Getting More Done is about quickly converting chaos to order in your workplace.
Busy people do not have time for cluttered writing and complexity, so this book is short and simple. It includes 10 easy-to-understand and easy-to-implement steps to help you realize more of your potential and enjoy work more.
This book is about turning things around, replacing frantic motion with constructive action, being highly focused, highly organized, highly productive, and creating a joyful and balanced lifestyle.
Too busy to impliment his ideas at the moment! Although there were good ideas most are aimed at business people who can plan their own work schedule, as a teacher I can't decide my three priorities and start number one before 10am, number two before two pm, and number three before four pm if I'm teaching 8 til 5. I then lack the mental strength to advance far in my projects no matter how well
I enjoyed the very practical techniques the author suggested for improving your workday. I am planning to implement them as part of my New Year's resolutions. Surprisingly, I don't work outside the home, but found that every tactic can be used in the work I do as a homemaker, if only in theory for a few. I've been most encouraged by his ideas at the beginning of the book to help with making the most important things the most important things and how doing those things in small chunks of time and by a certain time each day will ensure that those things don't get derailed by the smaller, less important things that tend to take up your time. I'm looking forward to implementing his ideas about following through with things and keeping things organized. A very quick read with very practical ideas for taking back your day and being more productive!
This book was probably written more for the business executive, but I was still able to find some ideas helpful. I liked the way he broke down the 24 hour day -- 8 hours for sleeping, 8 hours for working, 1 hour for personal hygiene, 2-3 hours for meals (prep time and eating), which only leaves 4 hours for everything else. No wonder I'm always behind!
Great and easy read to be more productive and less busy.
I like the book as a whole and have no dislikes with this book. This is one the first books I give all 5 stars to. It has great advice along with exercises to help you easily go step by step and learn to be more organized, productive yet relaxed. With little stress you be getting all your goals archived.
