First Comes the Wind

Rate this book
Emotionally spent, Lundy sank down in the shadow of a large rock. He had to go back over the years and find a way to ease the pain. But he found himself only rekindling the anger he experienced when his father had so thoughtlessly ripped him away from the warm love of his grandmother Nora.

Lundy saw himself a piece of debris cast ashore by the hurricane winds of passion and hate. He was both a victim and a prisoner. Emotions raged like a storm within his soul.

He could never forgive his father's second wife! She had caused his separation from Nora! He didn't gain anything when his father married that woman - a manipulative society queen. Why should he forgive someone who treated him like trash? Everything he valued had been lost because of her!

But two proverbs Lundy had heard from a wise Indian friend echoed in his mind.

"Passion can live with hate; love can live only with forgiveness."

"Only as you deal with the past can you live in the present and then move into the future."

Could he ever tame the storm or rage within him?

Would he be able to once again experience the warmth of Nora's love?

What did the future hold for him? Was there anything meaningful in life?

Sincerely meant, but saccharine. From my mom’s bookshelf.
