The Past v. The Present v. The Future

Scott Reed has everything going well in his life: a great career, money in the bank, and an imminent proposal to his girlfriend, Mariana. But when his ex-fiancée, the devastating beautiful yet dangerous Caprina Waters, makes a “surprise” recurrence in his life, she sets off a chain of events not even a psychic could predict.

Caprina Waters was on top of the world with a new show and lucrative endorsement deals. Nothing, however, could compare to what She really wanted and craved: Her precious Scotty. She is determined to get him back, no matter the cost. The only thing standing in Her way is… Mariana.

Sarah Roberts has the perfect life: a great boyfriend, a burgeoning modeling career, and supportive friends and family. But she’s bored and wants more excitement in her life. The only person who could bring the freak out of her and give Sarah what she really wants is Scott. And with the help of Caprina, Sarah’s fantasies will come true.

Mariana Harlow knows how blessed she is to have Scott as her boyfriend and Dom. Scott always pushes her to her limit, and she’s eager to prove more to Him. When she wants to explore more of the BDSM lifestyle, her simple request to set it off will set a particular person off.

Sanora has spent a lot of time, money, and energy on watching every single move Caprina has made throughout the years. She will never forget the devastation she personally felt and made it Her life’s mission to finally destroy Caprina once and for all. And with all of the major players in place, Sanora just sits back…and smiles.

With intertwined storylines, scorching love scenes, and unforgettable characters, Vera Roberts brings the powerful story of alpha hero, Scott Reed, and how his past and present ultimately affects his future.

Had a great plot and kept me reading, but this book ends with yet another cliffhanger and there hasn't been a release of another book 2+ years later. There are grammatical errors everywhere and I wish there was more proofreading involved. If it wasn't for the vast amount of errors, I probably would've given it 5 stars.
The author recently posted on her blog how she is upset about the lack of reviews and doesn't really seem inclined to release books. I am eager for the release of (hopefully) a final book that provides closure, but I am not going to hold my breath. I will read the final book if it is released, but I do not feel inclined to read anymore of her books because of her blog. I do not want to continue to invest time, money, and support on an author who randomly decides to give up and wants to threaten to stop releasing any books in uncompleted series until she gets reviews. It is petty and spiteful to do that to the people who support her by purchasing her books. Due to this, I was very close to giving 2 to 3 stars because this is the latest release with no release date in sight for the next book. Ending on a cliffhanger and reading that blog about the possibility for no conclusion to this series makes it disappointing. However, despite all this, the book is great! I just hope the series is finished eventually.

Well, Scott is hot commodity to many women. His main love Mariana, whom he wants to commit to has now taken a back step. With his ex coming back into his life and an imaginary affair in the eyes of Sarah make for a great read. There are so many twists and turns in this series where the storyline is invigorating. Does Scott love se Mariana? Does Capri a get her ex back? Where does Sarah fit into this triangle? Questions being asked, twists being formed. Love this book. Though it is written in chapters of each character where they continuously bounce from one to another. Have a clear head when reading, but well worth the time.

Not recommending...

The writing needs a lot of work: missing words, a large number of wrong words (vocabulary skills), and grammar crying out for editing. Characters actions and some plot elements are illogical. None of the books of the series (through S&M III, Vol. II) has a satisfying ending; all end in cliffhangers. I wasted too much time on this series and am not recommending it.

This was a great read. I cried, laughed, smiled, and was just emotional through out this book. I hated for it to end. I don't know how I am going to wait for the conclusion of this series. Scott is one hard core hero. He is the hero that you love to hate at times but want one of your own also. Ms. Roberts if you continue writing like this there will some very happy men in the world.
