When Billie was eight years old, her father was murdered. Ever since that day, she has vowed to bring every criminal to justice, especially the man responsible for her father's death. Twenty years later, Billie is still on a mission to rid the streets of criminals. If she can't do it legally, then she takes matters into her own hands. Billie is the hottest lawyer in the district attorney's office. Her record for winning cases is unmatched. If she keeps it up, she could one day take the top spot and become the district attorney. Her boyfriend, Walter, is a hard-nosed detective in the Philadelphia police department. He wants more of Billie's time, but she can't give it to him because she's busy ridding the streets of criminals--and trying to keep her dark secret hidden. Can Billie have it all? Can she keep her boyfriend happy, keep her career on track, and still satisfy her lust for street justice?
Treasure Hernandez, author of Flint and Baltimore Chronicles, delivers another action-packed street classic that will have readers on the edge of their seats.
This book is about a little girl who dad went out on Christmas eve and never came back home because he was murdered. Billie grows up and becomes a district attorney who is living a secret life to rid the streets of the type of people that killed her father.
Being a district Attorney I don't know if the ways she went about getting justice for her father was the most humane. I think this woman is kind of CRAZY! Read Philadelphia and let me know what you think.
Overall it was a pretty good read. I guess you can say it has a little bit of mystery to it.
It was a very short book. I was used to Treasure Hernandez developing plots and story lines more. A District Attorney, forged by personal tragedy, goes on a vendetta against the drug crew that she thinks murdered her dad. Billie morphs into a heroine that leaves no prisoners. Her boyfriend is a detective who has an inkling that something is going on. Sex with Billie blinds him to the reality that she is a murderer. Based in Philly but unfulfilling for me.
This started really intense, the story of Billie's Dad filling in for a shift on the bus route and then getting mistaken for the wrong person and being killed, I was so intrigued. Then as the story went on, I kind of started to get frustrated with the things Billie did to get "street justice". I liked Walter and it made me cranky the things she did that affected that relationship. I do like she finally got the revenge for her Dad, but I felt this story ended very suddenly.

This Book Was A Good Read, But I Thought The Ending Could Have Given Me More. Walter Knew His Heart ❤️ Was Telling Him The Right Things, He Just Didn't Know How To Put The Pieces Of The Puzzle Together, I Feel Billie Should've Told Walter The Truth Since Day One, So He Could've Had Her Back If Need Be!!!!!
The ending ughhh! Wish the book would have ending differently still a lot of unanswered questions and I don’t like how Billy just walked away free. Is there a part two?

Enjoyable read but did'nt like the ending. Billie took the law into her on hands, Street Justice. She avenged her father's killer after twenty years. I believe Walter knew she was the killer near the end.
Nice quick read that takes place in Philly. Billie is an asst ADA who prosecutes defendants for a living but persecutes in her spare time to avenge her father's death. Her boyfriend is a detective born and bred but must decide between love and logic when it comes to Billie
