Larissa Jacobs' financial debt is climbing after a failed attempt at becoming the next big thing in Hollywood--and now her roommate has asked her to come up with the rent by the end of the weekend or she'll be out on the street. But her roommate soon takes pity on her and offers to help her get a job working with him for an escort service. Larissa's first client is Senator Chase Underwood: gorgeous, married, and the current presidential candidate. Will his penchant for sexual domination destroy his prospects of world domination?
This is the first short story in the Power Players Series.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cassia Leo grew up in California and has lived in three different countries. She loves to travel and her dream is to one day score a record deal based on her awesome shower singing skills. She is the author of the Shattered Hearts series (Relentless, Pieces of You, Bring Me Home). She is also the author of the popular Luke and Chase series.
Great I read this book looking for a quick little read that wouldn't necessarily suck me in and it did the exact opposite... Lol.
Larissa has loans stacked a mile high and a job that isn't helping. She seeks out a new position with a high profile escort service and quickly becomes the object of a very important man's attention.
Senator Chase Underwood is a man that gets what he wants, and his eye is currently on Larissa. His busy life preparing for his campaign for presidency has left him very little time to indulge in the pleasures he seeks. With a life planned out before him (complete with a hired wife), Chase searches for a woman that can and will bend to his needs (on a personal and professional level). The search stops when he finds Larissa and she's more than willing to join the campaign as his personal assistant and more.
The chemistry these two share in book one is just the tip of the iceberg. Things move pretty fast between them but the details, heat, and development doesn't suffer in the writing. Chase states exactly what he wants and goes after it, while Larissa stumbles along for the ride. It'll be interesting how their story unfolds, and if feelings will develop on either side.
This freebie offered a glimpse into book two where Chase and Larissa continue their new relationship and now I'm hooked! Again, short stories like these pull me in and then I'm hooked. I can't wait to download the entire series. I only hope that the story continues to get better and not fizzle.
This book is short - extremely short. It has been on my Kindle since January 2013. So, I didn't even remember what it was about. It has been so long since I'd read the description. I read it in one sitting. I will not be moving on to the next book because I didn't care for these characters.
Chase is a senator running for president of the United States. He is married even if it is for appearances, what type of woman will willingly be the second lady in a man's life. That showed weakness to me and made me dislike Larissa. She is going to work on his campaign so that she can get paid, but she is also there to satisfy his sexual needs - WTF. That's prostitution.
Larissa is an escort, trying to make money to pay some debt. They have a sexual encounter as soon as they meet. That turned me off from this book. There was no sexual tension and no build up to their physical relationship.
"I've never met anyone as fiercely loyal and trusting and beautiful as you, Larissa. I want the world to know not just that I love you but that you love me, because that's what makes me the luckiest bastard in the world"
First let me start by saying, the reason I read this was because I just finished the Luke Series by Cassia Leo and I had to read this also. These series are great, they are really quick reads but only because you get sucked in from the first sentence and don't put it down until its over.
Larissa is in her early 20's and moved to L.A. to become an actress. After not getting her big break she picks up small side jobs. After losing her last job as a children's party entertainer, she resorts to becoming an escort for Black Tie Escorts where her roommate worked for 3 year. The only reason she takes the job is because if she doesn't start doing something she won't be able to pay for her student loans, debt and even rent.
She knew her first day at work was going to be someone with a high profile client but she didn't expect it to be Chase Underwood, the 39 year old Senator, Presidential Candidate and MARRIED Chase Underwood!
She quickly finds herself as his new Personal Assistant for his Campaign with LOTS of benefits...and I can't stress the work LOTS enough!
"When life hands you a precious gift, wrapped in a flashy bow, sometimes it turns out to be a boxful of lemons"
With Chase being such a high profile person, their "relationship" has to remain a secret. With reporters and journalists everywhere, someone is bound to figure something out.
Chase and Larissa's odds of being able to stay together don;t look good....is their love for each other strong enough to last??
Chase was so sweet. You want him to have everything and even though you want to yell...JUST GIVE IT UP FOR HER...you know he can't do that. Not just anyone can get the chance to run for president. He deserves to get what he wants and has worked for 10 years to get also. It is all just so bitter sweet!
Also, let me tell you...this book was H.O.T., hot, hot, hot!!! Chase....a VERY generous man!
Oh, I can't forget to mention Drew...He is a secret service agent that is always with Larissa and oh boy, I fell for that man!! YUUMMMMMY!!!
The entire series is told in Larissa's POV. I would have loved to hear what Chase was thinking in a few parts but it really didn't change by opinion at all.
Cassia Leo really captivates her readers from the start! She has a full length novel coming out soon called Relentless and I must say, I will be reading that the day its out, CAN NOT WAIT!!!
I wont be casting this one on my own because all the covers show pictures and I really like them as the characters...they are perfect!!
Larissa Jacobs takes a job as an escort to pay down her student loan debt and try to buy some time as she attempts to make a name for herself in Hollywood. Her first job is with Chase a Underwood who is a high profile politician and Presidential hopeful. He makes her an offer she just can't refuse.
Super quick and fast novella and has me mildly curious where this will lead... So on to book two.
Does this even need explaning? It's just a few pages of smut. Like seriously? It was pathetic and the smut was bad. Not because it was written badly, but because of how things we're just thrown together. I seriously couldn't care less, this was just .
My, my, my a hopeful and handsome presidential candidate, Chase Underwood hooks up with a new escort, Larissa Jacobs and everything goes up from there! No, Underwood is not a "Donald R. Trump!" Chase has class unlike the Trump!
Larissa:
"Money will make a person do crazy things; like standing in front of a hotel waiting to be picked up for your first job as a professional escort."
2,5 stars.......The plot just doesn't work for me. She's a first time escort, he's a married senator. It's insta-love, affair, then she's his assistant working for his campaign. I think the character's need better development, and time to build up to relationship/romance part of the story.
I have to say that i'm a bit disappointed...because IT WAS TO SHORT :((
The story is super great. Even it resembles a lot with Fifty Shades i still love this story. The power and all the actions. I love Chase. I love twisted powerful man. :)) I know.. i'm a maniac, but i can't abstain myself. Anyway, I know that you will read this book, and don't have to tell you how great it is. You will read it and you will became addicted. And will beg for more, even when you will finish reading all the series. :)
Cassia Leo is a master genius. And i'm so in love with her books.:)

I didn't quite connect to any of the characters, besides, am not a fan of any political corrupt and nonsense drama. This is boring and I don't see any promise of it getting any better on the next books, no strong plot and quite boring...it seems like it's just another way of the author finding a way to prolong this nonsensical story into money making series. Lucky me, I didn't have to pay for it, it was free! So I can't really complain, right? it's like getting free lunch, just didn't enjoy it and now having an acid re-flux :( I definitely would not be reading the next books.
Larissa's first client is non other than presidental canidate senator Chase. Easy first night leads to suprise visitor and a lesson the next day. The date was hot and sexy and it ends with a proposistion.
Just enough to make you want more.
Warning adultry but marriage only for show so questionable depending on your views.
This was a freebie teaser so well worth the quick read.
I really enjoyed this erotic short. In a small amount of time I was intrigued by the main characters (Larissa and Chase) and I wanted to immediately know more about their background stories. The writing was clean with no typos to be found. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because I wanted it to continue!! Hopefully the author has the next part coming out soon!
I clearly overlooked the fact that this was a short story so I was very shocked when I reached the last page.
Chase is a quick and steamy read from start to finish. It left me wanting to know more about the main characters Larissa & Chase and how things are going to work out between the two of them.
This is a very short story that just needs a little more detail. Larissa is in major debt and needs to come up with her rent. She’s been offered a job as an escort. Her first client just happens to be Senator Chase Underwood, the current presidential candidate. He offers a position in his campaign and fireworks could possibly ignite for them.
Got this as a freebie. It is too short to really get into the characters, and it is a bit unbelievable so far. However, it does set the scene for the rest of the series, which I am now interested in reading.
We are introduced to Chase and Larissa in this book. We learn Larissa's background and how she ends up with Chase. Chase is a hot, up incoming politician. He wants Larissa but there is one catch: he is married. We'll she submit to what he wants? He is very convincing!
The book was quite heated, but to me it just lacked an edge of passion in the writing. The story Larissa is an escort and Chase is the Senator paying for her services. Although we get to know she shares her flat with her gay bff I didn't feel as though there was any sub-characters, or any extra....
I picked up this steamy "little"(-and when I say little I mean short as in 27 pages) book for free yesterday on Amazon. The preface for the book hooked me. I like the idea of the potential drama, secretive liaison's, etc. I am guessing the point in publishing this little excerpt for FREE was to hook readers so they will buy the other 4 parts and it successfully hooked me in 25 pages, then I went to purchase the rest of the story. I want more of Larissa and Chase, their interactions were hot, this has the potential to be an awesome story..
... and then I saw that the complete set for parts 1-4 was priced at - $3.99, for a total book length of 101 pages! I am all for novellas and short stories, but no way am I paying $4.00 for 101 pages, even if this story is amazing. When/if this is priced at a more reasonable price (say .99-$1.99) I will consider buying so I can read the rest of the story.
I give this excerpt 5 STARS, it is HOT, but I will wait for either a sale or it to be added to a collection before I make the final purchase to finish the story. This was my first taste of Cassia Leo's writing and I definitely think she is a writer I will follow going forward (if the price is right :)
I will preface this review by saying that I have previously read and enjoyed the Luke and Shattered Hearts series by Cassia. So when I saw this new series on a book blog I follow and all the raving they were doing over it, I one clicked it! Mistake.
Hooker/Escort girl, I call her this as I cannot even remember her name, is on her first escort job "date". A handsome man invites her into his car, fingers her, and then takes her home. He is of course none other than an ambitious 39 year old newly married US Senator And Presidential candidate, Chase Underwood. The very next morning, Chase returns to her loft and has sex with her, then invites her to dinner at his posh restaurant. Of course it's just the two of them, and he proceeds to finger her more while proposing a job offer to her, wherein she will serve as his personal assistant slash sex slave on his campaign. All of this happens in like 10 pages, because this "book" was so freaking short I read it in like 15 minutes. I literally, not really, have whiplash from how fast we progressed from hired escort to whisked off her feet and in a contractual relationship with her dream guy. Seriously!
Yep, I am O. U. T. on this ridiculousness. I will also be "sampling" future stuff before purchasing. Lesson learned.
(Source: Downloaded for free from Amazon.co.uk) This is a short erotic story about a girl called Larissa who is starting work at an escort agency to pay off her student loans, and her first customer – Chase Underwood – the future president! Larissa is unsure what to make of this, as Chase is married, but she can’t help herself anyway. The idea of being paid $5000 to have sex with the sexy future president? Awesome.
This was an interesting short story, only I found it quite funny that Larissa assumes that she will be expected to have sex with her client, when she claims to be working as an escort – not a prostitute. Aren’t these sorts of ‘escort’ agencies illegal?
The ‘love’ scenes between the two are pretty hot, but don’t expect much conversation! And there are also some, let’s just say ‘alternative’, love-making situations going on as well. This brief excerpt is not the full story between these two, and the action just ends suddenly to be continued in the next instalment.
Overall; an interesting short, but felt like the first chapter of a book. 6.5 out of 10.
The storywas good, but it felt way too incomplete. I've read books written this way before, in what many authors of this format, call epidoes, and I've enjoyed some, but this story cut off in a way that was abriupt and a bit incomplete.
I honestly think if the author had split up the complete series into two 'episode' instead of the many, or even better if she sold it instead as one complete novella, I would have loved this story. It's different. It's interesting. I has major potential factor.
That is all overcast by the abrupt cut off and the page length however.
I would never buy the series as separate items, not for 3 bucks per 30 page.
Tip: The storyline was building very nicely until the cut off and Cassia Leo is a great writer. However, if you plan on reading this series, be sure to buy THE COMPLETE SERIES!
Buying them separately is a waste of money many of us can't afford these days.
So, this escalated quickly. Larrisa went from her first day as an escort to a personal assistant to the future President. Her contract comes with lots of rules but we don't learn much after there because it abruptly ends and you need to purchase the next few pages of the story.
I am not fond of this style of writing. Either, give me the entire book or don't bother. I want a real story, not a cliffhanger to purchase more.
That being said this was fairly intriguing. I wanted to learn more but I doubt I'll get the remaining story.
One thing that seemed to bother me was the sexual encounters. I felt they were hurried and abrupt and I felt like I was missing something.
That being said, it was a good start but wish it finished.
This was supposed to be a quick read for me to get over the disappointment of my last book before I head into another, a book where I could coast through and not care too much.
Firstly, note to self, make sure that this is not book one of more! Secondly I did care and got sucked into the story.
This was a very short book, 40 pages or so and a sneak look at book two, I really want to know what happens next.
Would be president needs an escort and gets first timer Larissa, instant attraction, he clearly knows what he wants and Larissa is yes Sir, of course Sir, willingly.
This first taste of the Power Players series featuring presidential hopeful Senator Chase Underwood is just what the doctor ordered. Larissa Jacobs is an aspiring actress in Hollywood, but that's not working out very well. Now she is broke, and her roommate recommends an elite escort service as a means of employment. Her first night on the job she encounters the enigmatic and sexy as hell Senator, and that is all she wrote. Well, actually she wrote quite a bit more, and it was my kind of kinky.
I'm so glad that I am catching this series already complete-my need to find out more about Chase and where this hot as sin relationship goes has to be satisfied without interruption. Great read!
It is that short I would liken this as a sample. Very well written but they are all very short. Although I am open to reading a lot of things, I hear the words 'safe word' and anything related and totally switch off. I have read 'fifty shades of grey' and while that was a great read it was all very new, shocking and exciting for the world and so well received. I am not interested in going there again as I have been there done that... So the introduction of contracts and safe words has lost me. In saying that I can't give it less than 4 stars due to the quality of writing and execution. I won't be reading anymore but would certainly consider anything else by Cassia Leo.
I knew this was a series before I started reading, but I didn't except every book to be so short. This is the first part and it pretty much gets you straight to the point, but not very much happens. All they do is meet, fool around A LITTLE in the limo, he takes her home, then the next day he shows up and offers her a position on his campaign. And that's it. I guess I just have to finish the series, but I was hoping to get a little bit more information out of the first book. It was well written and it drew me in, but there just wasn't anything to it. I would recommend buying the bundle and having all the books at your access right them and not read them separately by each book.
I like reading these stories that are different. This is a short erotic story about a girl called Larissa who is starting work at an escort agency to pay off her student loans, and her first customer - Chase Underwood - the future president! Larissa is unsure what to make of this, as Chase is married, but she can't help herself anyway. What will happen? I can not wait to see where Chase and Larissa's relationship goes! This is very exciting and a must read! Also this is a cliffhanger you will have to buy the others to finish the story.
Cassia, Cassia, Cassia...where did you find my fantasies? Did I leave them out without noticing? Seriously, I loved every second of this book and even into the second book. Larissa is a funny, witty, sexy girl that's dating a man that makes me want to swoon. I laughed, I squirmed and I read a million words a minute. This is an excellent book and proves to be an even more outstanding series. I'm sold! Sign me up for the series. I must know what happens with these two...
