Book three in The Holloway Series

No man likes having his bedroom skills described as forgettable, but that's just what Lila Payne does when she runs into Spencer Thomas again. When she discovers that he'd lied about his name during their brief three-day romp a few months before, she's so angry that she pretends she doesn't remember him.

Spence regrets his deception, but not as much as he regrets that their time together didn't last longer. When she shows up in his town, looking to revitalize her uncle's mountain resort, Spence is determined to help. Maybe rescuing Lila from a hopeless renovation project will get him in her good gracesand back in her bed.

Lila has no interest in being rescued, and Spence is insulted by her stubborn rebuffs and her "faulty" memory. But when rehab work turns into an after-hours meeting, the two of them are in for a night that just might prove unforgettable…

4 Stars! A fun addition to the Holloway series!

In my opinion this is the best installment yet. While not as steamy as the first two, the story and the characters made for a pretty good read. The banter between Lila and Spence was quite enjoyable and there was plenty of it. Add Austin and Travis to the mix and it was laugh-out-loud funny. Oh my, that Travis, I can't wait to read his book...yum!

This book is light-hearted and fun, and although not a complex plot, it felt more complete than the others in the series. If you're looking for books that connect through the characters; a family, their employees and the townspeople, this is a nice little series that will give you that and more. Not too involved, nothing serious, just fun reads that will leave you smiling.

Just a quick note...the title suggests this is a holiday read...it's not! It takes place before Christmas, but has nothing to do with Christmas! This can be read anytime!

Lila comes to Holloway to take over her Uncle’s resort. Resort…is one way to describe it. Broken down, dump is another. There’s isn’t even a place for Lila to stay, let alone there being lodging for guests. But she’s determined to make this work because her life is at a low point right now. She’s divorced and after using her savings and ruining her credit to help her husband out after some gambling issues, he decides he needs a clean start and breaks it off with her. Shortly after that, she met and had a one weekend stand with a man claiming to be Austin Thomas. The pair never saw each other after their sexy weekend, but Lila never forgot. Until she gets to Holloway and meets the real Austin Thomas and his brother Spence, the man she slept with. Spence has a lot of explaining to do and jumps right in to help Lila get the resort back on its feet.

Spence was adorable. He’s super book smart, but not quite so smart in the romance department. He’s determined to help Lila out and spreads himself very thin, working with a crew on her resort during the day and catching up on his family’s business at night. Spence has some issues when it comes to trusting women. His mom up and left their family and he’s seen other couples go through the same thing, always with the women leaving and it’s hard for him to believe that that isn’t the norm. Even seeing his brother’s strong marriage doesn’t keep him from thinking that someday his sister-in-law will up and leave. To Spence it’s a certainty and it keeps him from getting close emotionally to anyone, especially Lila.

This story had some very sweet moments and I enjoyed seeing a hero be a smarty pants but still need some life guidance courtesy of his brother Austin and friend Travis. I liked getting to know this couple together and I also was glad to see Lila be willing to hear Spence out after he voices his beliefs on how relationship are only for the now, not always. She got where he was coming from, only knowing women who have left him and she wanted to stick with him and prove that it’s possible.

This is a nice romance set around Christmas time. There’s not a lot of outside angst brought into the story. The town busybodies still pop up and it’s amusing to hear what the town “names” everything incident wise that happens, be it a fight between the brothers, or Spence and Lila, the one weekend stand, coming to town. I enjoyed getting to know both Spence and Lila and for a quick, nice love story, this fits the bill.

We'll Be Home for Christmas on Books On Track

A light short story about Lila, and Austin's brother Spencer, who once shared a long weekend together when they were both feeling vulnerable, thinking that they'd never see each other again.

Fate had other plans, and Lila moves near Spencer's hometown, bringing them back in each other's lives, with misunderstandings and bruised feelings in the way of the sparks that still fly between them.

Do I know you?

They manage to work through their misunderstandings and start a relationship that is inevitably threatened by the hero's moment of intense stupidity. Thankfully, he has a brother and friend who love him enough to set him straight, and they all live happily ever after.

It was a hardship to finish this. After a few books in between, I finally nutted up and charged in. Well, skimmed through, more like.

After book #2, book #3 about Spence Holloway still didn't impress me much. It only made me realise that HKD's voice was kinda boring and a bit trivial at times. I had a really high hope for Spence's story considering that he was the uptight one. And everybody knows that those are the ones that fall the hardest.

But sadly, both Spence and Lila came off a bit whiny and annoying.

I'll start with confessing that although I have glimpsed HelenKay Dimon's name before, until now I haven't read anything by her, so this novella was my introduction to both HelenKay Dimon's writing and her Holloway series (though We'll Be Home for Christmas is Book #3 in the series), and since I enjoyed both a lot, I'll definitely check out more of her stories. :-D

We'll Be Home for Christmas is Spencer Thomas' ("that other Thomas boy") story of how he finds love with Lila. I have to say that I found the above blurb a bit misleading, as it led me to expect Spence to have several rounds of trying to convince and have Lila admit that indeed she remembered their night, but actually Lila after her initial one sentence denial never refuted it, to the contrary she alluded several times to their time spent together. But that's just a minor technicality, and other than that the novella was delightful.

I very much enjoyed the secondary characters, both Austin (Spence's brother), Travis (their friend), Darla (their high school classmate and diner owner) and Cleo (town's busybody old lady) were fun and delightful, all had a lot of heart and (some more than others) quirky personalities. Holloway was a delightful little town and this novella was a wonderful holiday story: it was heart-warming, funny, with that feel-good feeling of small towns' sense of community and helping out each other with a bit of sexiness thrown in. Spence is intense and brooding yet we see pretty soon that deep down he is a nice guy just having issues of abandonment and Lila was an equally nice and normal heroine. Their relationship, chemistry was interesting and kept me involved in the story from start to finish. Have to say, I wouldn't have minded at all if it were a full length novel. ;-)

HelenKay Dimon's writing flew smoothly, it was both natural and light (enjoyed the humour infused in the dialogues):

"Something in the lightness of Spence’s voice and the way he smiled over the clear annoyance in his voice grabbed her attention.
“You’re close to your dad.”
“Very. He grew a business while raising two rowdy boys. No one ended up in jail or rehab or under an overturned tractor.” Spence’s eyes glowed with admiration. “I’d call that a miracle.”"

yet didn't have any problem with the emotionally charged parts either.

My only and biggest problem with this story was its ending. It was improbable, rushed and unrealistic. To see a cynical, jaded and emotionally vulnerable man sprouting "happily-ever-after-forever" declarations after less than a week, and about 30 mins after he didn't even consider their relationship serious or long-term just because his brother and friend told him to, kind of ruined an otherwise greatly enjoyable story.

Verdict: We'll Be Home for Christmas was a delightful story: If you love small town romances with the local busybodies, the meddling siblings and friends, a brooding yet sexy hero, and funny/sexy writing you'll be in for a treat. I've put HelenKay Dimon on my authors-to-watch list and can only recommend if you are in the mood for a delightful holiday romance.

Lila Payne and Austin Thomas share a three days of uninterrupted passion, both seeking release from their own demons. But when the time is up, they both walk away none the wiser that their future is intertwined.

Now three months later, Lila is taking over her uncle's mountain resort only to find that it isn't quite what she expected. At the local nursery, she goes to pick up supplies and meets the true Austin Thomas. While Austin resembles the guy she met three months ago, he isn't the man. Especially since Austin is happily married. Being a small town, word travels fast that there has been a switch up and Spencer is the one to blame.

So Lila plays dumb on having met Spencer to get back at him. Unfortunately her mountain resort isn't all she thought it would be. In fact, no one can live there. To make amends, Spence starts repairing the resorts buildings on his dime through all of Lila's protests.

Throw in a town who sticks their nose into everything, this turned out to be a delightfully quirky book! There are bets place on everything in these two's relationship which left me laughing at all the names they called everything. No, I don't want to live in this town!

Through it all, Spence is harboring anger at his mother for leaving them and now can't trust a woman past a one night stand. Lila doesn't push, but instead wants to protect her heart after her already bad divorce.

What I love is not every issue is resolved. They don't run off and get married. They know there are issues they have to work through, but in the end, they are together and ready to work on their problems and grow into a loving relationship.

With a novella, you don't have the time to build the relationship to it's ultimate end. I am thankful this story didn't rush in the ends with all the lovey dovey stuff that ruins my reality of a contemporary story.

I recommend this one to anyone who wants a steamy romance story, with some drama, quirky neighbors and a family that loves one another.

We'll Be Home for Christmas by HelenKay Dimon is the third book in the Holloway series. It doesn't have to be read in order, but I would recommend it. Several characters were mentioned that I knew must surely have their own stories. My rating for this book is definitely a 3.5.

Lila Payne has come back to West Virginia to take over her uncle's resort. Little does she know that the resort is falling down around her ears and not at all what she remembers from the lovely summers she spent there as a child. As a matter of fact, after a trip to the local nursery/tree farm she's thinking nothing is as it seems.

Spencer Thomas just had his worse nightmare come to light. After a wild, unforgettable weekend spent with a woman he met at a bar, during a particular low point in his life, Spence came back home and got on with his life. Then one day she just pops up in his hometown and he has a lot of explaining to do. Lila may never forgive him for his deceit, but he's going to do everything in his power to make it happen.

"A smart man doesn't sneak up on a woman and a worthwhile one does everything he can not to scare 'em."

The story of Spence and Lila was a sweet one. Spencer wasn't sure what it was he needed in his life, but he knew he didn't believe in forever. It was nice to see him make the leap of faith needed when giving your heart. I definitely plan to go back and read the first 2 books.

I've figured out what makes HelenKay's books so frickin' awesome: She gets the argument scenes "right". (Maybe it's her background as a divorce attorney?) Not only is the flirting excellent, but even the conflict and struggle (usually the most painful parts to read) are so believable - it doesn't frustrate me to the point of discomfort. I end up believing Spence's worries are legitimate, and at the same time, I also sympathize with Lila's needs/wants. I can easily and comfortably see both sides of the coin. No one has to grovel and apologize and the H&H end up working out their problems like mature adults.

Synopsis: She goes through a horrible divorce , has a 3-night stand with Spence (who says his name is Austin - the reason for the misnomer/lie is explained later). Fast forward a few months when her uncle moves to FL and leaves her with a campground property to rebuild/maintain, and she runs into Spence again. He insists on helping her with the campground, and they bicker/flirt/rekindle feelings. They're perfect for each other!

This title is HelenKay Dimon's story from the Romancing the Holiday trilogy - perfect for any time of year actually. Christmas is more in the background, so you're not beaten in the face with yuletide cheer. I'll be returning to this one for future holiday (and non-holiday!) reads.

Listened to on audio. Narrated by Leslie Bellair.

Excellent performance by the narrator. Her pacing is perfect and I thought she had a really nice voice to listen to. I've not listened to or even heard of Leslie Bellair before, but I'd definitely seek out her work again.

I need to read some more HelenKay Dimon immediately! She's a great writer and I absolutely love her sense of humour. The dialogue is excellent. Funny, clever and it moves the story along really well.

This story is sweet, romantic and festive with a little hint of steam. My favourite combination.

I decided to start out with a quick and festive read for the first day of the month. October was a bit of a mess so I wanted to start out on solid footing. Turns out it wasn't all that festive, but I still had such a good time reading this one. My library app said it was about 100 pages even thought GoodReads AND StoryGraph both put it at almost 400. Definitely felt more like 100 pages. In these short stories we already know what I'm going to say: it wasn't long enough. I wish we had more angst, more longing, and, oddly, more sex. That's not something that I--an asexual reader--normally say about romance novels, but this one was weird because it showed how much attraction, fire, chemistry these characters had before they finally gave in. But then the scene of them actually giving in to their desires was a little...lackluster. It's like the author wanted to close the bedroom door here but isn't known for that so she kept the door ajar. It was odd for me. Plus not getting the holiday vibes I was going for on Day 1 of Christmas? A little disappointing. I still enjoyed this one more than the first book in this series so it's definitely a step in the right direction.

I really enjoyed this last book (to my knowledge) in the Holloway series. It was entertaining to see the wrong name thing unraveled. I think Lila's reaction to then seeing Spencer again was fantastic. In this book, Lila has come to town to take over her uncle's "resort." Finding it in a state of disrepair, she isn't sure what she's going to do, but she'll make it work. Spencer, incensed by Lila pretending not to know him, arrives at the "resort" not long after Lila and quickly decides he will be helping her bring the place back to life, though he has no idea why he's doing it. It turns out their chemistry at the hotel was no fluke and the two, despite some road bumps and stupidity on Spence's part, find their HEA. The book has no cliffhanger. Having only read the first book in the Holloway series (It's Not Christmas Without You) in the anthology Holiday Kisses, I am definitely interested in reading book two of the series.

I wasn't overly impressed by the narration. The range of the narrator's voice was limited and made it difficult to tell the difference between male and female voices.

This was a really well done novella. Loved the characters and the world building done quickly and effortlessly. Wished it was longer only because I was enjoying it so much. The ending was a bit rushed but that makes sense in a novella.

Lila and Spence had a three day fling several months ago when they met at a hotel, their chemistry was scorching but neither of them were looking for anything permanent so they were happy to walk in opposite directions to go back to their normal lives. Lila has just moved across the country to start over again after being badly betrayed by her ex-husband, the only family she has left is her elderly uncle who has recently retired to Florida leaving her in charge of rebuilding his holiday resort but she gets more than she bargained for when she realises just how run down the resort really is. Spence may not be looking for a relationship but he isn't the kind of guy who can let anyone struggle on their own so he jumps at the chance of helping Lila settle into her new town, besides he owes her an apology for the lies he told when they first met and he still hasn't forgotten how hot they were together.

We'll be Home for Christmas is actually the third story in HelenKay Dimon's Holloway series but it was my first book by this author and it worked fine as a stand alone. I enjoyed it so much that I'm fully intending to check out the rest of the series though, it has that perfect small town setting with a bunch of great characters and I laughed at the way they were all happy to meddle in Spence's love life. I loved Spence and Lila but I also liked Spence's brother Austin and I really want to get to know some of the other town members better. Lila is a strong character, she is brave and determined and although she has been through hell she is going to do whatever it takes to make the most of her new start. She has never really had anyone to rely on so she is shocked when Spence and the other members of the town come to her aid and expect nothing in return. Spence might not be the kind of guy who believes in happy ever afters but he is still a caring and protective guy who looks out for the people around him. He was constantly helping people but most of the time he did it in secret and he never expected praise or thanks for his help. I felt that Spence and Lila made a great couple, they have fantastic chemistry but they also had a genuine connection and both really cared for each other. I'd recommend this story to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance with a small town setting and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

When Lila Payne arrives in Holloway to take over her uncle's resort, she has more than a few surprises waiting for her. One of the biggest is that the "resort" is falling down and isn't habitable. The other? Spencer Thomas, the man she spent three nights with who lied about his name. Spencer is part owner of the local nursery and is determined to do the "neighborly" thing by helping her fix up the resort.

Spencer doesn't believe in romantic happily ever afters but he's more than happy to have Lila in his bed for as long as she'll stay. After a rocky start, Spencer begins to show Lila the man he is behind the bossiness. She wants a future with him but can't force him to believe in love. That's something Spence, with a little help from his family, will have to learn on his own.

I'm usually all about Ms. Dimon's heroes and Spencer was great but this story was all about Lila for me. She's coming off a bad marriage and while her self-confidence is shaken, she still stands up for what she deserves and doesn't let Spence get away with anything. The banter between the two, as well as other members of the small town, had me laughing out loud more than once. This sweet and sometimes snarky holiday romance was everything I was hoping for.

WE'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS can be purchased by itself or in the Romancing the Holiday anthology from Carina Press.

“Oh, man. Please tell me you aren’t hiding a wife and ten kids or something. Because, honestly, I will hit you with a rock and bury your body in the woods if you made me the other woman in your marriage.”

His eyes widened. “That’s the third threat of violence in ten minutes.”

It was her turn to hold up a finger. “Put one woman on my jury and I walk.”

He blinked a few times. “It’s a little disturbing how easily these attack plans come to your head.”

I discovered this novella through the DBSA podcast where Jane and Sarah discussed favorite Holiday stories. Listening to Sarah talk about the premise of this story I just couldn't help but search for it. I was interested in the Anthology ("Romancing the Holiday") but was unable to locate a copy of it for easy access. Instead I took some of my book budget to buy the novella for my kindle. I think it was a good investment and I plan on re-reading it next Christmas.

So the premise is built on this three-night stand where Spence told Lila his brother's name. He figured he'd never see her again but of course Romance Land has a different idea. A few weeks later Lila comes to Holloway to run her uncle's campground (resort?). Immediately she realizes she's been lied to so she gets back at Spence by saying she doesn't remember him.

I loved the concept so much but I got lost in it. There was never a good reason presented for Spence's lie other than he didn't want to be himself. There was no reason for choosing his brother's name or why he bothered since Lila didn't know she would see him again. Even though she questions his motives the entire time, she accepts this crappy explanation.

While the premise is what drew me into this story, it quickly morphed into a typical small town romance. The town accepted her into their society with no questions and played matchmaker constantly. The wonderful premise which could have been a running thing throughout the story was abandoned 15-20% in and it left me wondering what the point of it was. Lila and Spence could have just had a fling and then run into each other. Simple, simple storyline.

I would recommend this story for a nice holiday novella and a general feel-good story.

We’ll Be Home for Christmas is the third book in the Holloway series. Hopefully, it’s not the last book. It’s NOT a requirement that you have to have read the other two books, but I recommend that you do, because I really like them.

This is FINALLY Spence’s chance at love, provided he doesn’t let the idiot that’s inside of him come out and stay too long. Spencer is the oldest of the two Thomas brothers and the Thomas Nurseries friends featured in the series.

Since I have read the other two books in the series, I already liked Spence, but apparently I didn't actually know him. Yes, Spence is super uber smart, but he doesn't know anything about romance or women. Spence actually met Lila at a hotel bar one night when he was feeling lonely and pretty low after he realized that his brother Austin and friend Mitch found love and were actually happy. Little did Spence know that meeting Lila would change him. Lila is the only woman who has creeped into his mind and will not leave.

Lila, like Spence, isn't looking for love. She's been there and done that. She has no money, no job, no place to stay and a bad reputation to prove it. But like Spence, Lila has met her match. Lila is a pistol who doesn't take the crap Spence spews and is VERY good at calling him out. She actually sees through all the smoke-screen to the person he truly is.

Of the three books in the series, this is by far my favorite. I laughed the whole way through. The interaction and dialogue between Spence and Lila is great...I LOVED reading/watching “The Fall of Spencer Thomas”.

Rating: 4 ½ (I really liked it.)

I really liked We'll Be Home for Christmas, by HelenKay Dimon. I wasn't a giant fan of Spence in the first two books so I have to admit the premise of this one appealed to me. I kind of loved that Lila denied remembering Spencer, as though their 3 day affair left no impression on her. I hated that he lied to her about who he really was, but I liked how Dimon resolved his reasons later in the story. He really was a much deeper character than I gave him credit for, and I enjoyed getting to see his more endearing side. I liked the idea of fixing up the campground and it served as a great backdrop for Spence and Lila to build on their connection. I really liked that Lila stayed at Spence’s dad’s house while he was away. It kept her close by without the cliché of forcing Spence and her to cohabitate once it was determined the campground conditions were unliveable. Getting to know Lila was great and I really liked her as a character. She was honest and open once she accepted what happened between her and Spence and she was a good match for his straightforwardness and easy going nature. I loved how playful the often were with one another. I also really liked that she didn’t use her divorce as an excuse and always tried to look at things from her own positive perspective. The disagreement they had over what they meant to one another felt real, not at all like manufactured drama, and I liked how it drove Spence to figure out his own heart. Overall this was a really sweet, genuine story with good pacing, great characters and some delicious heat.

This is the third book in the Holloway series by HelenKay Dimon and I adored it. I read the first two books in the Holloway series recently and was excited to get to read Spencer’s story since he is the wild womanizer of the bunch. Always fun to see how a woman tames that. Spencer and Lila met up at a hotel for a 3-night stand months ago. They both were in a bad situation and a little down on their luck. They never thought they would see each other again but the memory of those days they shared with each other continued to haunt them. Now Lila is back in the area and Spencer sees her for the first time. Boy are they both caught off guard. It takes a little while but they both realize that the reason they haven’t forgotten the days they spent together in the past are because they shared more than a physical connection. I am beginning to love HelenKay Dimon’s contemporary romance books. Ms. Dimon writes very fun, romantic, witty stories. I love the small town gossip mill that goes on in Holloway as another obstacle the characters have to overcome. In this story, I loved watching Travis, a friend and employee of Spencer, give advice on how to handle women. Most of the time in books none of the guys quite get women, but Travis sure seems to understand. I am looking forward to this story next.

This little Christmas stories checked a lot of boxes for me. I loved the characters and the plot was lovely. There was no real suspense for me as it was blatantly obvious what was going to happen from the offset but I did enjoy reading their tale! It wasn’t quite as sexy as I had hoped (I kept reading about this fab sex they’d had but it was never really recreated!) but it was very heart-warming!

Spence has abandonment issues. Like most men in Romance with similar problems, he uses this to sleep with loads of un-named women and leave them. Yes, pity him (!). He never wanted to put his heart on the line so he didn’t try to. Of course, that doesn’t go to plan for him in this tale! I liked Lila. I liked that she called him on douchery, I liked that she went for what she wanted and I liked that she thought enough of herself not to settle. She made this story for me. The tale of how close they got whilst working in together was a page-turner for me ‘cos I love the moment they finally get a clue in these tropes!

This short Christmas tale is worth a purchase. It’s fun, flirty and gives you that lovely warm feeling you get when you read a book that is so damn nice. Lovely.

We'll Be Home For Christmas by Helen Kay Dimon
Lila Payne run the Mountain View resort/campground and it's in sad need of repair. It's located near Holloway, WV. The local nursery
is part owned by Austin and Spencer Thomas. Problem is when she was with Austin for 3 nights before she was to head up the resort, it wasn't really Austin she was with.
Austin is a very happily married man to Carrie. The town is small and she will be reaming them out if she finds out why Spencer had used his name with Lila. He can't even imagine that she's in town. He thought he'd never see her again.
It's the holiday season and they run the local nursery as Austin is a arborist and has many degrees.
Spence offers his help to fix up the cabins as a gesture of a neighborly thing to do and she accepts with no strings attached=after he apologized.
Females in town told her what a great catch he'd be and that the betting pool was up already as to when they'd marry.
Without giving too much away I love the renovations that take place and the hot steamy sex. Great storyline and glad Spence has his own book. Have loved all the men and their live stories..

My Review:
Rating: A
This is the third year that I have LOVED the holiday story and getting to visit this family from HelenKay Dimon's imagination. I truly love these characters. They have a great family dynamic...a bunch of guys who love to give each other a hard time and I LOVE that! Seriously, this series from HK Dimon fall under the heading of some of my favorite contemporary romance reading of the year!

This book was no exception. I liked the history between Spence and Lila...they had 3 days and never planned to see each other again. It was a chance thing. They had no idea that they had any connection at all, until Lila moved to this small town of 950 people where EVERY ONE is in everyone else's business.

Spence, as a character/hero, was fabulous. He is a caretaker and cannot stand the idea of Lila alone trying to rebuild her Uncle's resort/campground so he comes in and takes over. Totally an alpha move, but he has such a sweet heart, even when he's being an idiot.

My favorite scenes in the book were with Travis...maybe he's our hero for next year's book??? *please*

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

I am starting to love HelenKay Dimon work. I have been able to read a handful of her books so far and have yet to be disappointed. This is the 3rd novella in a series and oh so yummy good. Spence doesn't take relationships seriously but he isn't used to being the one walked away from and told sex with him was no big deal. When he meets Lila Payne at a hotel and they hit it off in bed for three days both think they'll never see each other again but both also regret that they won't a little too. Turns out never isn't that long when Lila shows up in Spence's work world and she finds out he's not who he said he was. Hurt she lashes out at him with words. For some reason he can't let it go once she accepts his apology. He wants to help her and perhaps finally find that he DOES so relationships. Loved this one. Definitely 5 out of 5 stars for me. Read as a stand alone or better yet buy the whole series.

**Side note, HelenKay is a personal friend so take this review however you want to**

Another fun, quick, sexy read from HelenKay Dimon in her Halloway series. Technically you don’t need to have read the previous two books to enjoy this story but with the reoccurring characters it does make it more enjoyable. Lila and Spence met at a hotel and had a hot three night stand but when they meet again Lila realizes that Spence lied to her. She’s reluctant to give him another chance even though she can still feel the spark between them. I loved the relationship development between Lila and Spence. They had an intense connection when they initially met but did not get a chance to build on it so when they meet up again they work to build the emotions to go with the physical. I would have loved a little more flashback to their smexy times initially spent together but that’s a personal preference. Other than that, great read and I’m excited for the next book in the series!

We'll be home for Christmas - (Lila and Spencer)

No man likes having his bedroom skills described as forgettable, but that's just what Lila Payne does when she runs into Spencer Thomas again. When she discovers that he'd lied about his name during their brief three-day romp a few months before, she's so angry that she pretends she doesn't remember him.

Spence regrets his deception, but not as much as he regrets that their time together didn't last longer. When she shows up in his town, looking to revitalize her uncle's mountain resort, Spence is determined to help. Maybe rescuing Lila from a hopeless renovation project will get him in her good graces—and back in her bed.

Lila has no interest in being rescued, and Spence is insulted by her stubborn rebuffs and her "faulty" memory. But when rehab work turns into an after-hours meeting, the two of them are in for a night that just might prove unforgettable…

3.5

Having read only one other HelenKay Dimon book, I have enjoyed reading this one for sure. The story begins in least possible way, but I guess this is what made the story so interesting. There is a lot of passion, quirky talk. The novella is heart-warming with a sense of a small town community mixed with a little bit of sexiness. What is more, Dimont introduces Travis as a know-it-all-guy when it comes to women, even having him giving advice to Spencer, and now, it just makes me wonder if he indeed will know it all when it comes to his story. Ha. It'll be fun! Although I did not care for the rushed ending to the story, I still find it quite likeable and nice read for the romance-starved readers.

This was a fun novella of two people who are looking for something more out of life. A chance encounter at a hotel, three blissful days together only to part ways. But funny thing about fate when you least expect it she throws you a curve ball.

Since this is a novella. I will just say that I loved this story and would suggest you pick up a copy.
Also this novella can be found in the Romancing the Holiday’s Anthology with 2 other wonderful Christmas novella’s

HelenKay Dimon shares another Holloway Romance with We'll Be Home for Christmas. This time Spence gets himself in over his head with a three-night stand that has turned into something more, and Lila Payne is looking for a place to call home and it might just be with Spence. For two people who never thought they would see each other again, after three wild nights in a hotel room, the chemistry between them was electric, and the banter was hysterical. I truly enjoyed this novella and hope for many more to come from HelenKay.
