Sadie, Nicky, Poppy and Kate. Four women who are on the surface sexy, confident and wealthy - but each of them is trapped in a loveless and sometimes violent marriage to four of the most feared London gangsters. For years they have lived a life of idle luxury - shopping, lunching, and occasionally playing away - but all the time loyally staying behind the scenes while their men rule the East End criminal underworld with violence and terror. I was really worried when I discovered this book existed. I was writing my own gangster's moll novel at the time. But phew, of course it was a million miles removed from my work. Once I got past that preconception anxiety, I could just luxuriate in it's wit and imagination, or rather I could skinny dip... It's all avergae knockabout stuff. 4 women with various problems in the relationships to actual gangsters and ne'er do wells decide to form their own criminal gang to show the men. There are occasional pit stops among the low octane thrills where the relationships between the women bonding are looked at, but this remains a light read throughout.

Another quick, easy read, relatively entertaining. I'm surprised Martina Cole allowed herself to be coaxed into providing the glowing recommendation on the front cover, though. The characters were not "wonderful" and I guessed the outcome about half-way through the book, including who would die and what would happen at the end. I got this book free from the book2book newsletter so I'm not complaining. Passes the time, I guess!

It was meh. It was mediocre. It was ok.
Kinds predictable, and no plot build up whatsoever. Kinda sloppy for an actual published book. Also, Niki was like the ultimate stereotype.
Thank god I only paid 25 cents for this book.

Loved this book, easy read, brilliant turnaround for the girls, girl power ! Short easy chapters, characters believable if not a little far fetched in places, but hey, that's what makes a great gangster read, makes the reader feel they are part of the action.

I liked this book but not a gripping crime drama like I usually read but an easy read and a few funny bits. SATC meets The Godfather xxx

Great read

When I purchased this I thought it would be the usual drama/gangster book. But I was pleasantly surprised. Loved it. Women standing up for themselves.
