According to St. Therese of the Child Jesus. A Novena 9 Days of Instructions and Prayers. St. Therese suffered much, yet she was truly happy. Here in 27 brief but powerful instructions (3 each for a novena of 9 days) Bishop Noser sets forth St. Therese's "secrets" for dealing with sufferings of body, heart and soul. Even though a person may feel bad, and even though a person is still plagued by faults and failings, St. Therese shows how to live each moment such that one's life is immensely fruitful for eternity and nothing will be wasted. Joy in Suffering shows how the Catholic Faith possesses the key to solid peace and joy, even in the most painful situations of life. Helps you transform your sufferings into joy!!
A delightful little book filled with teachings of St. Therese on union with God's will and finding joy in all of the suffering of life.
Laid out in the form of a novena, with 3 little meditations a day over 9 days. This book is a reprint of a classic from the 1950's. Definitely it is food for thought. Therese was wise beyond her years.
Incredible novena. With a smile, St. Therese accepted everything that the Lord willed, knowing it could all be used to conform her to Christ. She bore witness to charity in a miraculous way.
This was hard to read at first, but I will definitely read this one again. St. Therese is forever a beautiful soul who can teach me how to offer my little sufferings to Jesus. I already have a tracker set up in my bullet journal to pray another novena.
October - this novena was prayed again for a friend. “When we yield to discouragement or despair, it is usually because we think too much about the past and the future.” St. Therese of the Child Jesus
I read this in junior high and I still think about it to this day. It absolutely changed my life. This little book completely reframed my attitude towards suffering and set me on a journey to find joy in every aspect of my life. I could not recommend more.
