a set up for the starting of the next book in a series that will make you continue reading.

I don't read much Sci-Fi. This book called "Baby" was a very interesting read. The author of this book has a very unusual imagination. The character know as Baby reminds me of a little cute and loving Gremlin. The girl character, Netty, has had a hard life. She gets away not knowing what the future holds for her, has to be better then what she is running from. Everything doesn't go as planned. Her family farm is a mess. Her hopes for providing for herself doesn't look good. Netty wants to give up till she finds this little creature. Netty, named the little creature ,Baby. With Baby she finds comfort and peace. Little by little everything starts turning around for her. Her crops on the farm are growing and providing plenty for her. Then this guy wonders on to her farm. Shaking things up a bit, but not for long. He was of great help to her and Baby. Things were great for awhile till her past came back and made her life and everyone in it a living Hell. As I read this book I hope for the best, but everyone keep dying and become cursed. I keep thinking things would get better for Netty. Nope. The author must have liked death, but the story did keep me on alert as one by one came closer to death. I didn't like the use of GD in the story.
Thank you, J.K. Accinni for sharing your story with me.

This may come as strange, but I found this book to be very heart warming at so many levels. Yes there were very sad and violent moments but as side from that I felt a strong connection to Netty, with the loss of her family the abuse from her crazy controlling husband and then having to live alone with no human contact. Then she finds Baby the strange little woods creature, who make sure Karma plays in every role of life. If you are good to others it will come back to you 10 fold, BUT if you treat others crudely it will come back to haunt you. I laughed and cried so many times while reading this that even my emotions were confused. JK Accinni, did a fantastic job in creating Baby, I am still trying to figure out my Idea of baby I get his Alien Fairy combination mixed in with a cat/bat creature. If only I could word it as easily as I picture it in my mind. I loved this book and have already read book 2 Echo. Love it even more it just keeps getting better.

I Highly recommend this book to everyone who loves a little something different.

I am not necessarily a sci-fi girl, but decided to read this book to help the author. This book was given to me by J.K. Accinni is exchange for an honest review.

Baby: Species Intervention #6609 is probably not a book that I would have chosen to read on my own. I am a vampire/shifter/angel/paranormal/romance kind of girl and that is the type of book I would ordinarily choose. However, when the author was asking for reviewers, I responded. I decided that it would be a welcome(?) change-of-pace.

I was totally surprised to find out that I liked the book! It was slow going at first because I didn't expect to enjoy the story. Boy was I wrong! From the point where Sister (Netty) firrst finds Brother (Baby), I was hooked. This story is well-written and includes abuse, escape, survival, love, suspense, all the elements of a great story! I don't want to spoil it for the rest of you, so I'll just say this! If you are a sci-fi fan, and maybe if you're not, you will not regret reading Baby! I've already started the sequel in the series, Echo!

Bizarre? Weird? Tragic? Yes. Yes. Yes. I had high hopes for this one. It sounded right up my alley. But maybe it was TOO out there for me. Maybe I just didn't "get" it. Or, maybe this is one of those that needs to be read until conclusion before passing judgement. Whatever the case, this one just didn't work for me as well as I had hoped. The writing was pretty decent, but the entire time I waited for the other shoe to drop (which of course it did) and once that happened I was still like "WTF?" I didn't get any sense of satisfaction or justice. It didn't feel complete. And I know this is a series but the way this first book is written, it ends. It should have felt finished.

Eh, it's probably just me. It's a weird book that ends, well, weirdly.

**I read this for the MacHalo 2016 challenge: 7. A book with nonhuman characters**

I absolutely loved this book!! It was original and inventive and beautifully written. The character of Netty is a woman of her time. She survives horrible injustices and still holds true her own ideals and all in the late 20's and early 30's of rural New Jersey. J.K. Accinni draws a beautiful portrait of the locale and the people who live there. This is a dark tale, of hate and betrayal, but with hope and love, but it steps outside the box, delivering a page turner and an ending you might not expect. I literally read this book in like 5 hours as I couldn't put it down, needing to find out what happened to Netty, Will and Baby. Baby, a character to fall in love with, truly beautiful and charming. I look forward to reading the other 4 books in this series, and finding out where J. K. Accinni will take me.

The story told is a beautiful one, filled with love, faith and more. What more can someone ask for than a faithful pet so to speak and the ability to help others.

Netty finds all that and more when she escapes a horrible life and comes across Baby. Not knowing exactly what he is, she takes the chance and saves his life anyways, not realizing what is about to happen to her life.

she soon gets her wish of a happy life and more when things start to happen. Fruit grows, life becomes so much better and then love is introduced.

They all go through hardships but in the end it is them who survive and make the others pay for their crimes.

I would recommend this book to anyone. It really was a special book about a special bond.
