"روت لي الأيّام" مجموعة قصص طالعة من الواقع، ولكنّ قلم "امِلي نصر الله" أبدعها بِرهانة فنيّة وحسّ إنسانيّ عميق، فارتدت طابع الشمول الإنسانيّ رغم خصوصيّتها المميّزة.
وفي هذه المجموعة، جديد يضاف إلى تجديد سابق في الكتابة القصصيّة، فلقد مزجت الكاتبة بين الذات والموضوع، دون الساس بإستقلاليّة الموضوع، وجعلت اللغة تتحدّ به وتنصهر فيه، كما تنصهر المعادن الثمينة، فتنعكس عليها أضواء الحياة إنعكاس حقيقة لا إنعكاس تصنّع.

She graduated from the Beirut College for Women (now the Lebanese American University) with an associate degree in arts in 1956. Two years later, she obtained a BA in education and literature from the American University of Beirut. She published her first novel "Birds of September" in 1962; the book was instantly acclaimed, and won three Arabic literary prizes. "Flight Against Time" was Nasrallah's first novel to be translated into English, published by the Canada-based Ragweed Press. Nasrallah became a prolific writer, publishing many novels, children's stories, and short story collections, touching on themes such as family, village life, war, emigration, and women's rights. The latter was a subject she has maintained support for throughout her life.

رواية رائعة بقلم امرأة عرفت معنى الحرية، وأرادت ان تقتنيها بنات جنسها كما يليق بهن

جميلة سهلة سلسة اقرب ما يكون لمجموعة خواطر مجمعة شعرت انها انتهت فجأة بدون مقدمات حتى لو كنت مستعدة للاستمرار بالقراءة تفاجأت انها انتهت و اشعر من ان اسباب ضعفها انها كثيرة الكلام عم قريتها و بلدها وتدخلها بأغلب الخواطر والمفروض ككاتبة ان تفصل و تستخدمها لإثراء المحتوى عند اللزوم ولكن ربما ارادت شخصنة القصص. ف بدت ك انها جزء من يومياتها ولم افهم ما المقصد من الاسئلة ب اخر الكتاب شعرت انها تحوله لكتاب تعليمي يُدرّس اكثر منه نص ادبي

كتاب يُقرأ بسرعة، ليس لأن قصصه قصيرة فحسب، بل لأن أسلوب إميلي نصر الله سلس وقريب من القارئ. إلا أنني خرجت منه بشعور متكرر: “ليت هذه القصة كانت أطول”. بعض النصوص، خاصة تلك المتعلقة بالغربة والرحلات العائلية، كانت تمتلك مقومات روايات كاملة، لكن الكاتبة اكتفت بإشارات ولمحات. ربما هذا جزء من جمال الكتاب، لكنني كنت أتمنى مزيدًا من الإسهاب في تلك التجارب
