I just love this series! It just puts a smile on my face. I love the witty comments and innuendoes. I never see the end coming and that makes a great cozy mystery.

Thread And Buried is the third book in the A Threadville Mystery series.

I think I enjoyed this book the most, so far. It's an easy to read story about all our friends in Threadville and centers around friends and family.

Some thirty years ago Snoozy, who owned the Elderberry Bay Lodge, took his guests valuable jewelry out of the lodge's safe and disappeared. But recently his bones were found buried near the Lodge. Then a day or two later Clay, Willow close friend, unearths a metal box on Willow's property and inside was the missing jewelry. Add to this, Fred Zongassi, who had a big argument with Snoozy and left about the time that Snoozy disappeared, is the one to unearth the bones.

About this time Threadville is having a sidewalk sale, three ladies, not known to any of the shop owners, appear and disrupt things at a couple of the businesses. Later at a community picnic, several people were overcome with flu symptoms, or was in food poisoning? These events have Haylee and Willow if all these unexplained occurrences might be related.

Now it is time for Sally and Tally to get some walks as Haylee and Willow try to figure out what is going on in Threadville.

Looking forward to seeing if the romance bug will be able to bite Willow and Haylee.

really enjoyed this book, kept up the suspense until the very last page. good characters very clever descriptions and qualities for all Willow, Haylee and the moms. loved all the antics from the way they dressed during the day then changing into all black for night snooping. then stumbling on clues as well as meeting the police while out. fun to read to the end, can not wait to start next two books in the series.

This well written novel was the third in a fun cozy mystery series. The characters are well drawn, and they get into the most hilarious and occasionally dangerous circumstances while "not sleuthing" and are often being confronted and embarrassed by the local sheriff or detectives with the state police at almost every turn.

This was a pleasant, easy read. The story had a good plot, nice characters. I think I would enjoy reading other stories with these people. At times the storytelling seemed a little choppy. But overall it was enjoyable. Some of the editing was sloppy, which I find very annoying. Not so much for time and place or names, but small grammatical errors.

I have loved each and every trip to Threadville. Bolin just keeps getting better and better at keeping us In Stitches. This time she pulls out the stops with a village legend that gives us a mystery tangled in another mystery and then some.

All our favorite characters return. Opal, Naomi and Edna are in rare form and the center of a couple of surprises. Clay is doing some work for Willow so he is always around as the almost romance is set to simmer. Haylee continues to help Willow to NOT stay out the investigation and Tally-Ho and Sally-Forth are along on the “walks”. Sally even finds some new friends.

This was a book I just could not put down. I was up reading late into the night and then the author left me wanting more. The last chapter, the last line, leaves us with a smile The next installment can’t come fast enough for me!

I simply adore Threadville, a made up town found in Pennsylvania. I adore the people cast there, the simple lifestyle, the stores that make up main street, the climate, I adore everything and would move there but...it is the creation of a brilliant author, Janet Bolin.

Threadville is excited by a thirty year old mystery which has come to light...Snoozy, a notorious bandit of ladies fine jewelry and money has finally been found...on the grounds of the newly restored Lodge. The Lodge is due for it's grand opening and wow, what a mystery to come out. Snoozy isn't in Mexico at all. What about the money and jewels?

Well, our long suffering, but extremely likeable, Willow Vanderling, owner of 'In Stitches,' machine embroidery store, finds out only too quickly, that her backyard is once again a crime scene, only of precious jewelry this time. Where is the Cash?

After another body is found and various crimes occur throughout Threadville, it is obvious that more is going on than a 30yr old murder mystery.

This was a book that had you invested in the story from page one until the excellent ending. I highly recommend buying a copy or two.

In this Threadville story, the plot revolves around a thirty year old mystery, that of the disappearance of Snoozy Gallagher, owner of Elderberry Bay Lodge and a treasure of stolen jewelry. Willow and her friend Clay are working on the old foundation of Blueberry Cottage. She had the cottage moved to higher ground as flooding was a problem. While burying the cottage's old foundation stones, a box was found. The box contained Snoozy's treasure. Of course, they had to turn it over to the police. Later on at a Village festival, villagers became ill and a body wrapped in quilt batting and materials stolen from the village's shops turns up in the same excavation in which the treasure had been found. Willow feels the two incidents have to be connected in some way. She and her friend Haylee start nosing around and find themselves in hot water several times. Long lost family members, new love interests and a burgeoning love interest between Willow and Clay make this a great read. Lots of details and characters all neatly sewed up in a tantalizing tale.

Willow Vanderling and the shop owners of Threadville do not disappoint. Janet Bolin has once again created another book in the Threadville Mysteries that you won't want to put down. She keeps you guessing right to the end and along the way you can't help but fall in love with Willow, Haylee the three Wierd Mothers, Clay, Captain Smallwood, Detective Gartener, and all of Threadville. If you love sitting down with a good entertaining book this is a series I recommend. The characters are well written and the relationship among them is fun to read. There is always something going on and the humor comes out and just makes you laugh out loud!
I loved this latest book and I am looking forward to more adventures with Willow, Sally-Forth and Tally-Ho and the new additions of mustache and bow tie.

I like Threadville. I think I must have missed the second book, but will scoot back and read it now.

Thread and Buried introduces some characters from Opal's past, and we see Haylee's reaction to her new relatives. This doesn't distract from the mystery, and I really enjoyed finding out whodunit.

I enjoy the friendship between Haylee and Willow. I find it totally believable, and a good way of justifying their detective work. The atmosphere of Threadville is an important part of the books. The romance between Clay and Willow, and a new romance for Haylee are well written. I laugh out loud when I read about Mona and her delusions of grandeur and knowledge.

I will definitely follow this series.

I said I wasn't going to read anymore of this series but got pulled back in somehow. This was a fairly good book. Willow, the owner of In Stitches, is having her cottage moved because it is currently on a flood plain. When the excavator finds human remains, it seems that the body is of Snoozy Gallagher, a hotel owner who disappeared after a jewelry theft over 30 years before. The missing jewels are found the next day in an area close to where the body was found. Willow, of course, needs to find out who is responsible and when another body is found on her property along with two small kittens, she wants answers sooner than later. In this story, Willow seems to have calmed down a bit and is not quite as annoying as she was in the previous book. I'll probably read the next one too.

This is an okay cozy about a truly fantasy town nicknamed "Threadville". Buses of people come in every day to shop the 4 or 5 fabric, yarn, etc shops there. Right. The good news is the characters are likeable, if weird, and the mystery is pretty good. The bad news is that the format is the overdone amateur "snoop" annoys police who warn her 400 times not to snoop, but she continues to anyway (along with destroying evidence) and they're all really kind of friends, so they just use her info and warn her AGAIN to stop. This is an irritating format to me (as I have said before), but it was just tolerable since the mystery did keep my interest. Not sure I'll stick with this series, though.

Clay pointed at a squarish. rusty thing sticking out of the sand near the bottom of the excavation.

Willow and company get involved in a thirty year old mystery when missing jewels are found in her back yard. A town picnic is the focal point for a food poisoning outbreak that affects the local police chief. The town's baker is found dead after also suffering from the food poisoning.

I enjoy the tales from Threadville. I want to visit each shop! Willow's dogs are an integral part of her life and shop. I love how Sally Forth becomes so maternal with the found kittens.

Various family's secrets and old high school drama play well into the story. I look forward to the next book.

Having read the first two books in the series I was excited to read the next one. It didn't let me know. The characters were a great continuation from the first with more development. I really enjoy this series set on Lake Erie. The book could be read without reading the first two, but I recommend reading them first as they do build on each other. The concept if a village centered around various crafts in exciting. I will be passing this along to other readers I know with my recommendations.

This series is getting better as it goes along. I felt the story & characters flowed much better in this book than in the previous books. I enjoyed the interaction between the characters and how the friendships are growing. But once again, Willow's yard becomes a crime scene. More about Opal & Haylee's past is revealed. Several times I had to laugh at the situations or events that were happening. Great story, looking forward to the next book.

Completing a big project in Willow's yard turns up the jewels hidden after a local robbery thirty years before. Then there's a wave of mysterious illness, possibly food poisoning, after a big picnic. A yarnbomber covers the police chief's cruiser in a giant sweater. A handsome man appears and claims to be best friend Haylee's long-lost cousin. Just what is going on in quiet Elderberry Bay?

"Thread and Buried" is the first book by author Janet Bolin that I have read. Janet Bolin weaves a mysterious web that I didn't solve on my own. If the characters and village were real I would enjoy visiting to check out each shop. This book can successfully stand alone though I am looking forward to reading the complete series.

This is the 3rd book in the Threadville series. I had not read the second book, and while some things carried over from the second book, my lack of knowledge about those events did not detract from the story or my enjoyment of the book (in other words, I wasn't totally lost).

Overall, I liked the book, but I do hope that Willow evolves a little more in subsequent books.

This is a very enjoyable read. It zips along with interesting characters and events (a yarn-bombed police car?!)
The mystery is good and not easy to figure out.
The repeated references to the local ice cream stand were hard to take--I want some, too!
My only quibble is that the person who is guilty is a bit under the radar. It all makes sense, but there isn't much pointing in that direction.

Nice little cozy mystery. I'm not that into sewing, but I imagine it would be even better to someone who enjoys embroidery, etc. I'd read more of the series if the opportunity presented itself. This was #3, I think, but I haven't read 1 or 2. Seems like some character relationships are being developed.

I am quickly becoming engrossed in this little world, and can't wait to get my hands on the next in the series. While I still doubt the probability of Threadville (is there really that much of a demand?) I am hooked on these characters, and the characters that are introduced in each new installment. The plots of this one was my favorite so far, I was truly transported.

Another excellent cozy. This series focuses on a lady who runs a machine embroidery shop. The earlier books contained more information on the embroidery side and I missed it a bit more in these later books. Getting the balance must be very hard. This book focuses more on the relationships and the mystery with some very clever twists.

I love this series and hopeless it will continue for a long time. The lakeside setting, the animals and the cute town of Threadville are all so welcoming that I feel like I don't want the books to end. Definitely recommended!
