This short but sweet eBook was inspired by an indie author desperate for help. Marianne asked: “The self-published author community is really supportive of each other, but how do we break beyond it and promote to NEW readers?”.

She wasn't alone in wanting to find new readers. It seems that authors are thirsty for new and unique marketing ideas, and having them curated all in one place enables authors to cut through the noise and take advice for a tried and trusted source.

“Laura Pepper Wu is an author’s best friend! With her assistance and always-friendly advice, I was able to laser-focus the platform for my novels, achieve maximum visibility for my books, and plan for my future as a full-time author."
- Author Lauren Clark

Author Laura Pepper Wu poured onto paper the strategies and ideas she uses to coach self-published authors for over three years, along with actionable tips on how to use them. 77 Ways is designed to inform, inspire and entertain.

“Laura is one of the most effective and professional people I’ve ever worked with. Her marketing plan and eBook strategy for our book was beyond my wildest dreams."

As a professional writer I wondered how many of these tips would be "old news" ... the answer is that this old dog has learned a lot of new tricks!

This was a remarkably informative and fast read, slowed down only by the author's extremely helpful inclusion of links to allow the reader to act immediately on the advice given. I found at least half a dozen things I could do right away. I'll do several more over the next few weeks and months.

The writing is clear and accessible, and I would recommend this book to anyone wishing to approach their writing in a professional, businesslike way.

I've been researching ways to build my following so that when I publish a book I'll be ready. I read this book figuring I'd find a few ways to find potential readers that I hadn't heard before. While there are some things that I knew, like using social media, there were also ways that were very out-of-the-box ideas focused on marketing toward READERS and not just other WRITERS. That is something that makes this book stand out for me as a go-to resource.

77 Ways To Find New Readers, produced by Laura Pepper Wu of 30 Day Books com is a small pamphlet created to answer the typical author’s concerns on how to find and target new readers (and not just fellow authors).

I quickly read this book in one sitting, whilst awaiting a dental appointment. The tie-in of expected pain (dentally) and in my future adventures in publishing seemed compatible, although I felt slightly a charleton without as yet having an actual book ready to try out some of the listed approaches in 77 Ways. But some of the tips in this book should be considered long before publication anyway.

The lists take us through everything from social media, email lists (really must start mine early), branding, blogging, what we should have on author pages, and on our press pages. But firstly and importantly, 77 Ways gives good reasons for also having a paperback edition of your book, to allow marketing locally, away from the Internet, something self-published authors can forget nowadays with the ease of ebook creation and internet marketing.

Many of the tips are linked through to articles on Pepper Wu’s website, another form of legitimate marketing. These articles are extremely helpful, but as I read the ebook offline (in the dental office, remember?) I couldn’t access them initially, so I possibly would have liked to have that information upfront in the ebook itself.

It’s a quick read, but full of timely advice, and one that you can duck and dive, and select from to fit your needs.
