The Return of the Phantom: Le Couer Loyal

Rate this book
The tale of the Phantom of the Opera did not end in the labyrinth beneath a Paris theater. A wealth of secrets lay in the shadows of the convoluted tunnels. There the story continued to unfold . . . love and madness, a painful triumph over the damage of ridicule and cursed rejection. A determined soul, one capable of enduring a dark and unholy journey, managed to find its way back into the arms of the mate Destiny had ordained for it.

Imagine the woman discovering, almost too late, the identity of her true love, a man she'd let slip through her fingers. Would she not ignore pride and search out a way to get him back? Yes! Christine Daae clawed a path to Erik, and he in turn mastered a demented part of himself in order to affect a degree of sanity and possess her. But were these two sets of glorious arms enough to hold a love spawned in hellish mystery?

Let us see, brave soul, let us see.

I learned that it is one hellacious experience to write a book about the Phantom of the Opera. It took diligent researching and real courage to describe humans loving and hating...had to dig deep within myself to get there. I thought my sister would hate the story. She loves it and has turned into my biggest fan and supporter while I write the next book in the series. I gave my work such high marks because I wrote the story I wanted to read and no one else was writing. This book is steamy and not for anyone but adults. If you decide to read it, I thank you ahead of time and recommend you buckle up...it's quite a ride.

I love anything Phantom related which is why I bought this book.

The story is intriguing, and a lot is happening. Too much, in my opinion. It also felt a little off to me to put the characters of Phantom in this, it felt too alien.

So as a book itself? Great! As a Phantom book, not my cup of tea.
