By knowing the characters from the first book already, you can jump right into a new mystery to solve. Just one big murder this time, but with a whole lot of baggage from the past. A cold case needs to be solved as well. I do appreciate that we get a little more character exploration of Ellen and Jozef. Even if it is sometimes very frustrating how the investigation goes. I'm not sure I would have been so patient as Ellen was, if I were faced with a information withholding mentor. But alas, I am not Ellen.
I can safely go on to the next book in the series.
