If an author is going to use the word "proven" in the title, I expect scientific proof so that I can look up the original studies.
The author didn't mean to be funny, but when you write that a pedometer can be used in lots of activities, including walking, how can you expect to be taken seriously? The purpose is to be used when walking to record steps, and this is just one example of a tip...I am sure the others are also nothing new to someone who has a goal of weight loss.
This is not a book I can recommend as a dietitian to my clients.
