Chacko Thomas has written a book about his live during his time in serving with Operation Mobilisation. The story is about a man who is dedicated in following God. This brought him around the globe. I had the privilege to serve for 2 years on the Logos II while Chacko was the director. From that day he has been an example of my life about how leadership is done. The book is interesting and challenging because it shows what God can do true a man who is willing to serve and who says, Here am I Lord, send me!

This book tells of the author's faith journey and his work with mission organisation OM, including several stints on the OM ships, travelling the world. It took me a while to get into the story because of its unusual format - rather than simply dividing the book into chapters, each chapter is divided into sections which start with a word or phrase in bold, related to the information contained in that section. But once I'd got used to the layout, I started to enjoy Thomas' range of anecdotes from comic and light-hearted to serious and thought-provoking. The strength and depth of his faith really shines through his words. The latter part of the book tells of the illness and eventual death of Chacko and Radha's 17-year-old son, Sunil. I found it particularly moving to read of the way in which the whole family were sustained and comforted by their faith during this time.

This is the autobiography of a devout Christian who has spent most of his life in some form of Christian ministry, so it is most likely to appeal to those who share the author's faith, but it could also be read by those who are interested to learn about the beliefs of others.

Interesting overview of life in OM and onboard their ships, as well as the writer's own spiritual life. Very poignant chapter at the end on the death of his son.
