Another great collection of fun and interesting facts to fascinate, amuse, and educate. A few selections I enjoyed learning:

Young giraffes sometimes moo.

A pineapple is actually made up of a bunch of berries.

Baby eels are called elvers.

Legend says that pirate treasure may be buried near The Statue of Liberty.

Astronauts say space smells like metal and seared steak.

There’s a beach in Hawaii with green sand.

There’s a forest of crooked trees in Poland.

Elephants can hear each other trumpet up to five miles away.

Google was originally called BackRub.

Bees once made blue and green honey after picking up colorful waste from an M&M’s factory.

Lots of fascinating facts in these books. I then spent some time googling to see pictures of rainbow grasshoppers, glass frogs, purple crabs, blue tarantulas, and wombat poop. My only wish is that they'd given details behind the facts. Why IS wombat poop square?

It has lots of different and interesting facts like you can throw a ball six times further on the moon and that’s why I kept reading it because of all of the insane facts.

This book is filled with unusual and crazy fun facts. Wonderful for the child that "hates" to read. The information is not really organized or useful in any way, but still entertaining. I think this book would be great for a long car ride or a quick silent reading period. Who knows...you might learn something new.

I LOVE these books!

Did you know....

*A Taiwanese airline flies Hello Kitty themed jets.

*Giraffe hooves are the size of dinner plates.

*The average home produces more air pollution than a car.

*Astraphobia is the fear of thunder and lightening.

So many fun facts on brightly colored pages. The kids love reading these and so do I! Recommended for adults and kids alike.

This was a good book. I recommend this book if you want to find some fun facts about animals, plants and the earth. They did not have as much talk about millions of years. I recommend this book if you want to learn interesting facts.

This book talks about the all the crazy things you could never have imagined. Some of these things might not seem real, but trust me they are real! There are realistic facts in this book that happens all around the world. For example, "billions of years ago, earth reached 3,700 F. that's seven times hotter than a barbecue grill at a cookout". Awesome right, and realistic.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn new things or wants to see what is happening around the world today.

Weird But True 5 by National Geographic Kids is a great book for anyone who wants to learn many interesting facts while reading. This book is filled with jaw-dropping facts like, “Did you know that there was no ice in Antarctica 55 million years ago? ”. Facts like these make this book very entertaining. Amazon gave this book 4.4 stars, but I would give it 4.999 stars. All in all this is a very well done book, but not the best for intellectual reading.

This book is filled with weird facts, hence, the name Weird but True. Did you know that babies have taste buds in their cheeks, or that Google was originally called BackRub, or that a vending machine in Singapore gave away a free soda to anyone who hugged the machine. Read more of these wacky facts in Weird but True! 5: 300 Outrageous Facts.

The facts in the book Weird but True 5 were actually really interesting. For example, a fact like, A vending machine in
Finland gave you free sodas if you hugged it was very weird and interesting. And other facts like some frogs are bright
Purple are really, really gross.

This book was very interesting. Like all the other books, it caught my interest. It was very surprising to me that a artist built a whole bridge out of just cardboard. These books are my favorite to read on long car trips.

I'm a sucker for weird stuff and I love to read so Weird but True! was the perfect quick read while waiting in line. Some I already knew but some were quite interesting. Some may require a bit of research before I take it as absolute truth.
