I read this as background for a WIP. It's a fairly entertaining, if not well-written, yarn about an attempt to hijack and sabotage a German freighter bound for the Fatherland from Japan during WWII. The crew and passengers are made up of various types wanted by the Nazis; i.e., folks with good reasons to not want to return to Germany; not to mention a British agent sneaking about. The writing and translation from the German is rushed and sloppy, but many of the situations are quite exciting, surprising and even hair-raising.

Not Bad. A tense sea adventure set during WWII. Made into a film with Marlon Brando and Yul Brynner.
