Heidi Klum's Body of Knowledge: 8 Rules of Model Behavior

Rate this book
Heidi Klum is one of the most famous supermodels in the world, but it took more than beauty to get there. At nineteen, she hopped a plane to the United States, where she tirelessly (and always optimistically) posed, strutted, networked, and laughed her way to the top. Heidi learned a lot on the road to becoming a cultural icon—and fortunately she took notes along the way.

In this funny, dishy, and highly practical book, Heidi shares the secrets behind her success and shows how anyone can achieve their goals in work, love, and life:

1. You Have to Want It, Baby. Pursue success long after any sane person would have given up.

2. Sell It! Convince others you have the chops to get what you want.

3. Put Your Best Face Forward. Make others see you as you want to be seen.

4. Make a Fashion Statement. Find your own unique style.

5. Shape It, Be It. Create a strong, healthy body.

6. Become the Fantasy. Tap into your seductive side.

7. Be a Jet-Setter. Broaden your horizons by traveling the world.

8. Have a Blast While It Lasts. None of the other seven rules means anything if you’re not having fun while you’re following them.

This informative read is full of gorgeous photos from the top professional photographers in the fashion industry, personal pictures from Heidi’s own scrapbooks, behind-the-scenes stories about the modeling world, and tons of helpful hints for achieving success. With her refreshing candor and effervescent style, Heidi offers dead-on advice that will resonate with anyone who has ever wanted more out of life.

Heidi Klum is a German-American model, television host, producer, and businesswoman. She appeared on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Magazine Issue in 1998 and was the first German model to become a Victoria's Secret Angel.
Following a successful modeling career, Klum became the host and a judge of Germany's Next Topmodel and the reality show Project Runway, which earned her an Emmy nomination in 2008 and a win in 2013 for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program (shared with co-host Tim Gunn). Klum has been nominated for six Emmy Awards. She has worked as a spokesmodel for Dannon and H&M and has appeared in numerous commercials for McDonald's, Volkswagen and others. In 2009, Klum became Barbie's official ambassador on Barbie's 50th anniversary. As an occasional actress, she had supporting roles in movies including Blow Dry (2001) and Ella Enchanted (2004), and made cameo appearances in The Devil Wears Prada (2006), Perfect Stranger (2007) and Ocean's 8 (2018). She has also made guest appearances on TV shows including Sex and the City, How I Met Your Mother, Desperate Housewives and Parks and Recreation. From 2013, with the exception of 2019, Klum has been a judge on NBC reality show America's Got Talent.
In May 2011, Forbes Magazine estimated Klum's total earnings for that year as US$20 million. She was ranked second on Forbes' list of the "World's Top-Earning Models". Forbes noted that since ending her 13-year run as a Victoria's Secret Angel, Klum has become more of a businesswoman than a model. In 2008, she became an American citizen while maintaining her native German citizenship.

I love Heidi Klum. How could you not? She's cute, and seems friendly and down to earth. I've been watching Project Runway a lot recently and decided to look up if she had a book out, and she did. It's part biography and part self help, but a fun read with lots of pictures. When a celeb writes a book about themselves, I love to see lots of photos, because one of the reasons why I like them is because I think they are attractive looking and want to see if they reveal any secrets on how they stay fit and cute. So if you like Heidi Klum or want a sneak peak inside the life of a model, then this would be a good book for you to read, so check it out.

are you kidding? the only edition on bookreads is the german version?

obviously i read it in german. obviously it was great, with many useful insights into how to live life as a successful business woman in this day and age, some of which i would disagree with (because i'm not a model with boys throwing themselves at me at all times of the day and night) -- but good advise from a strong and beautiful person who puts no limits on her possibilities. awesome. i had some questions, and she answered them (!)

Really fun book to read- tons of great pictures and good messages. I also like how this was written right before Heidi met Seal- so its all about her life pre-2nd marriage and tons of babies. You learn how she got to be where she is, life lessons she would like to pass on, and some of her favorite life experiences. And it's a very quick read as well.

The cover of this book looks like a magazine and belies the interior, which consists of mostly photographs with a few breezy stories and advice columns thrown in. There is nothing substantial here, just an enjoyable and quick read.

A revealing book with lots of photos you might not see anywhere else. You get to learn Heidi's motto and get advice from lots of her famous friends.

I recently got to meet Heidi in person, and I can say she's as beautiful, gracious and generous as she is in this book.
