Remi Harris has a plan. Graduate high school, go to college, become a history teacher, be self-sufficient unlike her mother who is a struggling single mom. And the word ‘boy’ has no place in her plan. Cooper Neal has been sent to his estranged father’s house to spend his Senior year getting to know him. And maybe, just maybe, there will be some cute girls in the small town.
Cooper sees Remi and he falls hard. Remi sees Cooper and wonders if she can do both. The question is; will he ruin her plans, or will she let him be a part of them?
Lila Felix is full of antics and stories. She refused to go to Kindergarten after the teacher made her take a nap on the first day of school. She staged her first protest in middle school. She almost flunked out of her first semester at Pepperdine University because she was enthralled with their library and frequently was locked in. Now her husband and three children have to put up with her rebel nature in Louisiana where her days are filled with cypress trees, crawfish, and of course her books and writing. She writes about the ordinary people who fall extraordinarily in wild, true love.
Lila is amazing. I repeat, Lila Felix is a literary genius. And I'm not just saying that 'cause I know her and she's the sweetest lady ever. She really pulls you in and makes you feel what's going on. It's like it's happening to you and you feel every heartbreak, every laugh, every swoon worthy moment right in your chest.
The book starts off with Remi. Her mother has spent the majority of her life depending on a man who winds up leaving her high and dry with kids and no way to support them. The mother proceeds to spend all of Remi's life telling her that a woman should never depend on a man for anything and you have to make your own way. School and work are important.
Then of course Remi meets Cooper Neal and holy moly, do things change. They both get shipped to live with someone else and start a new school. And the attraction is instant, but they take things as they come. The pace of their relationship was perfect and Cooper is a serious sweetheart. By the end of the book, I was crying for him and swooning at the same time. When two people fall so hard for each other, even if things aren't perfect, those are my kinds of books. They make me want to relive my own romance with my husband and feel all that first love stuff all over again.
This book is not about perfect love, it's about love that hangs on when your own insecurities and future plans try to make themselves more important than that love. But they aren't. In my book, love is the most important thing there is and the ending.... the way she ended this was so out of the ordinary for the books I've read, I was smiling the whole way through. I wouldn't mind reading another book about these two.
If you haven't tried Lila Felix, she has another book, Emerge that's out, that's just as good if not better.
5 wonderfully surprised, book boyfriend material, swooning and then more swooning, crying like a banshee and then laughing then next minute stars from me.
I really wanted to like this book, but unfortunately I really didn't. In the beginning, I thought Remi was a likable character. As the book progressed, I definitely changed my mind. I understand she didn't want to end up like her mother, but I thought she used it too much as an excuse and it kept her from living her life. When Cooper bought her the promise ring, I found her even more annoying. He wasn't asking for marriage, he just wanted her to know he loved her and that he would never leave her. As for the entire school issue, she just punished herself. While there is nothing wrong with getting a GED, she wasted an opportunity to be a teenager in high school and be with her friends. I just felt, overall, Remi was very childish. Perchance was a bit juvenile and that may be why I didn't really enjoy it. It could possibly be a good read for younger teens.
Remi's home life isn't so great and her mom can barely afford the children she has by working 2 jobs. She goes to live with her Aunt Brenda who has no children. She's also a school teacher at Remi's new High School. She's a great lady and easy to fall in love with.
At the age of 17, Cooper, is shipped off to live with his dad his senior year whom he has never met. Cooper knows nothing about his father but is determined to not like him. He also meets his father's mother who is a hoot and gives sound advice. Eric, Cooper's dad, isn't the jerk Cooper thought he would be. Turns out the old man isn't so bad after all.
Cooper and Remi meet each other on their second day in town at the Flea Market. It's love at first site. Cooper will do whatever he can to make Remi his "forever" girl. Remi will need some convincing as she has a jaded view of men thanks to her mother. Cooper and Remi make friends with Troy and Josie, who end up dating each other as well. As Remi fights her heart and head on what to do, she will also have to fight off Bad Breath Kevin. As Cooper tries to win Remi's heart, he will also have to fight off "Pippy" screechy shrill voice Candy.
If you are looking for a fun, light, romantic-comedy with a sweet YA love story, then look no further. This book is a quick read that will put a smile on your face 95% of the book. I had a few good laughs as well. I also loved that this was a dual POV.
My only issue would have been the last chapter. It ends the way you want, it just felt a tad rushed and Remi should have had to work a little harder for what she wanted.
I wanted to like this book, but the main character, Remi, is annoying. This book could also use a good editor. There were grammatical errors, spelling errors, wrong use of words, etc. Finally, the plot is week because there is no real conflict. Remi just breaks Cooper's heart over a selfish thing. One last thing, Cooper is not believable as a 17 year old boy. He doesn't look at other girls, puts Remi's feelings well above his own, and knows he wants to get married at 17? Nope, never met a 17 year old like him. I
First I have to say that this book is EPIC in every way! I have never sat down and read a book in four hours and wanted more no I actually needed more. I was like an addict needing my next high so much so I was shaking my Kindle thinking something was wrong. This story tore at my heart and had me reaching the tissues because never had I read where two people had had such hard lives reach deep down and allow themselves some "ME" time and allow themselves to open up and truly love.
Remi comes from a hard life. Her father walked out on the family years ago and all Remi's mother does is work which leaves Remi to raise her siblings. Remi's mother is what I call a man hater after being hurt by men she bashes them and lashes out. Remi listens to what her mother tells her about guys and stays away from them. She vows that she will not make the same mistake her mother made. No way she is going to go to school and get an education and then if there is room left for a man she will pursue him.
Then things start to fall apart for her mother and she and her siblings are separated to different members of the family. Remi is sent to live with her aunt Brenda who lives in Louisiana whom she has never met but Remi is a good girl and she tells her mother and aunt she can't wait to get there. Once Remi arrives there her world is turned upside down. She never expected to fall in love and make friends that would support her and stick by her through the most difficult part of life. Remi meets Cooper and he is a game changer for her and she is not so sure whether it is for good or bad.
Remi will have to decide if Cooper is good for her like her heart tells her or if he is bad for her like her mother has always told her.
Cooper is a quiet boy who has never ever given his mama any trouble but it is his senior year and she is working more and more so she wants Cooper to meet his father. Cooper has never been mean to his mother but when she suggests he stay with a father he does not remember he wants to be mean to her and yell and scream but Cooper decides he will take it out on the man that left him and his mother high and dry.
As Cooper travels on the plain to Louisiana he is thinking his senior year is going to suck because he will be the new kid on the block and won't have any friends.Cooper never in a million years thought he would find the love of his life and friends. But once he gets there and meets his father he realizes that just maybe he could be happy there. As he and his father establish a relationship Cooper meets the girl of his dreams and he is instantly taken by her. What he does not know is that the girl he met is anti boy and he will have to work for this relationship. It is not going to come naturally and it will not be a cake walk.
Cooper is ready for anything when it comes to Remi. He has never ever loved a girl before and he will do whatever it takes to get Remi and stay with Remi. Will Remi let her walls down long enough for Cooper to sneak in? Will she break through the lies her mother has told her about boys? This is a must read love story that will grip you right from the start and have you laughing and crying all on the same page! Lila Felix you are one of my Favorite 2012 authors and I need more!
Remi's mother has always instilled in her that you cannot trust men. You have to make something of yourself and never fall in love. Men are not worth the effort and will only leave you high and dry. And Remi has fully believed every word her mother spoke up until she moved to Southern Louisiana. Up until she met Cooper.
Cooper is sent to live with a man he has never known…a man that left his mother to raise a small child all by herself. Cooper will be nice, his mother raised him that way, but he will never call him dad. Living in St. Francisville is only temporary and he doesn't have to like it. That is until he lays eyes on Remi and he instantly falls in love. Hey, maybe Southern Louisiana isn’t so bad after all.
Both Remi and Cooper have plans to just get through their senior year of high school. Only thing is Remi feels she has to complete high school so she doesn't follow in her mother's footsteps. But what happens when she realizes she is falling for Cooper in the meantime? Will she get her happily ever after? Or will things get to be too much, too soon?
I was so excited to hear that Lila had another book coming out so close on the heels of Emerge. I thought Emerge was really good but once I cracked open Perchance I was even more in love with her story telling. This is one author who knows what a reader wants when it comes to romance. I inhaled it and was smitten like a kitten at the end.
The buildup of the relationship between Remi and Cooper was just too sweet and too beautiful. Was it perfect? Absolutely not. But they grew and learned from each other. Both of them have flaws, one more than the other. And those flaws are what made them so likeable and believable to the reader. You want to be able to relate with the characters you read in some way or another and Lila pegged it.
And don’t you just love the title and the cover of the story? Both are perfection. The definition of perchance is by some chance; perhaps. And that right there folks tells the whole story. Or does it? Maybe it wasn't chance that brought these two souls together. Maybe it was fate. You go read the story and then let me know what you think, ok?
"Are you asking me out Cooper Neal?" I said. Was it just me or was he getting closer? I could smell the Juicy Fruit gum in his mouth. "Not yet." He smiled and took off towards the parking lot. I barely got a hold of myself before I groaned. "I'm gonna kill him."
I just love Lila! I do! Ever since I have read her very first book Emerge. When she contacted me to read her new book I jumped at the chance. I finished it in 1 day! I could not put it down! There are no supernaturals in this book, just a girl and a boy. I loved it!
Best Part: Well, I can add Cooper Neal to the Fictional Boyfriend list. I fell in love with him. He is kind, thoughtful, loving and loves Remi with all his heart. I felt bad for Cooper at first because he was moving to a new town with his Dad that he did not really even know. However, he pretty much falls in love with Remi in a heartbeat and there was no turning back. I loved that Lila wrote him as a good guy. Let me explain, he is polite, kind and just a good guy! I also loved his grandmother, Edith! She was a great person in this book and reminded me of my own grandmother. Remi is also amazing in this story. I love that she comes from a hard life and has set goals for herself so that she does not end up like her mother. Like Cooper, she is kind, sweet and she is a good person. When she comes to live with her Aunt Brenda she was just going to focus on school, but Cooper changed that!
Not so great: Ok, I am a very nosy person, when it comes to epilogues. I want to know it ALL! However, in this epilogue it was a little lacking at the end and I was still wanting more! Not sure if there is more to come but I can hope because I would love to see more of Cooper and Remi in my Book Nerd Life.
Remi and Cooper are two teenages thrown in a situation during their senior year of High school not under their control. It was sweet to see how a young lady decides to make sure she doesn't fall victim of her mother's past mistakes. But at times she gets too stuborn and without knowing it still makes stupid mistakes of her own. Near the end of the story, I really didn't like Remi and Cooper was entirely too trusting.
Great book, Lila Felix does not disappoint! Cooper was so sweet, I just loved him. I am so happy Remi came to her senses, looking forward to this authors next book!
Lila is a master artist when it comes to creating love stories. She takes people that are eternally optimistic, despite their troubled pasts & together they learn that the power of love can conquer all darkness. Each one of Lila's stories is an unique lesson in self reliance, hope, trust & endless ardoration. Perchance is a beautiful example of Lila's devotion to creating realalistic characters that will envelop her readers & make them a part of this enchanting love story.
This story begins with Remi, she is determined not to end up like her mother, stuck with four kids and two dead end jobs. To break away from the negative cycle her mom has created, Remi takes the opportunity to move in with her Aunt Brenda to a small Louisiana town. On the other side of that same town, Cooper moves in with his estranged father. When these two meet, it's an instant attraction & Cooper can't stop the irresistible pull he feels toward Remi. Although she's drawn to Cooper, Remi begins an internal battle due to her mother's constant warnings of the "evils" of men. This however, doesn't deter Cooper from showering Remi with romantic gestures. Remi can't help but fall hopelessly in love with him, I mean who wouldn't love a boy that takes you on picnics & brings you lunch, right? *sigh*
As in all relationships, Remi & Cooper have their issues. After a receiving seemly innocent gift, Remi makes a decision that crushes Cooper & brings him to his knees. He has no choice but to wait for Remi to work though her anxiety. Can Remi accept Cooper's desire to be a part of her life, or will her apprehensions overshadow her devotion to Cooper? You'll have to read Perchance to find out!!
Honestly? I would be a very happy girl if I could just read every book with a guaranteed happy ending.
This one's like that. :)
Perchance is a cute, sweet and romantic YA novel. It's about two people who went to a new place with heavy hearts. Suddenly, everything changes. They find themselves in love. They become the highlight of each other's days. Somehow along the way, they also manage to become better people.
Cooper is indeed one of the most endearing, patient and sweetest YA character that I've ever come across. His everyday thoughts about Remi were just the sweetest thing! I could just bundle him up in hearts and sunshine! He's also big on the "grand gesture" which is kinda rare to most YA guys nowadays. I can't help but admire his patience with Remi, especially when Remi pulled her disappearing act. I am so amazed by his plan and the way he handled not being with her. On the other hand, Remi, even with her trust issues, has her moments. She sure know how to make a grand gesture all on her own.
The beauty of this book lies in the conflict itself. I found myself asking things like "If I were Remi, would I have done this too?" or "What will I do if I were in her place?". I wasn't even worried. I totally knew that they'd end up together again. Hah! The power of faith in my author.
All in all, this is a good read. It's full of surprises, sweet moments and... stalkery? HAHA. I'm glad that I gave it a shot. ;)
I have to say I truly enjoy Lila Felix's writing. This is the second book I have read by this author and I enjoyed it just as much. I enjoy that her books don't have the unnecessary drama. She focuses on the love story. I would definitively recommend this book. I had a smile on my face throughout this entire book. The only reason I took off a 1/2 star was because I felt the ending was a little rushed. I think Cooper could have made Remi work a little harder to get his forgiveness. Still a fabulous YA love story:)
This was a very sweet YA love story. I loved Coopers "voice" - his personality really shown through. He was the ultra-perfect boyfriends - talk about steadfast. He never gave up - no matter how many times Remi pushed him away. For some reasons I found the alternating first person narrative somewhat distracting - and occasionally there were re-telling a of a situation from both Remi and Coopers prospectives without the addition of any new information.
I liked the book at first or tried to 🤷🏼♀️ and could understand Remi’s hang ups but all Cooper ever did was support her and after the Christmas thing...It was a promise ring1 Guy made his intentions known and WAS STILL SUPPORTIVE OF HER!!!! The book fell apart for me totally and I just skimmed the rest…Remi’s reaction and continued reaction pissed me off she could have fixed it so easy, but she was waaay childish and honestly I feel Cooper let her off easy.
Also!!! Who in the heck would give up a Cuda?!?!?!?! And also, I do not recall the dad saying it's your car just "You can use it."...Now I am just being picky I know...smh
Yea after having a night to think about this I have far more hang ups with this book then I thought...Ugh and I really liked "Emerge" thought it was cute. So I was hoping this would be good too but like "Hoax" it was kinda....Meh
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
It didn’t flow for me the way her other books did...I don’t know if this was one of her earlier books but I felt like it could have been better.
I especially felt like Remi blew things well out of proportion. I understand she was dealing with everything her mom had told her during her whole life but to me it was way too much!!!
Perchance by Lila Felix left me speechless, and that's about the only thing I know. I am extremely conflicted about this book. I know that I loved it, but I also have some problems with it. The problem with the said problems are confusing because I can't actually decide if they're problems or if it's another thing I love. I think the difference between this book and Emerge for me is that I knew that I loved Emerge, but Perchance baffles me. It was so horrendously beautiful that I just...can't.. GAH! The FEEEEELS!!!
The story starts off with Remi who has been told by her mother that you should never depend on men to take care of you. Remi has taken that to heart. As she moves into her new house she lightens up a bit and throughout the romance she gets more playful, awesome, and you get to see more of her sweet side. A problem I found in general with her is that she has a tenancy to almost assume what others are feeling and act accordingly. Her inability to communicate was a major problem. I think the reason I have a love-hate relationship with Remi because I see a lot of myself in her. She is sarcastic, sweet (you can be the judge of that for me), likes to joke, and tends to "think for people and act accordingly". This led to a point when I got mad at her for not doing what i would do (I know, it's horrible). Anyway, great main character who definitely isn't childish and juvenile.
I don't think there's much to say about Cooper (in the context of problems). He is my "Lila-Felix-Caleb" per say. He was a lot like Remi in ways. He was extremely sweet and caring, but was also joking and tended to think for other people as well as Remi did. He was devastated when she rejected the promise ring and that couple of chapters was when you really got the deepness of his feelings. I don't think I've ever read a character with glasses either (that I remember). Gotta love the glasses!
The story definitely wasn't cute and light. The whole book was extremely heavy, but that isn't a bad thing. The characters and events were thought provoking and made me emotionally invest in the story even more. The other characters were prominent just enough that hey seemed important, but not as important as Cooper and Remi. What I really love about Lila Felix's books is the fact that he can make it with less steamy parts, but it still seems epic, profound, and amazing. Her stories focus so much on the development of the characters, and make the reader reflect. What really had me tied up was the last third of the book which was completely depressing. Yes, I found some of the things Remi did a bit extreme, but the story would not have been the same. She needed to understand what she did and realize that the destruction of the relationship was not men and Cooper chaining her in, but the absence of Cooper brought more destruction.
I would say the only thing that has been pestering my mind is why she chose to come back like that. I found it really annoying that she had to make sure Cooper wanted her back. It's all her personality though, so I can understand to an extent. Overall, a different and yet wonderful book by Lila Felix. I once again am exhausted from the emotional roller coaster that she has masterfully created. Definitely a book (I think) that would be perfect to be read in schools with the dual-POVs and discussion opportunities. 5 out of 5 stars
-M
P.S. THAT is why the book was so hard to review, Mrs. Felix!!
The first word that comes to mind when I think about Perchance, is sweet. This is truly a sweet and tender love story. Things weren't always perfect or easy for Remi and Cooper, but their love for each other was true.
I really felt for Remi. She's the oldest of four kids of a single mother. Her father left them when she was younger and her mom has struggled balancing two jobs. That left Remi to help with her siblings and leave little time to be a kid/teenager herself. When it gets to be too much, Remi goes to live with a relative. Remi doesn't want to turn out like her mom. She will not rely on a man to support her. So, she's determined to get through school and follow a plan. The problem is....she met Cooper.
Cooper is perfect. Seriously, perfect. He moves to the same town as Remi to live with his estranged father. Cooper sees Remi on her first day in town and is captivated. Flirtation begins, but Remi is hesitant about taking it further. Not because she doesn't feel the same way, but because falling for Cooper isn't part of her plan. Cooper doesn't give up on her though. I loved his determination to make her see that he can be a part of her life, encourage her to succeed, and most important...will stand by her always.
These two both had some distorted views on family life. Neither one had a great model to follow. Even though Remi was the one that was so reluctant about the relationship, Cooper had some of his own issues to overcome. I was glad to see how is relationship with his father developed. I also loved the subtle interference from Edith.
Overall, Perchance was a pleasant, easy read. It sends a good message by showing the value of learning to include and rely on others to love and support you in your dreams. Lila Felix has created another story that I would definitely recommend. This is a mild romance and is appropriate for 15 and older readers.
I love everything written by Author Lila Felix. It’s always so excellent and I feel the deep love the characters feel for one another! Remi and Cooper have to leave home for very different reasons but end up in the same town. When they meet it’s that instant love connection. But Remi has a plan and meeting a boy does not fit into her plan. Cooper does anything and everything to do what has to be done so he can fit perfectly into her plan without rearranging it. He just has it bad and wants her no matter the cost. He is enamored by her right away and she reciprocates but she is hesitant. Remi just isn’t 100% positive that having a boyfriend is what she needs right now. The love they feel is so special and true! They have faith in each other and trust each other completely. Everything is going smoothly she is excelling in school and so is he, things get serious fast and when Cooper jumps the gun can she hang or will she run? & when finds out the truth behind the reason for her plan can she find it in her heart to make the right choice? I really liked Remi’s determination she had a goal and want to reach her goal but there were times when I wanted to smack her and shake her to wake up and quit being so stubborn. Determination is awesome in itself but determination and stubbornness makes a vexing mix. Cooper was just adorable, the thought of how sweet he was just swooned me over the top. He was raised with manners and treats Remi with the highest respect. This was a touching story that was so romantic and Cooper is the boy you want your daughters to meet! Handsome and polite with gravy on the side the perfect combo!! I give this story 5 stars with a G rating it was awesome! There were no bad language or sex scenes at all just completely clean and endearing. You will love this story trust me!! Visit my blog @ lindylubookreview.com
Meet Remi a 17 year old girl who has lived her life watching her mom struggle to raise her and her siblings all her life. It's not a surprise to Remi when she gets shipped off to live with her Aunt. While Living with her Aunt she keeps one thing in mind: school first, boys last (if ever)! She does not want to end up like her mom. Then she meets Cooper. {enter *sigh* here} Cooper a 17 year old boy upset that he has to be shipped off on his senior year to live with his father. A father he's never met. He's adamant that he will not enjoy his time there. In fact, has plans to make sure his Dad glimpses a teenage boys attitude. Then he sees Remi. {enter *sigh* here} I liked this book because I'm a hopeless romantic. I just love a story filled with cute flirting and looks of longing. It was an adorable, romantic story of two young people, meeting and falling in love. Their only obstacle being Remi's diversion to accepting her feelings for Cooper. Cooper doesn't fall into her plans! Can she continue on her course without Cooper? Or can she do both? We were able to watch these two come together and flirt and kiss and fall in love! Ahhhhh, young love! First love! Doesn't get better than that! It's almost like you're reading a story that really can happen. No crazy, mayhem fillers in this one. (Note: I do love crazy, mayhem fillers...this one didn't need it.) These two characters are young and fall hard just like teenagers do! Lila Felix wrote this wonderfully and I think people should pick it up, especially if you like cute, fast reads (I do!) It brought multiple smiles to my face! Who doesn't want to pick up a feel good book? Cooper is just too lovable! Why would Remi want to run from that!? I give this book my thumbs up!
I'm a little in two minds regarding this book. one... I liked it somewhat and two... it's much to young for compared to my usual literature and that's a huge downer for me since I wasn't aware that it was so.
I really liked the characters. Cooper is very sweet and a great guy. Remi bugged me at times but all-round she's just... ok. I didn't like her negative attitude and I had to keep reminding myself about why it is that she doesn't accept situations easily.
A plus for me is the writing style. I really liked it. Easy to follow and understand. Although this book was a bit adolescent for my personal taste I would definitely read another Lila Felix book again.
I really would have liked to see more development in their relationship. It felt stagnant for me until the end of the book where it jumps 4 years into the future. Even with the jump it's very brief. I didn't get a 'happy ever after' feeling since there wasn't much to encourage me that it went that route :(
Remi has always been taught by her mother that men are not someone u can trust and to stay away from them...and somewhere after seeing her mother suffer with caring 4 daughters and juggling two jobs she believes it..that there's no true love and men leave when they get a chance.
She moves out with her Aunt to help her's mom's burden but what she doesn't expect is to meet cooper and fall for him..exactly opposite of what her mom has preached her life..but what about her feelings and heart?
Cooper can't believe her mom is sending off to rekindle his relationship with his father..who left them long back..hes angry,frustrated..but when he meets Remi all he feels is joy and happiness..cos hes in love and he will do anything to get that girl..even if he has to wait forever to wait for her to make decision.
But one wrong move and Remi-Cooper's life is torn apart..Remi's fear of commitment and Cooper's feelings of love..make a mess and their life is left in chaos.Cam Remi can overcome her fear of men and love,Can cooper still wait forever for remi to come back and prove her true love exists ?
I loved Emerge..so reading this and loving was expected..but i definitely loved it as much as i loved emerge..!
Perchance is once of those feel good books..that once you put down you want to pick it right back up and start over at the beginning.Perchance is about Remi who all she wants to do is graduate and go to college and be nothing like her mother.Cooper,Is meeting his father for the first time in 17 years. For both of them are in for unexpected surprises.
My favorite thing about this book is that the good romantic stuff starts right away. You don't have to wait until the very ending for something to happen.I loved Cooper,In all honesty you rarely find a 17 year old like that and that made him stand out..in a good way.Remi I just wanted to give her a big hug..Unfortunately that's impossible..okay I did hug her in my head.I adored Coopers Grandmother she was wonderful..her role in the book was small and yet huge at the same time.
Lila Felix has written a book that will wrap you up and have you rooting for the main characters.I'd be here typing the same things over and over if I tried to explain just how much I loved this book.Haven't read it?Read it.Enjoy it!Love it!
Remi is a Sweet, Strong-willed girl who is Determined to finish school so that she can make something of herself. Remi doesn't want to have to rely on any man to take care of her, she can do it herself. Remi has many doubts when it comes to Love, one is she doesn't think she can balance it out while trying to finish high school with Epic grades. Cooper (Swoons) A Beautiful, Sweetheart of a boy who just wants to help Remi finish school and show her she can have a relationship too. He goes to many lengths to prove it to Remi even moving at a snail's pace and being friends first (Remi is pretty skittish in trusting any boy w/o them wanting something in return), getting her school supplies, making her breakfast and/or lunch. These two characters have many flaws but learn so much from each other. They take their time getting to know one another but no relationship is without any hiccups... Cooper & Remi have a lot they need to do to last the long haul. Is there a cliffhanger? Do they last?? Happy Ending perhaps or just give up??? Well you won't know until you buy yourself a copy TODAY and dig in!!!!!!!!!!
Perchance is a well written and sweet coming of age/first love story that tugs at your emotions from the first page.
I was struck by how bad Remi's life was when she volunteered to leave her mother and siblings to live with an aunt she'd never met. But, leaving was to help her mom-quite self-less for a seventeen-year-old. Her situation made me care for her right off (and count my blessings).
Cooper's situation wasn't nearly as bad as Remi's, but his history also drew me to him. And I liked him even more each time he showed that his feelings for Remi were so much more than physical attraction.
I liked the alternating points of view, and the almost journal-entry-like way much of the story was told.
There were a few instances where I was concerned that Remi and Cooper were going to completely succumb to their hormones, but both kept their parents' mistakes in mind and knew what they needed to do for a promising future.
Content: language and several passionate scenes (no sex).
man! iv seen the bad boys and the beaus, rakes and rockstars but Cooper Neal is the nice guy in fact, hes the epitome of NICE GUY! totally sawoooooon worthy!
as for the story, it was pretty good in the beginning, the POVs kept switching so often, lyk wit evry page, it made my head spin n then towrds the middle, the book stabilized and got sooo cute, soo sweet! i was sure i was on my way to diabetes!!! (i knw, lame joke :p) but then her 'issues' came up, wich i think was a lil pointless wich made the rest of the story a total moot case but things worked out in the end,so i guess it was happys endings!
but none of it mattrs, coz Cooper Neal stole my heart away tip to ol the boys out there,MANNERS MATTER!! lol tip to ol the girls out there, if i guys gives u a promise ring at 17, shut ur trash can n WEAR IT!! jeez, u don hav to complicate EVRYTHING!
I completely adored this book! Lila Felix did an outstanding job in telling of this wonderful love story of Cooper & Remi. As I read this book I felt every emotion that radiated from Remi. Cooper is a guy that every women on this planet would beg for. I fell in love myself with these characters. I found myself hoping, praying, waiting for their happy ending. Remi, who didn't have the best influence growing up but determined to make a life for herself. Then Cooper comes along and she feels that with him it could all be takin away. Cooper made it a point to support her need to be independent. He made it a point that no matter what he would always be by her side. He didn't want to take from her life he just wanted to add to it. This book was very well written. The author did an outstanding job showing both POVs.
