This is my RomanceInColor.com review
MINE AT LAST hits all of the right notes with an absorbing and layered story exploring the elegant understanding of the human heart. As an independent contractor, stunningly beautiful Shauna Bank’s biggest client, Cura Medical Group, needs her professional services and she finds herself back in Key West, a place that holds too many painful memories. Her plan is not to dally – get in and out quickly by being detached, methodical and disciplined. That is until she encounters the charming Dr. Dominik Coles who pushes all of her buttons – professionally and sexually.
The sensuous dedicated doctor knows his hospital needs financial backing to stay afloat, but believes Cura Medical Group is more interested in their bottom line which would mean slashing jobs and health services. Dominik is zealously committed to saving his hospital, yet cannot deny his growing attraction to the one person, Shauna, whose report may be the doom of his hospital. As the past bubbles to the surface, allegations and events will have stubbornly passionate couple seeking to hold on to their beliefs and hearts.
I enjoyed how the hero and heroine were equally headstrong and could hold their own with each other; both inside and outside the bedroom. The couple’s commitment to hold true to their professional ethics while pursuing their intimate relationship provides realistic twists and turns to the storyline. The emphasis is on the evolution of the characters as opposed to the bedroom scenes, but the love scenes are still incredibly steamy. The narrative is delivered with spunk, the secondary characters lively, especially the Pennington sisters, and the Key West setting add the ambience for a lively, entertaining, touching read.
MINE AT LAST is a wonderful addition to the Coles series. Norfleet has once again presented a storyline with characters committed to loving unconditionally. The sizzling sexual tension, bold characterization, timely subject and warm-hearted humor will delight readers.
