It’s hard for me to imagine that I’ve been writing romances for over twenty years now! I started at the young age of 21, just after I got married. Reading romances, and then writing them, came about as a result of having too much time on my hands. When I first married my husband Don, I was working a regular nine to five job and he worked swing shift, from four in the afternoon until midnight. It wasn’t an ideal schedule for newlyweds, and in order to pass those hours when I was alone I started reading romances, and eventually tried my hand at writing them.
The road to publication wasn’t an easy one. It took me five years and dozens of rejections to make my first sale, which was to Harlequin for their “Stolen Moments” line. THE FAMILY MAN, written under the pseudonym Danielle Kelly, was one of the twelve novellas published in 1993 for this promotional line.

It took me another two and a half years (and more rejections!) to sell my second book. HEAVEN’S GIFT (written under my own name) was published in October 1995 by Leisure Love Spell for their “An Angel’s Touch” series. Another two years passed of collecting even more rejections before I finally sold to Harlequin Romance and Harlequin Temptation. At the time, writing for both Temptation and Harlequin Romance provided me with a wonderful creative outlet for both my modern, ultra-sexy stories, and my warmer, traditional romances. But as the years passed, I realized how much I enjoyed writing the sexier stories and streamlined my career accordingly so that I was no longer writing the sweet traditional romances, and instead focused on the hotter, sexier stories for Temptation and Blaze.

After writing over two dozen books for Harlequin, I decided to branch out. I wanted to write anthologies and single titles, and came up with an idea about three sexy brothers with the last name of “Wilde”. Little did I know that those Wilde brothers would become such a sensation with readers. In the second Wilde book, WILDE THING, four Wilde cousins were introduced, and readers started writing in for their stories, too. It’s been a joy and pleasure to write each of the Wilde stories, and I want to thank everyone for purchasing those books and putting them on the USA Today Bestseller list!

I’ve been a full-time writer for years, which consists of being deep in deadlines, writing proposals (growling at the husband to fix a glitch in the computer so I can get back to work!), perusing contracts, line-edits (stressing over a scene that won’t work or characters that just won’t talk or cooperate with my plans for them!), galleys, art-fact sheets, promotion, and other publishing paperwork. Admittedly, I wouldn’t trade all the craziness in for pantyhose, rush hour traffic, and a nine-to-five job again. Writing is hard work, but I find the rewards are well worth the effort. Fan letters are one of those priceless rewards, and can keep me on a high for days! I’ve met the most wonderful people through my books, some of which I now consider good friends.

This is three short stories by three different authors. I enjoyed the stories. The third one by Mary Janice Davidson was my favorite. It was about a woman who bought an old house from a very old woman who grew up in it. The house ended up being haunted by a ghost that was able to communicate his name being Jack. Meanwhile the neighbor is this drop dead gorgeous hunk that always walks around with nothing but his jeans and tool belt on and always insisting on helping the woman around her house. Unfortunately the guy is a major jerk dropping f bombs all the time and just not having any tact.

One day the neighbor has a mishap with a drill and electricity and ends up dying in her house and she uses mouth to mouth on him till EMS gets there. They were able to revive him and he puts her down as her emergency contact while filling out paperwork at the hospital so when they send him home the hospital sends him to her for after care. He ends up being a super sweet soft spoken gentleman, which of course makes the woman interested in him. She then figures out that he is the ghost Jack in Ken's body. I liked that twist! Thought it was great!!

I only read the first story in the book as I don't care for the other 2 types of stories.

The story by Janelle Dennison was awesome. I especially like how when Tess came back to town to remodel her grandmother's house to sell, she went to the one person who she knew could help her, even if that was her ex-boyfriend Morgan. And even though when she first approached, Morgan wanted nothing to do with her, he quickly realized that he was still in love with her, and not ready to admit it to her yet, went to her with the disguise of putting past behind them and he would do what was needed to get the house ready for sale.

In the end, she finally accepted that she also was still in love with him and closed up things to come back and have a relationship with Morgan and marry him.

3 short novellas(?) by 3 authors, all second chance stories, the first two both about men who work with their hands and the women who broke their hearts when they left town to go to college, leaving their high school sweethearts behind. Now they are back to take care of some business, but will they realize that the man they left is more important than the life in the big city. I'm not sure why the last story, a ghost story was included.

The cover and the back were the reason why I got this book and decided to read it. The stories really didn't have anything to do with men at work, at least not enough to justify why they were thrown together and an anthology titled Men at Work was made. Really liked one of the stories, Slow Hands by Janelle Denison. Her story fit the theme of the anthology very well and was a wonderful read. The rest had me wondering what exactly it was I was reading. The last one had promise, but got too weird at the end. Good book to read for buying it off a used book store, but would have been furious if I had paid the full price.

This book had a touch of humour to it which is a major aspect I like to find in contemporary romances. I love to laugh and Janelle Denison and MaryJanice Davidson are two authors I always look forward to reading. I enjoyed all the stories, the only issue I have of this compilation was that Nina Bangs contribution was a tad silly. To be more precise about what I found silly was the growing plants...

Two out of three isn't bad. Have to say I was surprised when the first of the three stories ended. I had forgotten this was a trio of tales. Did enjoy two of them. The third - well, I've read enough from that author with that recurring theme and cast of characters. It's like reading the same story over and over. The other two were quick fun reads for the bus and lunchroom. Have to admit - I did choose this book by its cover. Yummy.

I will read anything with Mary Janice Davidson in it. She has done quite a few books with other authors which I really enjoy. I found out that Janelle Denison is worth reading more of. That Nina Bangs has a sort of A.D.D. style of writing but her story was memorable. And of course I enjoyed Mary Janice Davidson's story.

This is an okay simply due to the first story.
The first story by Janelle Denison was excellent. Hot and sexy with a good plot. I didn't like the second story by Nina Bings. I got bored with it very quickly. The third story by MaryJanice Davidson was actually my favorite but it was so short it was over before I could savor it.
Overall, very disappointing after the first story.

This is a three smut short story deal. Nothing too overly exciting, but whoo boy! Very steamy! The last story was by MaryJanice Davidson, who is always much fun. It's not a complete waste of time, but the second story really sucked. Okay if you're looking for fluff.

About MaryJanice Davidson's

My first thought when Jack took over Ken's body was "Wouldn't that be funny if he had cirrhosis of the liver and Jack dies again soon?"

And if Ken was 'riddled with STDs' than I hope the sex scene involved a condom.

Take it or leave it. And the prequel to the Castle of Dark Dreams series by Nina Bangs did not live up to the caliber of the rest of the series. Thankfully the rest of that series is awesome, unlike this short story.

It wasn't that good. Maybe the stories were taking and abridged from longer stories? Each just felt really rushed. When they weren't rushed they had a lot of detail leading up to the end and then bam they were over.

I only read the short story by Nina Bangs, "Color Me Wicked". It's the first tale in the Wicked series, and was classic Nina. Sweet, goofy, sexy and charming.
