What lurks in the darkness, watching us walk by, as our daily routine blinds us to the realities beyond our world? Whose face will be reflected in the mirror when you lean in to look at your own tormented eyes? If you have the stomach to investigate the shadowy corners of the basement, to lift the dusty cover thrown over the secrets of the dead, step into L. Marie Wood's world and take a seat.
We've been waiting for you.
Caliginy is a collection of 35 short stories by psychological horror and suspense author L. Marie Wood. This journey into the darkness within will introduce you to a woman who is haunted by an eidolon; a ghostly figure whose countenance is forever frozen to reflect the pain of her death; an apparition who looks exactly like her. There, you will also meet a man, a caretaker of a small cemetery who speaks to his long lost friends as they enter his domain, reminiscing of times past with the dead. A woman will exact the most heinous forms of revenge and a restless spirit will reclaim what is rightfully theirs, all for your pleasure. The terrifying tales within the pages of this book embody the very title the collection has been given: Caliginy-Latin root of caliginous, i.e. dark. Won't you come in?
