With a tight and clever writing style, Lacey Wolfe has transported a city girl into the countryside, and livened up this small mountain town. It’s not a stretch to imagine the friendliness of the people, and Ava’s personal discomfort with trust, not after her abusive past is revealed. While Seth’s interest, as both the Sheriff and a man are easy to relate to. While no one is comfortable with the thought that an “adult store” is taking up residence on Main Street, his overt hostility to Ava once he hears that she is the new businesswoman with a planned lingerie shop that also sells adult toys is a bit overdone.
Yes, all of that conflict is settled when, as must happen with romance, their desires for each other overcome their discomfort of the situation, and the danger faced when Ava’s past returns to haunt.
A perfectly fun book, great for an escape read; with touches of more serious elements of abusive and controlling boyfriends. Somewhat predictable, which is in no way a negative for a romance read, this book is the first in several I am sure to read of this author’s work when I want to escape the mundane and have a happy ending.
I received an eBook copy from the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.
