Netty’s influence transcends a full century as the United States evolves to a point of politically driven economic collapse. The year is 2033 as a young mother, abused by her shiftless husband, heroically decides to remove her two sickly children, Scotty and Abby, from the mean streets of their government subsidized tenement town of Short Hills, New Jersey to the hills and old farmland of Sussex County. There they unite with a Latino family that adopted Jose, a young boy from Costa Rica, traumatized at the age of seven by the brutal murder of his parents and the kidnapping of his infant sister.
The two families unite to pool finances, creating the love and bonds that will enable them to survive the psychotic attention of Armoni, a soul damaged beyond redemption, discovery of Baby’s miraculous offspring, Echo; and their subsequent body changes. Through the efforts of Echo who develops an unexplained passion for the curly haired dog, Barney, they flee the clutches of Armoni after the murder of Armoni’s sidekicks by Echo, to Sarasota, Florida, one of the last remaining enclaves of wealth in the U.S.
Scotty learns to utilize Echo as a co-conspirator in his intrigue to thwart the efforts of heinous people that prey on the lives of creatures in their environmentally rich new home, where the insidious miscreant, Armoni, tracks them; dragging along Ginger Mae, a New York City prostitute looking for opportunity with her mute child, Daisy; bringing brutality and violence to all.
Having fallen in love, the young Abby and Jose draw close, only to be separated by the transcendental Netty, who tries to use Abby as a conduit in her plan to rescue as much wildlife as they can before despicable political events bring on the specter of Armageddon.

I absolutely loved Baby, and really wanted to read Echo. I too couldn't get past the first CHAPTER. I understand of course that authors must set up a fictional world and the opinions of the characters doesn't reflect those of the author, BUT the intro to the dystopian world isn't from a character POV is a third person narrative claiming to describe 'facts' that are a mix of highly charged political vitriol and out right conspiracy crackpot science. Many dystopian stories are based on implausible scenarios but from a pure story telling standpoint, this diatribe did absolutely NOTHING to get me into a story. In fact, I made me abandon a series that I was invested in. If the author's intent was to describe the destruction of our planet ...well, I think that has been done pretty well by many others who didn't resort to that sort of ideological mumbo jumbo. Why not just tell the story from the character POVs and describe the world as is?

The sad part is that the writing is interesting and at times really sucks you in emotionally.I actually really wanted to read about Scotty and his family. Seriously, if the author had cut all of the narrator description of how they had come to live in the world they lived in and just started telling the story I would have been hooked.

Some examples in just the first few pages:

"The country decided to worship at the altar of socialized medicine, an understandably desperate shortage of doctors ensued"

"The epidemic started because of Muslim law"

"The SNW, made of of a variety of minority groups, highly paid union workers and ex-illegals..."

"They had taken responsibility for vaccines and immunizations away from parents who had long ago rejected the poisons in the makeup of vaccines"

Echo (Species Intervention # 6609 Book Two) by J K J Kelly Ed Accinni cant not give this book a 5 * rating
The characters are unique and has the reader invested from the start
The plot is unique
The social and socio-political commentary was spot on if emotionally draining.
The character Echo, like her birth brother Baby became a firm favourite from the start
...I love the fact that the story picks up where it left off even though a monster amount of time has elapsed.
Human depravity it seems is timeless.
Many questions and threads were not finished in this book.
Good thing I already owned the third to carry on reading,
It had me hooked.
Trust me when I say, what ever you are expecting.
You will find that and so much more in this book.

I was given a copy of this by the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

Book sequels, just like movie ones, are usually not as good as the first ones, but J. K. doesn't disappoint in this one. In fact, she surpasses the intensity of the Baby!

There is a lot more action & drama and edge of your seat adventure going on almost constantly! I couldn't put this one down either!!

I do have to give warning though. If you're sensitive to rape or torture scenarios, this has a lot of it in here.

Great job J.K.! I can't wait to read the next one in the series!

After reading the first book within this series I had to immediately grab Echo to see what happened. I'm glad I did because again I wasn't disappointed. The story is face paced and full of action.

In Echo new characters are introduced and the time takes place in 2033. Life on earth is very different from what we know now. Echo comes into the story healing Abby and Scotty. When she's introduced, I fell in love with her. She sounds soo cute and is so helpful with changing life for the siblings as they know it.

I gave Echo four stars because there are several parts within the book I wish I was warned about. Very graphic rapes which left me a little sick. I think those scenes will be with me for some time.

I'm loving this series and I'm off to read the third book; Armageddon Cometh.

I read the first book in this series and I liked it really much. So of course I read the second book in the series. Originally I thought it would pick up where we left in the first book. But much to my surprise the author takes us to the year 2033. And might I say it’s a gloomy look on our future. Sickness, poverty, diseases, violence. Hopefully it’s not where we are heading to; destroying this earth we are living on.

Our main heroine in this story is much like Netty from the first book, Abbey has to overcome some terrible ordeals in order to finally get to a point in her life were things are looking up for her. Together with her little brother Scotty and Jose, a young man with as much as a troubled youth as Abbey they find each other and Echo, one of Baby’s sisters, and struggle to come to terms with what’s happening to them now they have Echo in their lives. The changes they go through, the psychotic Armoni they have to fight off and much more.

Just as in the first book, I love that the main characters aren’t just people with a normal background. Because, let’s face it, who has nowadays. They have to fight for their love and their happiness and still things go wrong. Making them all the more realistic.

The world as we know it, seeing described in 2033 is really scary, also because this really is a possible outcome if we continue living our lives and consuming the way we do.

And that’s what I like so much about the books by J.K. Accinni. Although you have the paranormal / supernatural feeling of the story, it’s also realistic and identifiable. It’s not some totally unconventional story about some dystopian world. She’s even able to write the more gruesome parts of her tale with such accuracy you really feel the pain of the main characters. You are rooting for these main characters to get away from the psychotic Armoni.

Saying that, it’s only fair to give a slight warning that not everyone will like this book. There is mention and vivid description of torture and violence and it will not be everyone’s cup of tea. I myself don’t mind. Even these parts off the story are well written and necessary for the book.

I compliment the author how she can switch between romance, the supernatural, the future, the gruesome parts and not once thinking it was too much. She finds the perfect balance between all this and it leaves you hunger for more.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. If you love paranormal / supernatural stories with a bit of romance and don’t shy away from a bit of violence as well, be sure to pick up a copy of your own on Amazon and check out the website of the author!

Author JK Accinni continues the unique story in the Species Intervention series with “ECHO”! I have become completely engrossed with this series even though they are so unlike what normally draws me to say “yes, I’ve been waiting for this one”, but it HAS!!

An amazing storyline has been sculptured like a captivating piece of “art” within the covers of Echo that spans or lapse through time- as it has here between BABY into ECHO, and the wow factor is so unreal, yet very real at the same time…..

The cast of characters in the Species Intervention #6609 just keeps growing in all their quirks, traits, strengths and weaknesses. “Echo, book 2” is jaw-dropping-head shaking kind of spectacular. To fully understand what I’m trying to say here you MUST READ this series. You really do.
Just when one character/creature pulls on my heart, as did Baby and Netty in book 1 – a whole new set crawl right in there too! Yep, in this book (Echo) I have Echo herself along with Scotty… and don’t even get me started on Barney! *nope, not a good name* but one heck of an addition. ROFL, a “soul puppy.”

My message is: Protect your family at all costs. Wouldn’t you? And that is exactly what Echo wants too, but things happen, leading to more questions… ugh I hate it when that happens, and answers aren’t given.
For every wrong doing, there are consequences or a punishment to be given (another life lesson). Help, comfort or curses are justifiably given when needed (yes, just like in our lives)
The storyline is building so dynamically, that you best be prepared for one breath gasping ride, as you take the next leap of faith into the events that are surely going to hit us in “Armageddon Cometh”, book 3 in this enigmatic series… buckle-up because here we go into the unknown so to speak!!

J.K. Accinni you are off the wall a phenomenal writer, that is running real close to one of my all time favorite authors, who like him being able to spin a story plot so unlike any others!! I wait eagerly for each new novel of his, and now I find myself doing the same thing with your work of art/writings.
I applaud you sincerely on this. Thank you, thank you Ms Accinni so much for your sweet ECHO.

Though this book didn't pick up where the Baby left off, and only mentions Netty, it's and interesting read on its own. In this book we follow a different family. The book start of with a young boy Scotty who is on his way to play in an discarded cardboard box, we're seeing the world around him from his POV, and I doubt that a 5 or 6 year old boy would think about what is going in his world the way the book opens, (for instance the outbreak of polio that devastated the population could be the author's warning on today's issue of not vaccinating the children, just because many parents think the disease(s) are eradicated) so it's very much the author's take on of the futuristic society drawn from the today's world's events. The family soon moves away to the lesser populated area where Scotty discovers Echo (Baby's sibling or offspring not clear on that one and it's not that much important to the story)Echo soon "adopts" the family and forms a strange bond with their dog Barney. She's very much intrigued by human ways but will not stand idle when it comes to animal's suffering. Her mission is to eliminate human race from the existence, after she studied them for a period of time and concluded that they're a vile species. However, she helps out Scotty, Jose and Abby by building them a tree house of pure gold (diamonds apparently weren't in abundance in the mountains surrounding them). So, after melting the gold down to manageable pieces, the family moves out but not unnoticed by a local thug who follows them. The rape scene though graphic and establishes the nastiness of the character, I have to say was gruesome and makes me wonder if perhaps much could've been toned down. There're plenty of instances in the later text from which a reader can conclude Armoni is a sick bastard. So, yeah, the family moves on to only rich part of U.S. left and though I'm not quite sure how will a subplot with the president and his sick wife and adopted daughter fits in the later books, but in this one serves more of an introduction. There's a romance between Jose and Abby that's tender and touching, with their changing bodies and all. If you're in a mood for something different then by all means, give this book a chance.

I was given this book in return for an honest review. This book starts of years after the first one ends, in 2033. Scotty is small for his age and has some physical deformities, mother has Polio, sister has kidney disease and father is abusive. His mother takes them and runs from father. Everything is going well in new place, Scotty runs into the woods one day and us discovered by Echo, Baby's offspring, and this the adventure begins. Echo develops a strange attachment to their dog. They meet and bring together their money and love with a Latino family, including adopted soon Jose. Echo, of course, heals and changes them all. Abby and Jose begin to develop a relationship. Netty, from 1st book, is a major influence in this book on Abby, Netty is still a consciousness, and is ultimately concerned about Earths wildlife and nature. There is the Evil and Psychotic man named Armoni chasing them, along with his henchwoman Ginger, a prostitute with a mute child. With Armoni after them the bonds they have forged with each other, may be the only thing that can save them. This is such an action packed book with characters that you will fall in love with. They cannot catch a break though. I get tired just reading about the things that they have to go through. You definitely need to read these books in order, I think you might be confused by the references if you don't. A must read series for sure.

This is the next book in the series and a wonderful addition at that. Abby and Scotty have health issues. They live in a very poor part of town. The government no longer runs the U.S., the rich do and they make all the decisions and control everything. When their father becomes noticeably abusive toward their mother and them, they move away with their mom to another part of the town. Scotty finds Echo but believes she is just a fairy. Little does he know at that time what he’s in for. With funds tight, their mother allows another family to move into their home to help make ends meet. Jose had been adopted into that family and when a tragic accident occurs, he becomes part of Scotty and Abby’s own family. The secrets of Echo will come to light and others will be out to have a hand in the wealth that might come to them. The biggest question of them all is can they protect one and other?

No. Just no.

The first book was quite interesting, but for some reason the first chapter of this volume is regurgitated right wing ignorance about poisoned vaccines, the dangers of socialized medicine, and how it's all the Muslims fault.

It's like a dystopia as imagined by Donald Trump.

Dnf in the middle of the first chapter.

Echo is the offspring of Baby, from the previous episode. She waits and watches after the brutal attack and murder of her parent.
For a hundred years she watches, but she is alone.
That is until a seven year old wanders into her neck of the woods.
Then a short time later, an injured dog also enters her domain. He is followed by an older young man.
What happens to these two, once contact has been made is an interesting saga.
There is a section of torture within this episode, for those who do not want to encounter the worst of humanity.

After having read the first book in this series awhile ago, and due to some things that bugged me about the first book, I wasn’t really eager to start on the second book. I’d thought I’d wait awhile before reading Echo for fear that the same issues that bothered me in Baby, would pop up again in Echo. Alas, my fears were unnecessary and I ended up enjoying Echo far more than I did Baby.

I was so focused on the issues that plagued me in the first book, I failed to notice how exquisitely J.K. Accinni writes. Reading Echo, the first thing that stood out to me was the complexity of the plot with political intrigue intricately woven into a story about the world - more specifically America - in 2033, and the cruelty and inhumanity people show to nature and each other; destroying our planet and ourselves through greed and brutality. The author uses many metaphors by means of three-dimensional characters and a super-intelligent furry alien, to show how the human race is the engineer of its own destruction.

One scene early in the book really grabbed my attention as it struck a chord with me. “Whatever you need there is a government program to cover the cost. Cradle to grave, as they say. Yet the poor somehow always found the money for air conditioning, cell phones, I-pods, cable TV, shiny leased automobiles, and LED TVs.” To be very honest, this is something I’m always questioning in my daily life. How do the poorest of the poor manage to have more of life’s luxuries than so many others who struggle to afford daily necessities to just survive? Questions challenging the morals of the human race applicable to our lives today, and even more so in a world twenty years from now crippled by the Polio virus and a defective government, lends a sense of realism to this story which is sure to touch a raw nerve or two. Of course, I was also immensely thrilled that my home country got a mention later on in the book!

I think one of the scenes that will linger in my mind for quite some time is the scene in which a seventeen-year old girl is raped, tortured and murdered in the most horrendous and shocking of ways reminiscent of the movies The Hills Have Eyes and Wrong Turn. Kudos to the author for being so brutally honest and not shying away from the terrifying darkness a human mind is capable of. From incest to dog fighting and poaching, to the stark reality of corrupt figures of authority and the possibility of the East overthrowing the West, Echo is an intelligently-written story that will make you think, but at the same time shock you at the repulsiveness of some of its characters, while rooting for the unlikely heroes. The backdrop for this story is so realistic it made me feel as though this is a very likely future for the world as we know it. The good guys in this story don’t have it easy at all and the villains are such vile creatures, their punishment weren’t nearly as severe as the atrocious deeds they committed.

In my opinion Echo is a vast improvement on Baby, and I’m genuinely looking forward to reading Armageddon Cometh, the third book in this intriguing and exhilarating series.

I really enjoyed this book. I have to say I'm glad that I continued on from the first book (Baby) because Echo was a great read. I was a bit hesitant because of the brutality in Baby, but there was only one incident in this book. I found myself constantly thinking about this book whenever I put the book down to do something. My mind, no matter what I was doing, would drift back to the book and wonder what is going to happen next, or think to myself, what does this mean, or that mean, or will the plan be successful, etc. So of course with books that make me think like that, I can't go long with not reading on.

The characters of Jose, Abby, and Scotty all have sad background stories, but it is those backgrounds that causes them to have such a strong bond and form a family, a solid family that has each others back no matter what. The developments that result from their close proximity to Echo are amazing and develop far beyond the character of Netty in the first book. Echo is adorable and hard not to love and her relationship with the dog is too cute! The powers that she has are far more advanced than that of Baby, and in this book we get to see Echo use them to protect her loved ones.

The villains of the book were depicted so well that every time they were mentioned in the book, I scrunched up my nose in disgust. Especially when the character of Armoni was mentioned. Talk about disgusting and not just his evil deeds, but his description. Then when I found out his background story, I was even more disgusted, but felt pity for him at the same time. However, I still dislike him and his actions out weigh his abuse as a child. Some people come through better people and some people go on to commit evil as a result of abuse; Armoni has chosen the path of evil. Of course he is not alone in this, he has his partners Kelly and Thomas. These evil psychos are twisted!

One of the aspects of the book that I loved is that it all tied back to the first book. Some events that took place were directly tied back to Netty and her coin! Loved it! Makes me believe that Netty may come back into play in the other books. I have hope! I won't go in to detail into what all happens in the book because I want you to read it. LOL!

I loved the ending to this book, a bit sudden but it was much better than the first books ending. I'm eager to read the next book in the series, Armageddon Cometh.

My favorite quotes:

Echo to Scotty-
"I need you in my heart Brother Scotty."

Ginger on men-
"They never understood that a woman judges a man differently. Bright confident smile? Check. Any brains? Check. Does he have a good heart? Check. Does he have any money? Well, can't have everything. These characteristics made the sex good. Not the size of his c*ck. A woman only cares about the c*ck if it doesn't work."

I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

This is the second book in the Species Intervention #6609 series.

Scotty and Abby are brother and sister. They are both fantastic characters. Scotty is a lonely boy due to his illness. Abby, although sick herself, is more outgoing and popular. When their mom finally decides to leave her abusive husband for the open hills of Sussex County, all of their lives take a turn for the better.

Jose is also a wonderful character. Having survived a vicious attack that left his parents dead and his little baby sister kidnapped, Jose is suspicious of everyone and everything. It's not until he goes and lives with Scotty and Abby that he begins to trust and love again.

Echo is the offspring of Baby. She has been observing the humans, and getting ready to carry out the mission that Baby was meant to start a hundred years previously. Then she meets Scotty and thinks he's "The One".

I am completely enthralled with this series! I cannot say that I enjoyed it, but I will say that I absolutely loved it! I know this is a bit of a contradiction, but this story is as dark, if not darker, than the first one. There is violence and some really disturbing scenes that are definitely not for the faint of heart. The things that people (Armoni and Kelly) do for fun in this book is very disturbing indeed! However, I found myself completely absorbed in the story. I struggled to put my Kindle down! I nearly burnt supper whilst waiting for it to cook; it had me that engrossed! Again, I was like a rabbit caught in the headlights! The story twists and turns in such a way that I just HAD to know what was going on! The ending left me wanting to know more! I am now looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Armageddon Cometh.

J.K. Accinni is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. Her writing style is flawless and fast paced. She has created characters that are extremely lifelike; I find myself empathising with a lot of the characters, and completely disgusted with a few too. I must admit that this series brings out a lot of emotions in me! I don't recommend this for younger readers, but I highly recommend this book (and series) if you love science fiction or dystopian fiction. - Lynn Worton

After being completely enthralled by its prelude, Baby, I was instantly drawn into this 2nd novel, which starts 100 years later - delighted to discover Scotty and his family; a little boy who stirred my emotions. Weak, sickly, ridiculed by an abusive father, he is the first person in this story to stumble across the alien species known as the Oolahan, as he seeks solace in the woods from his miserable life; thereby discovering the same cave as Netty (Book 1), as well as her abandoned gold coin - and where he is ultimately touched by the healing energy of Echo, sibling to Baby.

Eventually, Scotty’s family bunk up with the Diaz clan and their adoptive son Jose (traumatised by demons of his own childhood) but as the two families are unwittingly brought together during turbulent economic times, the U.S. creeps towards the brink of collapse. The story ticks along at a delightful pace as characters start to bond and it has a nice community feel about it. There is tragedy to come, but not before we learn that Jose too, has encountered the alien being, Echo, along with his furry friend, Barney - and both boys share the secret of their physical changes as a result of the healing power of this extra-ordinary creature. Like her brother ‘Baby’, Echo has instant appeal - a creature bestowed with beauty beyond our imagination as well as her incredible gifts. It is not long however, before the lives of Jose, Scotty and his sister, Abby are blighted by sadness leaving them at the mercy of dangerous people. The psychotic Armoni is a truly despicable character and their plan to recruit Abby into their twisted pleasure games leaves you chilled. I must say I was sickened by the basement scene which is truly horrible and played on my mind. It is no surprise that these kids are desperate to escape - especially when Echo reveals a new power, which even I didn’t see coming - but it was a great twist to see their enemies get what was coming to them.

Yet again, the story ends on another stunning cliff-hanger, leaving you hankering for the next instalment - and with the good characters settled in immeasurable wealth and comfort, oblivious to the deadly Armoni who stalks them, I cannot wait to read Book 3. Very well done!

I received this book to give an honest review.

Man oh man I was captured from the first page and found myself not wanting to put it down.

You are taken into the future where the government is not like it use to be and everyone is pretty much poor. You will meet Echo one of the creatures whose brother was in book one named Baby. Also you will meet other characters Scotty, Abby, Jose who all play a big part.

The way the author described some of the horrific things that one of the not so good humans named Armoni I was like dang! I felt so bad for the victims, it had me cringe. Which it is truly hard for a book to do that, but this one did. You fall in love with Echo being as she is so well evolved, but yet at times reminds you of a child.

There are some type of gruesome scenes but they were not too bad.

It does seem to me that those that are weak or hurt are the ones that seem to find these creatures that are named Echo and Baby. As in the first book Netty was running away from her abusive husband and she discovered Baby. Scotty running away from his home when his father stops by and starts fighting with his mom ends up finding Echo. So that part is very interesting.

I did enjoy reading towards the end where Scotty and Echo go on rescue missions, I thought that was really cool how they help animals that need it.

Now the very end where Echo says what her mission really is, I can tell there will be more. Thank goodness I have book three so I can pick up where this book left off.

The only thing I would say about this book is that the way the blurb is written some of it was not in the story or if it was I truly missed it.

Here is the part: "Having fallen in love, the young Abby and Jose draw close, only to be separated by the transcendental Netty, who tries to use Abby as a conduit in her plan to rescue as much wildlife as they can before despicable political events bring on the specter of Armageddon."

Yes Abby and Jose fall in love with each other, I mean who wouldn't if you live together, but the part where Netty tried to use Abby as a conduit, there was no real mention of Netty using Abby.

I was given a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Wow. I’m still trying to digest this book a day after finishing it. The first book in the series, Baby (Species Intervention #6609, book one), was set in the past. The language was formal. The tone of the book was very peaceful in spite of the rather horrific things that happened. Echo was not peaceful at all and it came as a bit of a shock.

Part of my reaction, I suppose, is that Echo is set in the near future and the world is not a nice place. Good healthcare is impossible to get. The US is going further and further into debt. The government is money grabbing and corrupt. The majority of the citizens are looking out for themselves, with no care as to how other people are treated and no desire to help anyone or anything else. In essence, the world is everything that I fear will happen shortly unless some major changes are made. This made reading the book rather uncomfortable—I tend to read in order to escape the sometimes harsh reality that I live in and this book did not allow that escape. It made me think, rethink, and examine a few things that I was trying to avoid. While this is a good thing, at least from a psychological standpoint, this kind of self-examination is always unsettling and it will take a bit for it to all sink in.

As in the first book, Echo contains some pretty graphic violence. There is some incest (not graphic) and rape. There is violence toward animals, death, and torture. I truly believe that these things are necessary to the story, but if you are a sensitive reader you should be aware that these things are there. I would not hesitate to give this to my daughter to read, but for most it would be good to keep this 18+ unless the teen is exceptionally mature.

I am going to start book three, Armageddon Cometh, in a few days. It is already loaded onto my Kindle, I am just letting everything settle into place before I start the next book. I hope that you continue to read this series and would like to suggest that you do so in the order it was written, if only to save yourself some confusion.

Echo is the second book of the Species Intervention #6609 series. We pick up the story a full century from the time of Netty, Wil, and Baby. The year is 2033 and our government seems to be falling apart. Most familes are poor and welfare is cut off for anyone working. This in turn is causing some families to merge to make ends meet. This is how we meet Abby, Scotty, and eventually Jose. As time goes on we finally meet Echo, the offspring of Baby, who has been hiding out in the Hive. Just as Baby did Echo seems to cause physical changes in her new found companions. We learn more about the Oolhan creatures and what their mission on earth may be. Yet maddeningly, its still shrouded in mystery.

Accinni's second installment in the series is much more enthralling than the last. I like how it didn't pick up on Baby's story but still has mentions of him throughout the book. It made the story more unique to me. As with Baby I felt as though I was in the book myself and I was constanly passionate about the characters as I was feeling what they were feeling. I found myself cheering them when things were good and crying with them when things got bad. Apart from that Accinni shows her voice on may issues from politics to religion in different ways. I enjoyed this book very much, apart from a couple of scences with the villian of the book. I think Accinni is a new author to look out for, especially if you are into science ficiton! Can't wait to start the next book in the series Armageddon Commeth.

My Review will contain MANY Spoilers! Please do NOT continue on if you don't want to know what goes on in this book.

This one was a little bit harder for me to get into feeling it. We get a new gang of Characters, out with the old and in with the new! Writing Style stays the same, Characters POV's jump from one to the next. The storyline bounced from Scotty to Echo then Jose. Barney was another constant fixture as well.

Thought some facts could have been left out about Jose because they seemed to cause more questions than answers. Lets hope that these get answered within the next book or the one following and were not left hanging, like with Baby.

The book jumped a mere 10 years into the future of Scotty, Abby and their mom, along with the Diaz clan. I felt cheated out on those years lost. More death hits home with their story's, with a brief pause for their grievances. It was all chaotic and fast. Fast forward button, hit pause then rewind!

Another thing that stumped me was, that this book again (like Baby) has sadness. Always sad! I'm hoping this is not going to be a recurrence, now I'm not so sure. AT some point in the next book(s) would love to have my HEA. That or any of the Characters get whats coming to them, Justice!

We catch a glimpse of the mysterious "Womb" creature (previously in Baby,) finally have confirmation to Echo's and Baby's Quest!

One side character did remind me of Hannibal Lector (Silence of the Lambs.) Freaked me out! Again, not suitable for anyone under 18. Content includes- limited/mild talk about insist. *SICK*

I received this book from the Author for an honest review.

Echo is a continuation into a Sci-Fi thriller that will have you in its grip until the end. I wasn't sure how I would like the passing in years between Book 1 and Book 2, but once I started the story it was even better then the first one!

Based in a post apocalyptic Earth, Echo the offspring from Baby, awaits patiently for over a century for the "One" to come. With all new characters this could actually be a stand alone, but the Author has cleverly added in bits of the past that ends up complimenting this story to its fullest. We are given a deeper insight into what Echo is and where she comes from when she befriends a young boy traumatized by an abusive father, a teenage boy adopted into a family after his family is brutally murdered, and a dog named Barney. Just like in Baby, Echo comes into a broken family and heals them all showing them golden love from her and the womb. But this story couldn't be complete without a villain or two and the Author does not disappoint. You will meet one so disgustingly horrible that you dread whenever his name is mentioned.

Whether you like Sci-Fi thrillers with a bit of serial drama or extraterrestrial adventures where the characters grow tails and can heal, Echo is a great book filled with a twist in the end that foreshadows what is to come in Book 3. I can't wait!

When I started to read this series I really wasn't really sure if I would be able to really get into the books. Well I can tell you that I was truly impressed. Throughout both book one (Baby) and Echo I was able to totally submerge myself into the characters. Each of these books has been very well written and laid out. I love a book that makes you wonder. One that will allow you to throw yourself into the story so deep that you just cant put down the book ... You just HAVE to see what happens next. I can tell you if you are that type of reader.. Well then this series of books is what you are looking for. So check em out. (Baby, Echo, Armageddon Cometh, & Hive) You wont be disappointed. I promise!!!

Well a 100 years has passed since we left Netty, Will and Baby as they met their untimely demise at the order of an evil man. We find a young mother trying to deal with the daily struggles of having two sickly children, Abby and Scotty, and a husband who has been abusive to everyone. Heroically she escapes to try and make a better life for herself and her children in the old farmland of Sussex County. There they unite with a Latino family to share a house while trying to make ends meet during such a distraught economy. These two families will create a bond that allows them to over come so much.

When they discover the miraculous offspring of Baby ... Echo. Follow them all through the amazing changes that Echo brings.

Advance to 2033, Scotty and Abby live on Lily Pond Road, the site of Netty’s destroyed home. Scotty finds the womb rock on his seventh birthday. He leaves a piece of birthday cake for the creature he catches a glimpse of. This creature is called Echo because of the way she communicates. She is Baby’s sister. Scotty and Abby have to learn to adapt to another family because of hardships and two households blend into one home to make ends meet. This extended family splits when Scotty’s mother and one of the boys is killed in a car wreck. Echo heals Scotty, Abby, and Jose and makes the Oolaban elders.
Echo builds them a golden tree house and they decide to cash in and move to Florida. They hire an attorney named Peter Gavin to help them exchange the gold for currency. Echo gives them diamonds too. Throughout all of this they are chased by really bad guys. Echo deals with them also. In this middle tale we see the good Echo does for those she has adopted. There is a hint of what she might want in return.

You have to get past the covers of these books. I don’t think the covers do the stories inside justice. They are really stories about people who are hurting and injured finding love and healing from this little alien. Look past the cover and get into the story. I enjoyed them. The characters grabbed me and didn’t let me go until I got to the end. The action is vividly portrayed. I’m ready for the next episode.

This book has little to save it from sheer mediocrity. The story begins with a political rant about the rich and poor that goes way beyond what is necessary to set the scene. I don't like to be cruel in my reviews, but again, like the first book in this series, the narrative is somewhat lacking.
Immediately upon closing the broad political update to take us into the year 2033, there is a demonstration of violence and the description of the brutal rape and killing of a seventeen year old girl. It is not for the faint of heart, but was used by the author in an attempt to demonstrate the cruelty of the pervasive evil that has taken deep root in the land.
The creature, 'Echo', child of the ill-fated 'Baby' finds her own humans to genetically enhance as she begins to follow through on the mission from book 1.
New characters now gain tails and the ability to heal and go from a ‘rags to riches’ situation via help from the alien connection. They are pursued to a wealthy neighborhood by the one attacker that they let slip through their fingers without disgustingly ripping the flesh from his body.
This demented soul now becomes a full-fledged character, but has no time to reap his aggravated vengeance as the book closes with a more complete understanding of the mission.

At best this is a difficult read, lacking the mild charm of the first book.

I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second book in the Species Intervention #6609 series by A.K. Accinni that I have been able to read and review. I thought book one was crazy, Echo is ten times more crazy. I actually for it to be very disturbing and I was actually afraid that I was going to have very vivid nightmares from reading it. J.K. Accinni is such a detailed writer that my mind will forever be scarred from some of the events that occurred in this book. I thought I felt like committing after reading book one Baby, well it has nothing on Echo. Besides the disgusting things that occurred in this novel, I found it to somehow be the happier book. I felt like the characters in this book ended up better off then the characters from book one, obviously.
Echo was by far the best character. She was so cute and caring and I just wanted to pick her up and cuddle her. Abby,Jose and Scotty were decent, but they were just "there" compared to Echo. And don't even get me started on the "bad guys". They deserved what they got and all I have to say to Armoni is "Karma is a bitch".
Despite these books being completely disturbing due to the graphic details, I can't seem to put them down. I will continue the series for sure. I would recommend them to sci- fi lovers and NOT to the faint of heart.
