Ryohgo Narita (成田 良悟, Narita Ryōgo) is a Japanese light novelist. He won the Gold Prize in the 9th Dengeki Novel Prize for Baccano!, which was made into a TV anime in 2007.[1] His series Durarara!! was also made into a TV anime, which began airing January 2010
There are two traits found in most of Narita's works: * Narita writes extremely fast, one volume a month if he wishes - with tons of spelling errors and missing words as a tradeoff. The editors like to leave them sometimes just for fun, though. * His work titles often have an exclamation mark at the end (i.e. Baccano!, Vamp!, Durarara!!, etc.).
tl;dr: it was great, but not quite as great as the first 3 volumes. the first half of this volume is incredible: new characters, new settings, lots of intrigue, and a compelling narrative. everything you loved about the first 3 volumes in the vehicle of the totally new type of story. and then, when everything converges, and mysteries reveal themselves,,,, it doesn't hold its momentum very well. the narrative style begins to feel less like "orchestrated pandemonium" and more like "piecewise storytelling." part of why is that we just simply didn't spend enough time with these new characters to be fully immersed in the action-packed final act. (I also just really miss my fav watermelon vamp) anyways, still a super fun read, it's absolutely worth your time, and I'm pumped for the final volume AHHH
(also!!! Durarara reference in the final chapter!!???‽‽‽ and the new characters are fucking dope as shit!!!! Romy Mars!!! Doubs Huey!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️)
