This is the latest in Mick Mercer's reports on the international Goth scene. In 21st Century Goth, Mercer has broadened his reporting beyond America, Britain, France, Germany, Holland, Canada, and Australia to include the current scene in Japan and other parts of Asia, as well as South America. In this, his third Goth bible, Mercer looks at the bands, clothes, clubs, people, sites, fanzines, and web rings, as well as the changing atmosphere. If you're new to the Goth world, start here. If you've been here before, 21st Century Goth is the update you've been waiting for.
Mick Mercer is a journalist and author best known for his photos and reviews of the goth, punk, and indie music scenes. He publishes a monthly online magazine called The Mick. He also photographed the band Tragic Venus both in the UK and Europe.
If you were, or indeed are into Goth, you may find it interesting. It is basically a listing of Goth interest Internet sites, with small intro's, split into various categories, bands, people, locations etc. As this was printed in 2002 and both the Internet and Goth scene constantly changes and evolves, much may be out of date
Meh. Decent resource list, but that is all it is. I was hoping for an in depth (or at least SOME) discussion about being Goth in the 21st century, and not just "here's a list of bands and websites I've found. Have at it."
