Sometimes, love isn’t as magical as people expect it to be…

Rona believes love is nothing more than a myth, a tale for little girls. As the oldest daughter, she knows duty and family honor as well as the difference between salt and cinnamon.

Until the immortal ruler of the seas appears from thin air and she is swept into a dark and dangerous affair. What was formerly myth soon becomes part of the everyday. And Rona believes when Seid tells her they will be together forever.

But forever is a long time and after she betrays him, what was supposed to be an eternity in paradise becomes an eternity in hell. Now she is cursed, unable to feel human emotions except through the couples she is led to save.

Two thousand years is an awfully long time to live alone. And the business of love saving isn’t what it used to be. By the twenty-first century, love has become an illusion as grandiose as magic and Rona’s ready to give up. Until the night she is seen by a human. Deep in the underbelly of the city that never sleeps, she recognizes him instantly. He may dress differently and have gained a few new scars, but she would recognize the face of her former lover in any lifetime.

Trouble is, he seems to have no memory of her and he and his ex-girlfriend are the ones whose true love she’s meant to save.
But when he starts to fall for her, she is forced to learn what it means to be human all over again.

Past and present come full circle in this tale of love, forgiveness and woe.

If I didn't love my own novel then what sort of author would I be? Of the three works I've published thus far, Stay might be my personal favorite. I interviewed over two dozen women on the subject of true love, that ever elusive and hard-to-define topic. I've felt it in the past but like so many modern women, have been burned more than a few times. I wanted to write more than a love story when I started Stay. I wanted to put true love to the test and see not just what it is but how it stands up against all odds.

“I don’t know if purely romantic love can last through anything (it is so based on feelings and attraction, both of which are pretty fickle at times), but I think friendship can, and when the romantic love and friendship get blurred together into one, it makes ‘relationship cement’ I think.” –Kate

Orona, the beautiful being of time long lost. Two thousand years is a long time to be “stuck.” Cursed to walk the earth and solidify the bonds of true love when she herself can feel nothing. Numb to the emotions of mortals and pulled by the very threads of their soulful connections, Orona continues to bury her long forgotten feelings; feelings of love and hate, passion of both good and evil intent, but mostly her harbored disdain for the very demon that cursed her to experience emotions through that of others and never having it for herself, the man who she swore she would love till the end of her existence, Seid.

Each time she completes a task, Orona basks in the feelings she absorbs from her charges before catching a new thread to her next mission; she never in a thousand years could fathom seeing the face of man she loved and hated with equal fervor again…

This book both confused and enlightened me. I loved the way Orona passed through time and how despite her curse she came to know love again. When she was brought to save the spider-thin thread of Lissa (the beautiful but empty showgirl) and Cain (her long-lost lover’s dopple-ganger), Orona struggles with new found feelings for a man that she could never be with. Cain knew something was different about this exotic woman with golden hair and rainbow colored eyes…and he felt incredibly connected to her.

“It’s like I’ve been asleep all my life,” he whispered,” but when I saw you, I woke up.”

Throughout the story, Orona becomes more mortal than she has been in over a millennia with her feelings and even though her newfound jealousy wants Cain to be with her, she knows there is only one man that she can ever be with; the one who both loved and cursed her. It’s been over 1000 years since she’s felt his presence; and after her task is completed she goes back to where everything started…but can she ever know true love for herself again, or at least a little peace?

“Love is ever changing, just like us. Sometimes it’s good and sometimes it’s not so good but in the end if you have each other to lean on you can keep the love growing and not just love them but keep being in love with them.” – Beth

Keeping love alive in any relationship can be difficult when faced with the challenges these people do during the story. I love the way the author made a tangible, visible thread for me to envision and grab hold of. Orona is amazing both as an ethereal being and a woman, I instantly fell in love with her strength and unselfishness. She has a genuine curiosity about modern life and such passion about the love lives she saves. And Cain…yum. Just yum. He is everything a man should be: strong, sensitive, handsome, hard-working, and just an all-around good guy. The way their story along with the rest of it unfolds has a wonderful message conveyed and beautifully delivered. This book is unlike anything I have read. It was an intriguing tale of love, loss and lessons in both.

Does true love exist? What are you willing to do to find and keep true love? Cain and Rona’s story stretches across time. Both battered by life’s experiences and a curse, they struggle to find that special spark in life again. As love begins to grow, the task to reunite Cain and his ex-girlfriend becomes more difficult. Cain’s emotions reawakens Rona’s lost humanity and feelings, building strong emotional connections to the characters.

Stay is a completely original story, highly complex and filled with love and regret. The end was shocking and totally unexpected...completely heart breaking, but true to the storyline. I found Stay to be a captivating read bursting with heart felt emotions and character.

This copy of Stay was given to me by Jennifer Silverwood in exchange for an honest review.

ORIGINALLY POSTED AT GIVE IT TO CUPCAKE.

Here's another book that has a gorgeous, simple cover. The colors and tones are perfect! Excellent job!

As for the book itself, after reading the blurb, I knew I had never read anything like Stay before. I was expecting some type of cupid love triangle, but I got much more than that. This is a love story that stretches across thousands of years, yet is just as important in the present time. Rona is cursed to walk the earth as an immortal, finding couples on their last chance of love, and made to decide if their love is worth saving or not. This is all because her one true love, Seid, used his powers when he felt betrayed by her long ago.

I enjoyed the fact that Rona is so naive, despite the fact that she has walked the earth of two thousand years. She is programed to believe certain aspects of her curse and life can not be changed, but she meets Cain, who challenges everything she thought she knew about herself.

Cain is a broken man, stuck in the normalcy of his routine until Rona comes along. She brings him back to reality and sparks a fire back in him that had been sucked dry by many devastating events in his life. It's a double edged sword though, because the more Cain comes alive, the more Rona is drawn to him and away from her task, which is to reunite Cain and his ex-girlfriend.

Cain and Rona's story is laced with passion, love, and regret from both parties. However, their journey brings out the final fate for both of them, which I don't think either of them ever expected to see happen. Heck, I didn't! The final scenes were gut wrenching for romance lovers like me, but I was very pleased with how their story ended.

I also loved the fact that there was a tiny snippet from Jennifer at the back of the book, explaining how Stay came to be. I don't find that often in books, but I was pleased to get a little inside information about the background story. My favorite part was "Stay was written as an answer to my own questions, whether or not true love exists, and if so, how far people are willing to go for it." I think that's the perfect testimony for Stay.

I RECEIVED A COPY OF THIS BOOK IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST OPINION.

I'm not quite sure where to begin. Wow! I totally loved this story! I was hooked from the very beginning. It was deep. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm a sucker for a love story, and this story gave me exactly what I wanted.

At times I wanted to cry because I felt bad for Rona. I mean what she went through for her love. Not being able to be with him, and how she still loved him after what he did to her. I got excited for Cain and Rona. I was glad that he just loved her unconditionally and it didn't matter how many times she pushed him away. I fell in love with him.

It's a different story from what I'm used to reading. If I can give it more than just five stars I would.

I won Stay from a giveaway and was really excited to read it! This was the first book I read from Jennifer Silverwood and I really enjoyed it. I was captured by the main character Rona and the man she meet and fell in love with, Cain! I loved how their relationship grew and I was so happy to see the two of them find their true love! This was a different type of story from what I usually read, and I am so glad I got to read it! I look forward to more work from Jennifer!

I read her first book so I was looking forward to her next book. Stay hasn't disappointed me at all. The premise of the book is so romantic. A girl who is cursed by her lover then spends her immortality helping couples. Although she is cursed she can't forget Seid. She is an amazing character you want to see her happy.

I received this book for free from the Prism Blog Tours in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Will Orona ever feel love again?
Stay by Jennifer Silverwood is my first novel from this author. I have to say it was a great introduction to her way of writing. I loved everything about it including that it’s in the first person as that helps us, the reader, to see things from Orona’s perspective and with the way that she has known things.

Orona is the main character, and I mean, she is the only main character. It’s written in the first person which is through Orona’s eyes.
What I liked:

The fact that it’s in the first person style. I feel like with this style we can see things the way that Orona does and how this is affecting her.
I like the quotes at the top of each chapter that talks about love. The quotes make me think that this section will like the quote.
Another thing that I liked is the paranormal part of this book. I won’t go too into this part since I feel like it plays a significant role in understanding the whole of the book.
I like that it’s pretty much fast paced and the fact that a lot has happened for all the characters in the book. Including the main character and how that has helped her throughout the journey.
The last thing I liked is the underlying theme that this book has. Which I won’t spoil as it’s another big part of the book that I would want you to see when you read Stay by Jennifer Silverwood.

What I didn’t like:
I didn’t like about Stay by Jennifer Silverwood is that Orona still hasn’t grieved or done much healing herself. Another thing that I dislike about this book is her past and how I felt horrible for her. The last thing that I dislike is that she tries so hard not to get involved with anything. I think that takes care of those nasty dislikes.
Five StarsStay CR
Stay by Jennifer Silverwood is a great novel. I finished it in like a day. It was so terrific I couldn't put it down. I did feel bad for Orona, Lissa, Cain, and Seid, but happy ending are the best. Anyways this book is so well written it made me cry. I am giving this book a five-star rating, and I am recommending it to all fantasy and paranormal romances readers. Give this a try. Who knows maybe you will find your true love?!

Anyways, until the next time enjoy this review brought to you by,

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

It was a difficult read for me. At times, I would start to like the characters but their behavior would throw me off again. Rona is constantly being indecisive, going back and forth on whether she wants to save Lissa and Cain's love or continue strengthening her own connection with him. I expected some of that from the summary but I thought she lacked a maturity a 2000 year old woman who'd been fighting for love should have. She had been helping all of these couples but she didn't seem to know much at all. I also couldn't understand why some of the characters accepted the things that they did.

There were several things throughout the book that rubbed me the wrong way but the worst part of it for me was

But yeah, it just wasn't for me.

So I went into this story skeptical about true love prevailing. If you ask me if I believe in true love ,on most days I would say no.One failed marriage destroyed my belief in love.I believe true love only exists in books and movies. However,Jennifer's writing motivates me to have hope that maybe true love it real.
Rona is dealt a bad hand when she seeks safety in the arms of Seid after her father has sold her for marriage to an abusive husband. Seid sees her decision as a betray;Rona sees her decision does as something she no choice but to do which stirs Seid's anger to curse her.Now she must be the judge of true love for humans and its her jib to make sure true love prevails against the toughest trails. Her curse:she can never feel love again. But when she encounters her next mission it brings her face to face with a man who resembles Seid in almost everyday. Rona has hated and been bitter towards Seid for two thousand years but no the memories of her love for him return to the surface. Now she must chose to sacrifice what she wants for what she knows is right.Cain's true love has shattered his heart but here is still connection between them. Rona must chose to save and strengthening this connection by giving up her chance to be with Cain or chose to be selfish for once and pursue love from this human. If she makes the wrong choice there could be dire consequences for them all.

Wow! Stay is an amazing original story. Jennifer writes complex stories and detail characters and environments. I clung to ever word of this novel and felt every emotion that was thrown at me throughout this book and I loved every minute of it.

The main character reminded me of myself and the way I handle some situations and when it comes to the way I react to love and those situations. Orona has been through a lot in her 2000 years here on earth and when it comes to feeling as if love sucks and is the worst thing, I know how she feels. However, the more I read and the more I got to know her story the more I wanted her to have the love that she lost. Then the twist Jennifer gave us at the end, well, holy crap is all I have to say because I am not giving that away.

Honestly, I truly recommend this book to anyone who loves original and highly detailed stories. This book is powerful and amazingly written and that alone makes it worth reading. I can't wait to read more by this amazing author.

What to do when the only man you ever love cursed you then forget you?
~You fall in love again...with him??

I'm pretty sure I've never read a book like Stay before. Stay is different from what I imagine it will be, the story is original and will keep you guessing till the end which is very refreshing.

Stay is a tale of discovery...on how far can we give and let go? We all know how much easier it is to prioritize our own happiness, but can we really be happy knowing that our very own happiness is someone's pain and loss?

The story is about Orona, an Immortal who was cursed to guide couples achieve their HEA, knowing that Orona won't be having her own...and fate proves to be a bitch because the guy that she was supposed to help wore the face of her former lover.

I enjoyed reading Stay, it teaches us lessons about life and love, and that we should forgive in order to be fully happy.

To say that this book is "well written paranormal romance" doesn't give it justice. It's a highly imaginative whirlwind of emotion, which, thanks to Jennifer's immense talent for "showing not telling," the reader gets to experience first-hand.

I have to admit that I was a bit lost when I picked up the story, though. Jennifer dives right into Orona's narrative and doesn't give the reader much time to establish an equilibrium before winding us deeper into her life. But the beauty of the writing and the mystery surrounding Orona's curse is inescapable, drawing me back to the pages with faith that Jennifer wouldn't lead me - or my heart - astray.

A stunning read that has made me a big fan!

What is love? Love means different things to different people, a physical, mental, and emotional sensation that’s as varied as circumstance and time. And for the main character, Rona, a caretaker of love, time has transcended all physical feeling until love is not only just a memory but now an excruciating reminder of pain. Until she meets Cain, and she dares to go where love is forbidden. Will she be punished? Will she find what she seeks? Will her mission succeed? Jennifer Silverwood weaves romance and fantasy with beautiful, engaging prose. Set in current time, the characters battle their emotions and demons in a mood of ancient legend timelessness. I loved Stay and could not put this book down. Thank you, Jennifer, for such an enticing story.

Overall, I really liked Stay by Jennifer Silverwood.
The prologue was a little tough to get through, but when I got the real story, I couldn't put it down. I read straight through in one sitting. I found myself changing my mind endlessly. I just couldn't decide how I wanted it to end.
Orona is really likable and I really wanted her to find happiness. I wanted her to do the selfish thing, and the right thing, alternating hours. Cain, of course, is swoon worthy and I couldn't help falling for him a little bit right along with Rona and Lissa.
Anyway, do yourself a favor and pick up this great read.

no plot spoilers here

i found it hard to get into the prologue; but once the first chapter kicked in I couldn't put the book down.

Jennifer did an excellent job of getting me interested with the main character Rona. My heart went out to Rona, and I often found myself wishing that she could get what she wanted instead of having to provide that for others.

I'm torn wishing there was a second book coming out and being happy with the ending.

great book.

Stay is the second book I’ve read from the author Jennifer Silverwood. The best thing about the author is that the books are very easy to read. The characters, setting and details are very natural.. it doesn’t feel like they are parts of her imagination. The book feels very real though this is not a regular fiction.
I fell in love with the female lead Orona from the first chapter itself. I tried to give her life in my imagination but every time I read another detailing about her appearance; I feel that I’ve failed to imagine her right. I loved how Orona accepted the curse from her lover Seid and walked the earth for two thousand years testing and protecting true love.
This is a kind of supernatural romance fiction which doesn’t feel artificial. The male lead Cain is an interesting character. He is very much hurt when his girlfriend Lissa breaks his heart and leaves him for another rich guy. Orona is assigned the job of bringing back Cain and Lissa. But Orona falls in love with Cain since he is very much like Seid. Orona starts feeling Cain’s love and loves him in return though she knows its not in the rulebook. She faces a huge conflict about her love for Cain and her job of bringing Cain and Lissa together. The story is about what she chooses to do by the end.
I very much enjoyed this story. All the supernatural powers of Orona, Cain’s love, Orona’s past, Lissa’s guilt, everything make the story very engaging. Its an out and out entertainment. I couldn’t put down the book until I hit the last page. The story is beautifully written and succeeds in engaging the reader completely.

This book is a mixture of a mythology story and a romance novel, and I loved every minute of it.

Let's start with Rona. She is a unique character who has been cursed by a former lover. She has spent the last 2000 years protecting the true love of various humans and helping humans escape fake love and find true love. They never see her, never know she is there, and she is unable to show herself to them. It is a lonely life, but it is the life she has been chosen to live. Then she meets Cain. He has the same face as her former love, but it is marred by a scar. He can see her, and she does not know why.

To be honest, she put up more of a fight than the normal girl-who-meets-hot-guy-but-is-on-a-mission characters usually do. She tried to push him away with all that she had so that she could reunite him with his true love, his ex-girlfriend. He just wouldn't allow her to, as he wanted to be with her as well.

I loved the storyline with the ex-girlfriend. She may have originally come off as being an awful person, but Silverwood makes sure that her readers do not leave the book seeing her as some sort of villainous character. She was not a villain, she was just a victim of her own circumstances. Sure, she didn't make the best decisions, but she was trying to get out of her situation. She also didn't do that much to try to hurt Rona, even though she did try to get her a job with her boss.

The story started off slow, but I flew through it once it picked up the pace somewhere around the middle. I enjoyed both the beginning and the middle of the story, but I have to say that I didn't like the ending at all. I just....it just didn't make any sense to me. If the book had ended the way that I thought it would, it would have been perfect in my head! But it didn't. After all that character development too! It just seemed to fall short. But besides the ending, the book was awesome.

This book had no editing errors that I noticed as I was reading it. The cover is also pretty, which is a plus! But even though the cover made me think that the book was going to be a more mature read, it is relatively clean. There weren't any detailed sexual scenes that I picked up on as I read.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a new urban fantasy romance novel.

I received an advance copy of this book and this is my voluntary review.

Overall, this book was fantastic! I really enjoyed reading it and, once I put it down, I couldn't wait to pick it back up again. I think the characters were developed really well, except for Seid. I really couldn't get a grasp on him. Despite Rona's explanation as to why he cursed her, I still felt the reasoning was lacking something.

There were times the descriptions of Cain's scar and how it affected his expressions were contradictory. Once it was said to perk up that side of his mouth and a second time it was said to keep that side of his mouth turned down as he smiled. I also couldn't ever tell if they just slept together or if they 'slept' together. The only sexual interchange I could interpret was heavy making out. I don't know if that was intentional and left up to the reader or if it should be assumed. With Rona being from a drastically different time period, I don't know what she would feel or think of giving herself up to someone especially when, back in her time, intercourse was prohibited outside of marriage. The depth and overwhelming-ness of Orona and Cain's relationship truly sucks you in. Anyone who is anyone will feel the want to have what they have. The length to which the other will go for their partner can be relayed through the words and expressions on the page.

I think the description of the book was a little misleading. It talks of Rona not believing in the true love she is meant to save for eternity, however throughout the book I got the impression she thoroughly believes in it and simply her belief in Seid was lost.

I also thought the ending was a bit lacking. I couldn't tell if Seid knew he'd cursed himself or if it happened on accident. I also couldn't determine how much he remembered of being cursed. If he remembered their interactions and what was said. And what happened to Cain? Is he still a real person? Is he still with Lissa? Granted, those questions may not be pertinent to the story.

I really liked the description and how Rona's naivete of the time period was carried through the book. Overall, I really liked this book, would recommend it to anyone looking for that New Adult love story, and will probably read it again!

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a little harder to get into then I thought it would be, but I finished it and ending up really liking it! I love the original take on the book and the thought of true love and how hard we are willing to fight for it. It was such a fast read once you get into it. The beginning was a little confusing but it started to make sense further into the story line.

The ending is not what I was expecting at all. She sacrificed her own happiness for the one she loved! I really like the way Jennifer wrote this book. I loved that it was very similar to how people treat love. The fact that some are willing to fight for love and others are not.

I quite enjoyed this book! I wished it was a littler clearer in the story line but you understand it once you get into it.

I really recommend reading this book if you're in the mood for something different!

This is a little more magical for me than I like. I liked Rona, the main character, she didnt believe in the love fairy tale. So Rona is sold, not happy about that, and he is a loser. No man should ever abuse a woman and poor Rona going into this knowing he is a vile person was hard to get over. As the character is growing she leans on Seid. As the story moves on the characters turn towards what I would call a grieving process. Now Rona is nasty, blaming the wrong people. Seid is also doing the same.

Just when Rona is going to give up, well it takes many thousands of years, there is that pull towards memories of Seid. It is a little bit of a fork in the road. Does Rona go good or bad?

Does she go for the love she needs without knowing the outcome? Pretty good plot especially if you like this genre!

I just finished this book and I am still digesting it. Overall it was a really good concept and I really did enjoy the book.

I liked how Roma's an entity that is so original the character doesn't even know what she is. She is destined to protect true love but cursed to never feel it for herself.

I won't lie I expected the ending, but I enjoy it when I'm right when I predict something in a story. I was almost afraid during the epilogue that she wouldn't try to make amends where she needs to but I was really happy with how it played out.

I'm trying to think of things I didn't like about it and right now I'm coming up short. I plan to recommending this book to friends I know will enjoy it as much as I did

This book was better than I thought it would be. This was a book about the real test of love and how no matter what happens in your life and no matter who you with if its truly meant for you to be with someone it will happen. Orona found that out the hard way, by going through life for many years she shut her self off to real feelings, until she meet the one guy who remainder her of her true love. She finally let go of the hurt and pain and she healed not only herself but others.

I really enjoyed this book. I do have to admit, it took me a few tries to really get into it. About half away through my read the story picked up and kept me entertained and engaged to the end. Jennifer Silverwood writes using beautifully descriptive language to express Orona's emotions and memories. It really is beautifully written, well done!

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the thought of having a maybe not so visible connection to humans, the person you loved. The characters and the story behined this book are so differen't than anything else I have read. I kept comparing Rona to Lissa and Sied to Cain the entire book. By the end, I was pretty happy with my comparisons and how the author made everything tie. Great read.

I signed up to read and review this book. I wanted to thank Jennifer first.
I liked the cover art that's what caught my eye first. I was a bit confused in the beginning but then I couldn't put it down. My heart went out to Rona. I wanted her heart & soul to heal. Very well written. I Loved the ending.I will be reading more of this authors books ASAP

This book was hard for me to get into at first (a couple times), but once I got into it I enjoyed it. I really liked Orona and wanted her to have the love that she was fighting for all these other couples to have.
