Elizabeth Verdick has been writing books since 1997, the year her daughter was born. Her two children, now ages 13 and 8, are the inspiration for nearly everything she writes. Before becoming an author, Elizabeth edited books for children and parents.

These days she writes books for toddlers to teens, and everything in between. She especially loves creating new board book series for toddlers—the latest series is Toddler Tools™, which helps young children and their parents cope with those tough times and transitions that happen every day (like naptime and bedtime). The Best Behavior™ series helps toddlers reach new milestones and improve their day-to-day behavior.

Elizabeth also enjoys getting the chance to look at the funny side of life in the Laugh and Learn™ series, which helps kids ages 8–13 get a handle on the social/emotional skills they’re developing throughout the elementary– and middle school years. Elizabeth lives with her family and five pets near St. Paul, Minnesota.

A pleasant article to share with a very young reader, and a pleasant rhymed way to get them to physically bond with the right adults – with a smooch here, a hug there and an appropriate kiss there. Half the pages are coloured cartoonish text pages, the other are black and white photos of the babies abiding by the text, for reinforcement and mimicry purposes.

Lots of adorable black and white pictures with a tiny sprinkling of color embellishments. The pictures are simple, ideal for a baby to look at, and alternate with phrases like "Snuggle, baby, snuggle" or "Tender as can be." (I'm not sure about "smooch, baby, smooch", but that may be a translation issue between British English and American English.)

The pictures include infants and toddlers of different ages, with parents of varying ethnicities, being held, kissed and cuddled. At the end, one page gives a few suggestions to parents and other caregivers. I'd consider this more as a baby book than one for a toddler, but you may well find your toddler loves to act out the words on each page.

Who doesn't love cuddling a snuggly little baby? This little board book will delight small children with adorable black and white photos of babies. Alternating pages have cute illustrations in pastel colors behind the large text describing what baby is doing. Each set of words can be acted out with baby while reading it, adding an interactive element to a really simple book.
