I picked this up on recommendation and because (if I'm being honest) it was free on Amazon when I went to check it out. I was so pleasantly surprised by how cute this was, and I think this was the book God's giving me a good freebie after I've paid to read so much crap lately.

The story is about Emma, a real psychic masquerading as a pet psychic (for fear of being ostracized) and Jake, a guy who needs help but doesn't want it from her because he thinks she's a con artist. I really liked how the story unfolded and you didn't quite know what was really going on.

There was exactly enough romance and suspense to keep me engaged and I thought both the characters were charming and had me rooting for their love story. Totally recommend for a fun little read.

A fairly average read. The plot was pretty predictable but considering it's a standalone i think that's okay. The murder mystery in this story was all tied together nicely.i enjoyed the uniqueness of this read and it's cute plot idea of a psychic pet reader. Just imagine how many "treats" she gets sent to her mind from her job. The only thing i didn't like so much in this book was the romance was a bit rushed. But once again it's a standalone novel and it can be hard to pace out a relationship in so few pages. Overall i enjoyed it and would recommend it to others looking for a lighter read.

Trigger Warnings

I really enjoyed this book. Emma, as an empath/telepath is an interesting character and Jake is a likable guy who you root for from the beginning. Emma is hiding out in Maine working her psychic abilities only on animals. She has had several bad experiences after people found her gift works on humans too. Jake is a hardworking guy supporting his extended family by running the family business. When he has dinner with a co-worker, she is murdered, and he can't remember anything about what happened he becomes the only suspect. Although I figured out who had committed the murder early on the question became how was Jake going to clear his name and how could Emma help. Emma and Jake make a great couple although their relationship developed at the speed of light. In the story I found that more unbelievable than Emma's gift. I am looking foward to the next story which is about Jake's brother, Daniel, who has recently awaken from a 10 month coma following an auto accident.

OK---Just finished the book. That was intense. This was a really good thriller. I love paranormal/psychic stories. This one I couldn't put down. You'll want to read how Emma and Jake get through this...I want to know what happens next.

I got this as a freebie on amazon last year and just now finally read it. It was so very good! The romance takes a back burner to the mystery of the story and the paranormal elements to the story are very realistic. Highly recommend!!!

Pet psychic finds love

I really enjoyed reading this pet psychic mystery. The family interactions, the dogs, the uncaring cope, the corporate espionage, and the energy work made for a fun read.
