Virginia Nelson believed them when they said, “Write what you know.” Small town girl writing small town romance, her characters are as full of flaws, misunderstandings, and flat out mistakes as Virginia herself. When she’s not writing or plotting to take over the world, she likes to hang out with the greatest kids in history, play in the mud, drive far too fast, and scream at inanimate objects. Virginia likes knights in rusted and dinged up armor, heroes that snarl instead of croon, and heroines who can’t remember to say the right thing even with an author writing their dialogue. Her books are full of snark, sex, and random acts of ineptitude—not always in that order.

As most people know, I love Decadent Publishing. Yes, I will admit that I love their series, One Night Stand and now I’m hooked on The Edge. Thanks Heather! Well, Hypnotist by Virginia Nelson is another winner from The Edge series.

Short in length but not on plot. I immediately connected with Carnie. As a smoker myself, I know terrible habit, I can understand the money suck, relatives dying and just the general I need to quit, so let’s hope this works. Of course, I’ve never tried a hypnotist to stop smoking but its an idea. She is prepared for nothing to happen to her during her session but she is completely unprepared for the man that says that he can help her. Oh and he does help her in a way that she didn’t know that she needed.

Mike was also not prepared for his next patient. Looking for love in all the wrong places and getting burned, he just wanted someone to love him and for him to love them back. No airs, not after his money, just love him for himself. *sigh* I loved Mike from the start. His inner dialogue was great, too. High school boy indeed. Not! He was a red blooded male.

When these two finally came together it was hot and intense. Carnie was a woman on a mission and her mission was Mike. He did not disappoint her. He he! Read it and you will see for yourself.

If you are looking for a short, well thought out, sexy read…look no further. Hypnotist is that read. Once you are finished, go check out the other The Edge books. You won’t be sorry.

******* THIS IS AN ADULT BOOK REVIEW DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE STORY *******

Hypnotist is a Novella and only 27 pages of pure adult fun! I have to say I loved the scenes between Carnie and Michael. Both come from broken baggage but when they come together they are amazing and the sparks fly right of the pages. Steamy HELL YES! Fun read HELL YES!

Carnie is trying to quit smoking. She has tried but it is so hard she needs some extra help. She decides she will go see a hypnotist in the hopes the hypnotist can help her. When she goes to her appointment she is entranced by the hypnotist who is GORGEOUS! Michael the hypnotist is looking for a nice girl. One who does not want to chew and screw. One who wants to stay around for a while. In walks Carnie for a session and he is entranced by her and her beauty.

Once they come together the sex is steamy and they fight together like hand and glove. This is a quick read and had me wanting more. Happy Reading!

Who knew that wanting to quit smoking could get so sexy? Damn... I am rethinking my own bad habit. Especially if getting hypnotized to quit could have such delicious results!

This is a 27 page story about a moment in Carnie's life, where things take a strange turn. One simple and well meaning sentence while hyptonized by Mike Schommer, changes both of their evenings. For the better I would imagine.

Looking for a short, sexy escape read? Then you want to pick this one up and give it a chance.

Virginia pens her characters believable and steamy hot in "Hypnotist". This book is a short 27 page easy read filled with romance, lust and sex, that tells in depth a story of someone looking for love and to be loved. I honestly wished it was longer but totally enjoyed the tale. Recommended for mature audiences that love a good quick romantic read.

Carnie wants to quit smoking, so at her mother's suggestion, she goes to see a hypnotist. Mike just wants to find someone he can love and be loved by. Neither of them expected the passion unleashed by a simple hypnotic suggestion for Carnie to follow her instincts and take a chance to find the love they both want.

Virginia Nelson has done an amazing job creating a short story with characters that are as full of depth as those of a full length novel. Both Carnie and Mike are looking to find someone to love and be loved. They just never expected it to be with each other. This makes them very easy to relate to. Doesn't everyone want to find the very same thing? But the fact that Hypnotist is only a short novella with such an in-depth story and characters is what makes this book so great.

Hypnotist my be a part of The Edge series, but with this book, unlike some of the others, I felt that there was more emphasis on what Carnie and Mike were searching for that on their late night rendezvous.

Hypnotist was such a great, quick read. I really wish there were more to their story. Hypnotist would make a great prequel to a series, or even a stand alone novel.

Skeptical is a nice way of putting how Carnie Sabatina feels about the whole hypnotist thing.

Michael Schommer is just plain tired. He wants more in his life than superficial relationships and his God-awful cheesy office.

She may not believe in hypnotism, although Carnie is ready to try, if it means getting rid of her nasty and expensive smoking habit. Her faith in the therapy may be questionable, but her libido is ready to do Hail Mary’s after meeting Michael. Five minutes alone with Carnie has Michael scrambling to maintain control. This could be the woman he has sought for so long, which makes keeping things professional nearly impossible.

I love when a story can make you laugh just by picturing its characters. Carnie looks like we all do on a crazy busy day, but put her in the room with Michael and all of a sudden everything except him falls away. The build begins the moment Carnie and Michael meet, intensifying to pure need with every word. So, if your day needs a little afternoon delight—and whose does not?—this naughty little treat is sure to do the trick.
