Rate this book
Life can change in an instant For good or for bad Running a Customs Service contraband enforcement boat Special Agent Michael Callaway has racked up an enviable amount of drug boat interceptions between the Bahamas and Florida coastlines. Until the night Callaway discovers an inbound boat carrying a large amount of cocaine and finds his career in jeopardy. An unexpected financial windfall allows him to quit his job-rather than be fired, buy an old wooden hulled shrimp boat and cruise Bahamian waters looking to fish and drink beer. For a short time But while cruising in the crystal clear Bahamian waters, Callaway catches sight of a black go fast boat, part of the private Navy of drug lord Anton Drake, patrolling around his private island called Golgotha. Callaway knows that no one can figure out how Drake moves drugs on and off this island. A sea chase and the discovery that the woman he loves is working undercover on the guarded island trying to solve the mystery of Drake's smuggling success, arouses Callaway's protective instincts. Or forever Callaway knows that once in a while you get a second chance, and when you do, you had better not mess it up. He goes rogue and engages the powerful drug lord in a battle on and under the sea. To save the woman he loves, Callaway uses all his instincts and resources to discover the method that leaves every investigative report about how Drake smuggles his drugs ending with the same words, "by unknown means."

Good book

I did enjoy reading the book. I feel like it got too wordy re: the technical jargon and I had already thought that the Pegasus would end up “saving the day” way in the beginning so it was a bit predictable. This sounds harsh but I read A LOT! As previously stated, the books story was good, I enjoyed the characters and read in 2 days.

I really enjoyed reading By Unknown Means. It's a fast paced thriller about an ex US Customs Agent who gets caught up with a ruthless drug lord while on a Bahamian fish trip! Great read for suspense lovers - it has lots of action and suspense! Looking forward to reading book 2 in the series!

Free Kindle download, one I thought Vernon might enjoy hearing while we're driving back and forth to Chattanooga.

Exciting but......

Well written pot boiler but as usual with serials you get the feeling that the next chapter won't draw things to a close any quicker than a long comic book series. Enough - I'm going back to authors that can tell a good story and FINISH IT in one book.

Pretty accurate smuggling interdiction info, if a bit dated. A good story, and I'm looking forward ft o the sequel.
