As far as information regarding the Paleo lifestyle, there wasn't anything ground breaking here. However, Jason did a great job of covering the psychological aspects of wanting to live a healthy life and what's standing in our way. I also enjoyed the 21 day meal plan (not to follow exactly but for recipe ideas). The only thing I would have liked to see was a more in depth fitness plan, particularly weight training.

I won this book in a contest from Sarah Fragoso's blog, and I'm glad I did. I hadn't planned to read it. It was a good read, especially for someone like me who is relatively new to Paleo (6 months) and still learning. The best part of this book is the "think" section where he explains why it's important to get your head in the right place and explains why traditional dieting doesn't work. I thought the "eat" section was fair. I preferred "It Starts with Food", which he recommends, since it gave more information about why certain types of food are problematic. The last chapter about people who have made tremendous strides in their health later in life is quite inspiring, and I am considering sending a copy to my parents.

I'm very glad I read this book. If you are looking for an exercise plan, this isn't the book for you, but if you are looking for something to inspire you to let go of all your excuses, this DEFINITELY is the book for you. I have read many times that the choices you make determine your health, but never has it been brought more fully to my attention. Jason has a wonderful way of wording things. Remember you have to get healthy to look and feel better, this book will help you choose a healthier path.

In his "tell-it-like-it-is", but ultimately humorous style Jason Seib delivers his main messages - women don't get big lifting weights, get rid of the scale, and, basically, get over yourself - make exercise as habitual as cleaning your teeth. I'm quite surprised this isn't more science-y because Jason is quite a science-y type of guy but here he is talking "tough love." He uses case studies of clients to make his points and genuinely cares about his clients and all those that are struggling with their health. His passion for his calling is clear. Great book!

This is probably my least favorite paleo-themed book I've read so far. Despite the author's repeated warnings not to go on crash diets just to look good, but to focus on health instead, I thought the majority of the book was too appearance and fitness-oriented. Honestly, I am interested in Paleo because I want to improve my health, first and foremost. You don't need to be overweight to feel miserable! So for my goals, I found Diane Sanfillopo's books a lot more useful, along with the Hartweg's It Starts with Food and Mark Sisson's The Primal Blueprint.

I also found the writing style a bit too dogmatic. I am sure that Paleo works great for many, but I don't think there is one perfect diet for everyone. The author also seemed a bit too cavalier in talking about people stopping their meds against their doctor's advice, even for serious conditions like MS. Wouldn't it be better to find a doctor who was more open-minded? On the plus side, this book does have some nice-looking recipes I will probably try.

This is an amazing book to help people address the real issue underlying lack of progress and results....perspective. Jason takes a no nonsense approach and truly makes one ask themselves what is important. Do you want to look good, perform well and feel great or do you want to eat the food that tastes good for a second but keeps you sick, tired and overweight? Even if your a paleo expert this book is really great reminder of why eating a paleo diet and exercising responsibly is so much more important than consuming grains, sugar, dairy and legumes in whatever processed form they come in. When you look, feel and perform well, you can truly live a full life!

I thought this was good, although it suffered from the same problem most paleo stuff does, which is that it seems to cater entirely to total type-A, athletic- (or aesthetic)-minded people who are in search of THE PERFECT BODY. There doesn't seem to be a lot of room in paleo for people who come to it for other reasons.

I did like that it tackled some of the stuff you need to get right in your mindset, and I could see rereading that section again down the road. It also had some genuinely funny bits, and some things to chew on. Mostly your typical 'how to go paleo' book though.

Again, great recipes and some solid info on why Paleo works and how to stick with it; also some helpful explanation about working out and eating pitfalls; sometimes the pep talks are inspiring, and sometimes I feel like the preached-to-choir--I skipped a lot of pages with advice and info I'm already on board with.

I've read through the bulk of this text since I got it shipped in yesterday. I think it fills a lot of gaps on the paleo lifestyle, and offers some excellent strategies for succeeding on the path toward better health. It is better written than most books of this nature, and is very relatable.

It's the "no-nonsense" or tough love version of a paleo book. Good information and some good ideas for coaches and for basics, but it probably isn't written for people already exposed to Paleo or succeeding with the lifestyle. For the right audience, this could be life-changing.

He's a great coach in the sense that he truly was motivating. It's a HUGE lifestyle change but if it gives what is promised, it is well worth it (Just like giving up gluten is NO sacrifice). It's just taking that deep breath and DO IT!

Fantastic book. Yet another Paleo book that should be required reading. And how cool is it that his gym is on the other side of town in Clackamas? I love my gym, but if I lived in that part of town, I'd be going there -- Clackamas Strength and Conditioning.

"You are the architect of your limitations"

Words that jumped off the page. This book is full of uncomfortable truths. But he wrote without judgement and I believe.

Totally worth reading if you seek a change.

Jason is BRILLIANT! So many things spark "ah-ha" moments. Bit by bit, I'm becoming healthy because of him.
