The main characters discover there will be no help coming anytime soon, and the monsters are reproducing! The art takes a hit, especially character faces. There's a lot of action and an ominous cliffhanger.
I mean... I can read it fast and a lot happens and the art is really detailed. It’s not really intelligent storytelling, but it’s action packed.
Takeshiro is still trying to find the girl of his dreams in a world overrun by monsters. He previously saved another girl, who now thinks she owes him her life. A total bad-ass PE teacher is also helping out. They run around a lot while minor characters get killed by increasingly bizarre monstrosities. They also find out they are trapped in the station because a huge fissure has opened up all around them. Plus the centipede monsters are making babies.
All dumb, all the time. But mildly entertaining. Definitely a different kind of take on giant monsters!
Enjoyed this one a little better than the first volume, I like when we get to see the ensembles firm up and will be curious to see where they go. Really loving the creature design. It's very creepy.
The monster invasion continues. I like the pacing of the book, it's got just the right amount of story and exposition before the next monster scene. Let's be honest, that's why we're here--to see what pops up next and what they'll do to the survivors they find.
Me gusta, mucho gore, mucha sangre.
