Each volume of Rav Dessler's mussar classic, Strive for Truth (Michtav M'Eliyahu in its original Hebrew form), gets progressively more difficult. At times, I struggled with the text and found myself re-reading certain passages repeatedly. However, I've learned priceless lessons from these essays. I will be re-reading them again (yes, even after re-reading them during my first time through!) in order to internalize many of those lessons. Recommended for readers with a sound basic understanding of Jewish texts and worldview (the Torah, Prophets, and Writings; daily prayerbook; and Ethics of the Fathers, in particular) and interested in character development.
